@manchesterbullion Well it all depends, for all business to be closed is very rare. I live in Hamilton, which is about 45 minutes away, so we get the same weather. Usually, schools close if it snows more than 20 cm. Hope that helps.
@mario102395 I wonder where you might live, where people all come together and help each other out. Where I live, when it snows, it's every man, woman, and children for themselves.
This was a vigorous low south and east of that area and had nothing to do with global warming whatsoever. Such storms are battles between warm and cold air and the cold side gets the snow. What points more to global warming can be seen this month in Europe: Scandinavia is largely frost free and a few days ago the temperature in Moscow was 9degrees Celsius and this morning (Sunday December 7) it is 7 degrees in Moscow. Extremely mild, that's how global warming really works.
the geat lakes north of toronto use to always freeze in winter, now they never do!
the end result is more lake effect snow.there could be a time in the future when toronto gets snow accumalation that of places like barrie ontario... that would be a disaster for a city like toronto, as there would be no place to put the snow, and it would really hurt the outside portion of the subway system.
i love cold weather
