He doesn't play the game of being facetious just to avoid offending people or to suck up to his guests. He's honest about his opinions in one way or another, and manages to make you laugh, even while being a jerk.

Just watch the full interview. Or better yet- watch a clip called "craig ferguson speaks from the heart"- you'll know what I mean. This is just an example of his wacky sense of humor.
I know it's a bit much in way of a response, but I'd just hate for you to base your opinion of him just by this tiny clip, thus missing out on a great show.
