Hi there. Yes, if you go to me web site I have both the Tab and the sheet music for this. I hope you will find it and play it some day. Please see the video info. (Show more...)
Wow... This song has such a natural, beautiful sound. I can hear, and feel the tides, being pulled by the moon.. it's incredible the passion you play with and that sea of storms gives the music such life. this is an amazing composition.. You are my favoritee. Thanks for the music score with tab, I really appreciate it, there's much to learn from a song like this.
Hi there. If you buy the whole collection you will get 8 pieces. 1. Oceans of the Moon 2. Sea of Clouds 3. Sea of Crises 4. Sea of Islands 5. Sea of Nectar 6. Sea of Vapors 7. Serpent Sea 8. Luna Nueva But you can order them seperately too. I hope you will do that and enjoy playing them. Kindly, Per-Olov
Hi Sir, This again is so beautiful just like your other compositions, I'm going to use it for performance around sometime this year, it would be nice to know the date of your composition. Oceans of Moon! Cheers!
Que hermosa pieza...! Mis felicitaciones Maestro...es un placer poder escuchar sus interpretaciones, nos inspiran a seguir adelante en nuestros estudios con la Guitarra Clásica!
Dear Sir, this is very beautiful music and I especially love the pauses or spaces in between notes, this gives me a chance to absorb the sounds into my bones. Your touch has medicianal purpose. I like this kind of composition and soft touch sounds very much. Your guitar must love you as you bring it to life, thanks, Laureen Launey..
I hope you realize that you are a modern day Bach/Beethoven/Chopin, or which ever composer you wish to compare yourself to. The fact that you put up your compositions for all to listen to is a service to the entire world.
Hello, Am a guitarist, and well is very beautiful your piece is a very beautiful piece and that gives me a lot of inspiracion to follow touching and well is very beautiful
Peo, just learned and mastered "Serpent Sea" and it's WONDERFUL!...thinking about getting this one too because it is as poetic as Serpent Sea...I think these two are among the best among your "Oceans of the moon" pieces.
By the way, I tried looking for your "I'm sorry" piece but couldn't find it at your web shop, perhaps later on you can post it. Hope your Christmas was wonderful!
Yet another beautiful piece! Also, your technique and presentation is superb. (There was one slightly "blunt" note at 1:54, but who cares.) I'm so glad someone still respects and perfects the old classical guitar style. Btw. I'm still waiting anxiously for your interpretation of Beethoven "Moonlight Sonata!"
PS: Kom og spill i Norge snart! Da skal jeg definitivt være der :)
Hei! Damn! Du hørte det! LOL... Regarding the Moonlight Sonata... don't hold your breath... :-) you will turn blue... I have sooo many pieces I have to play for my concerts and compositions that I have no ide when I can play "just for fun". Well, all playing is fun but somethings I have to play. I hope I can come to Norge and play some day soon. Is that an invitation? LOL
Hehe! I understand completely. I just know it would be sooo good! I wish I could invite you, but surely playing a concert for one person would not do you justice. I don't think I can handle that cover charge alone. All of the sudden I got this "Book him- and they shall come" feeling... Where and how often do you usually play in Sweden though? I mean, Sweden isn't that far away from Norway anyways :p
Well, I was only kidding. I played in France this summer and I am going to Scotland and Germany later. But "no one is a prophet in his own country"... I haven't played in Sweden for many years. I hope i will soon again. I guess the competition is bigger there... ?
I had my guitar teacher listen to it and he said it's a masterpiece of classical guitar and requires perfect technique. He said i'm not even ready to listen to it not play it, as i wished.
I found the notes of this song and i have to say that i'm trying it alone but it's just too hard for me..
mrs largo ur music is wonderfull when i started listening to it i just couldn't stop crying and thinking of the people i know...i closed my eyes and kept smiling over and over again....its one of my favorite songs...Plus, some months ago i took up guitar lessons and i do the best i can to improve it...i hope one day i' ll reach your skills...
It's wonderful, I don't have the words to explain my feeling when i listen to your music (and this piece), I'd like to speak english very well to tell you, is this piece on your cd??
very nice man, your going to be in the classical history books , keep on composing and you will be known as one of the greatest modern composers! and player !
Thank you! Appreciated! Well, only history can tell really. The important thing for me is for people to enjoy my music and feel something when I play!
Really, we're so lucky to have you here on YouTube. I'll just quote stengardsvej, 'These Oceans of the Moon pieces are so good, it's hard to describe them with words. Thank you so much for these gifts.' He put into words what I had in my mind. Once again, thank you. It's amazing.
Thank you my friend. I am honored. I would like my music to be a kind of classical pop... LOL. A different way to see the classical guitar; not so serious and narrow but popular and open but yet keep the quality in the music...
Wonderful, not only I'm impressed with your interpretation, which is flawless but also about your talent as a composer. These Oceans of the Moon pieces are so good, it's hard to describe them with words. Thank you so much for these gifts.
You posted a video on the beach, playing a carpio. It was beautiful. Anxiously awaiting the release of your CD!
I am looking for a guitar, and am comparing a carpio:hauser 37:mairet. How do you think the Ricardo Sanchis Carpio compares to the Philippe Jean-Mariet?
The Hauser 37 is built by Hill Guitar company in California. Thank you for your beautiful music.
Hi! I replied to this a week ago!!?? And now it's gone? I am sorry. The Carpio has a great bas! And has a beautiful sound and easy to play. The Jean-Mairet is a better guitar with more sustain and egality. Wish it had more volume though.
Great use of arpeggio in that middle section! Also, the harmonics at the end suit the song well. Marie is a lucky woman, because you are off the charts!!!
Thank you wolva. I cannot say how I do this, I play and when an idea comes into my mind, I always write it down and in the end it's a whole piece... :-)
the music is very nice Per, is like a "milonga triste"(music "rioplatense") but the name(oceans of the moon) is very otherwise with the music , is just a comentary , dont take bad
Thank you. Well, it's a part of a suite I am composing. If you look at the score at editionglobalmusic(com) you will see the different parts of this piece is different Ocans... but you are right; it should have name after the oceans in this piece, not all the ocaens.
Per, listening to your music and reading your introduction... would I be totally wrong to think it a metaphor and that you wrote this piece for your loved one?
excellent! bravo!....very good feeling....i think you and that Naudo fella should get together and play:) I think that would be incredible! cheers from Canada:)
Do you know of the guitar piece "Oceans of the Moon", by Carey Blyton? It was meant as a sort of "poor man's Nocturnal", dedicated to Angelo Gilardino and published by Berben. Your work is more concise and effective, I think.
An earlier commenter made me aware of C. Blyton but I have never heard of it before. Damn, I thought I was first! Well, there oyu are; everything is invented already... :) Thabnk you for your comment on mine. I will have to find Blytons to know what you are talking about.
Blyton's piece is in the form of "4 Variations - Theme - 4 more Variations". The theme, which is quite lovely, is a guitar adaptation of his own song-setting of Percy Bysshe Shelley's poem "To The Moon", which was originally scored for high voice and string quartet.
It is recorded on an all-Blyton CD, "Carey Blyton: The Guitar Music", with solos and duets recorded by the Hand-Dupre Duo. Apollo Sound LC 0060.
Thank you. I really would like J.W. or David Russell to "discover" my compositions. That would be an honor. But they don't know who I am so I guess I will have to do it myself... :) Thank you for your very, very kind words.
Per
My Gitano was making funny noises so I gave it a rest :) It's OK again. LOL
Marie is the most beautiful woman! Both on the outside and on the inside. And she appreciates the music she makes me do! She smiles, and I compose a piece like this one! Isn't it amazing?
When my CD is out I will try to travel more and play. But I compose all the time. Now I would like David Russell to play my pieces!! :)
between arpegio decribe reflecting light shimmering on the surface of ocean. Great some of your works will be more played by professional. This is The Works
Greetigns from your eastern neighbour country. :) I like your pieces a lot! Thank you for them. When I'm listening to this piece I always wonder how you can do the great "from soft to clear sound" -effect in the fast movement. That's amazing! That really makes me want to improve my picking technique - could you post sometime a "tutorial video" on this topic? :)
After having checked (rather impatiently) editionglobalmusic not less than twice a day for the last week or so, I am now the thrilled owner of a copy of your Oceans of the Moon. I have enjoyed having a go with some of your other pieces/arrangements, but this one is my favorite so far. It is nothing short of striking -- pure passion. Thank you ever so much.
Thank you for buying my music and for letting me know that you like it! it's a great honor! As you can see on the comment below, not everyone likes this, but I am happy you do! And thanks for playing it! Will you post it here?
The beauty of your music and the virtuosity of your performance leave me back completely speechless...

Hi Peo,
I want to buy this music sheet on editionglobalmusic, but I am not sure it's $6.22 or $622. Could you tell me which one?
Thanks!

How do you get such great sound? As a semi-pro technician, I am curious. Is the room you record in that live? Please help me in this. --revkevbo

Do you know of the guitar piece "Oceans of the Moon", by Carey Blyton? It was meant as a sort of "poor man's Nocturnal", dedicated to Angelo Gilardino and published by Berben. Your work is more concise and effective, I think.
davinort 4 years ago

My Gitano was making funny noises so I gave it a rest :) It's OK again. LOL

Hi Per! If I can judge by the quality of
the piece Marie must be wonderful. (Years
ago I also played my guitar for a Maria but
it was not appreciated.) In any case I think
you should play more in public and compose
more. All the best with your CD! - Athan

Thank you for listening.

Hi Peo!

Dear Per (if I may),
After having checked (rather impatiently) editionglobalmusic not less than twice a day for the last week or so, I am now the thrilled owner of a copy of your Oceans of the Moon. I have enjoyed having a go with some of your other pieces/arrangements, but this one is my favorite so far. It is nothing short of striking -- pure passion. Thank you ever so much.
Yours,
Ben
