finally a ipod-internet-page-scrolling (i say ipod, cuz i hate iphone) speed htc device XD the others were pretty good, but not as fast as the itouch. but the 1ghz processor sure does the job right =D
@Kaare8p Yeah, it's basically the touch diamond2. Well, except the screen's about 1.1 inches bigger, it's 3 mm thinner, it has capacitive multitouch and it has Sense UI instead of TouchFlo, but other than that, it's basically the td2. Oh yeah, and the processor's about twice as fast with double the RAM. But hey tomato tomahto right?
1Ghz! I remember buying a Pentium 3 back in the year 2000 with that equivalent. I would just love to see Skyfire loaded on this, should be a breeze to browse through pages, especially YouTube. Im still on a lousy 400 MHz processor but who knows soon enough the Netbook may be obsolete.
Quicksite is right. I have used pinch to zoom on a friends iphone and it does nothing for me that a double tap dosent do. Gimmick to me but I do understand HTC must prove themselves to be equal in capability to apple for all the non tech folks out there. I love the animation on the main home screen. Clouds floating? come on! That is the shit.....
I think "pinch to zoom" is overrated -- and really just a competitive marketplace homage to the iphone. Hats off to apple for reinventing the touchscreen phone experience -- but I have to say that browsers for WM like Opera, Skyfire, netfront, all have a double-tap to zoom -- which is way easier, ergonomically.
In a few years we'll be seeing people in physical therapy for "repetitive stress injury" caused by over-use of the finger muscles for pinching and widening. Irrelevant now.
The HD2 is not much larger than the iPhone -- we're talking only mms
HD2
121mm x 67mm x 11mm
iPhone
115mm x 61mm x 11.6mm
So it's thinner than the iphone, 6mm wider, and 6mm longer. That's less than a quarter of an inch larger in length and width, but 0.8 inches more screen space.
i really want this phone

This phone actually makes think about to git to Windows Mobile. God, I HATE Windows Mobile. But I love this Phone. Why, HTC, why not Android?

Can't use a stylus on a capacitive screen unless it's conductive like your finger.

Looks very good. One question on Sense: can you change the email UI to a simple list? The version they show seems cumbersome.
pgk2006 2 years ago
in the mail tab, you just press the left softkey "inbox" which takes you to pocket outlook inbox

That screen is just too huge. Hardly pocketable.

That 6mm might not seem like much on paper but make a cut out of the HD2's size and hold it in your hand, it's larger than you think it will be.
ThatEvilGuy 2 years ago
and 2.5 x the resolution :)
