A local radio DJ played this to death at the time. He thought it was a classic. And then it disappeared without trace. I had completely forgotten it until I came across it here. It really has stood the test of time. Love the accents. Good song.

Ofcoure I can! This song was released in the late 1970's - long before "Asian" controllers took to the job. It might interest you to know that that there have been "non-Asian" taxi controllers in Birmingham for almost a hundred years - and there still are.

I must admit I remember having about a pint of whisky and some cheese when I posted the message. ... so in the cold light of day it all seems rather strange! I live in Bristol and have mentioned it to a drummer mate. I don't think my wife would be too happy with me doing another band..although it's all food for thought. I just love cheese (and Whisky)
