Seeing starters like that is what's keeping me from buying a beta or alpha starter. Totally understandable that your going to get cards that are meh, but all of that land taking up your uncommon spots is just annoying.

I remember playing and looking over to 4-5 boxes of arabian nights open and we used to just take out boosters for drafts. I opened alot of beta starters and never (myself) got any really good rares. In unlimited though i had a power 9 set that would easily be 9.5, I sold the timetwister.timewalk and ancestral recall fpr around a 100 bucks lol.... Zzzz god i love this game. Good stuff and too bad you did get your cards you wanted.

That was probably the worst beta starter I have ever seen cracked...

I used to know a guy who got a case of beta for basically nothing from someone who didn't know better back in like 1995-1996 who cracked most of the packs a few years ago.

Yeah, the total opens were worth around 400 bucks, but goddamn, opening a beta starter must have felt like throwing down a huge bet at a casino.

Depends on the condition and the serie...Mint (perfect condition) black lotus from beta serie is worth between 2500 and 3000$....

About 12 years ago (around 4th/5th) I had purchased TWO Beta Starter decks for $150/ea. I intended on opening one and keeping the other as a collectors item. I opened up the first starter deck and my two rares were....TWO ISLANDS! Completely disappointed I had to open the other one. In that one I got a Granite Gargoyle and an Ankh of Mishra, but they were ALPHA. This was back when Alpha was worth less than Beta due to them not being legal in competitive play.

the joy is opening and reliving the golden age of magic not getting a lotus. Getting an expensive of card would be great but you should be in it for the love of the era. Me and friend started a magic crew called BBC Black Border Click, we only play with old cards and enjoy it greatly. THis past X-mas we played revised zen it was a treat in deed but this X-mas will be playing with unlimited starter zen we play tthe cards for ante, blind zen, no peeking and we play them with out sleeves.

there wernt supposed to be any lands in arabian nights, but they accidentaly printed mountains with the arabian nights expansion symbol, those mountains go for 20$.
