Keyboardist/drummer...I've always wanted to play steel guitar, but I just can't seem to do very well with guitars. I always appreciate those of you who can, much-less those who do it with style as you. I will admit that I was skeptical when I saw a singer present, but was pleasantly surprised to hear the vocals, as Karen Carpenter's voice is hard to match; notwithstanding. the ranges were nearly-boundless. This is truly a solid performance of which both of you can be proud. Excellent!!!
David, great as always. The singer is excellent. If you keep this up you will soon have a band, John, You , the Singer.............what's next ? Oh, and i forgot the dancing dog haha. Cheers buddy.
I wish to thank you all for your comments to my youtube broadcasts. It is very much appreciated. I do try and contact you all personally if there's any questions that I have been asked, and I also make note of all your requests too. I have some great ideas for future videos and I will try and play some of your requests also.
How do you surpass perfection? Certainly *not* by trying to best these two artists. Fran has a voice and style that is soooo soothing and relaxing and David has more talent in his little finger than most "pros" that I've listened to have in their whole body. Just a remarkable duo. Well done, folks. Let's have some more real soon.
God, how I love that song. I sat spellbound in the second row when Karen & Richard sang it live, too many years ago. It has served as a virtual anthem of gratitude and positive regard through its exquisitely simple, lyrical truth. When Red Rhodes added his steel to the album version of that profession of joy, it was a complete and perfect fit. Even now, I find myself smiling. That's not a bad thing. I have the two of you to thank for that. Mike
I'm 68 years old and have my feet firmly planted on the ground. I'm certainly not easily impressed with every performer that I hear. *However*, you two folks are so far above some "professionals". You're a natural, together. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed your latest entry into the "mix". "Top of the World" has *always* been one of my overall favorites. I only wish you two would "go professional" and "go global" and grace us with your talents outside of You Tube. Great job!
I was going to make an instrumental of this tune, but you have totally eclipsed anything that I could have come up with, + your backing track is superb.
Fran and David, How did you know that this was one of my favorite songs of all time? Fran, your rendition is so close to Karen Carpenter's that it's almost scary.
David, your steel is also very close to the original...was that Emmons? Is that the brand new Rains you got in Dallas? Lookin' good!
Very nice,,great voice also
