I stumbled upon this song a month ago while shopping in a local grocery store, its raw power and beauty capturing my attention immediately. Curious, I eventually came upon a clerk breaking down boxes in a back room, an iPod nearby powering a small set of speakers. Our eyes met. My wide-eyed expression must have said it all. 'As I Am', he said, matter-of-factly. 'Mystery - a Canadian band.', he then added. I was mesmerized then and still am now, even after countless plays. What a great discovery!
underlay this over lifeson's intro acoustic to a farewell to kings, and let it roll, screams high voices, in the distance, eyes cast out on the paths of least resistance'
@BetterTasteThanU I was under the misguided belief that this was great music, but thanks to your witty and thoughtful criticism I see now what a fool I have been. I bow to your superior intelligence.
I guess you are not a Mystery fan. I do not see them as derivative at all. They have been around over 20years and the music sounds mature and original. Certainly there are elements of other prog rock groups but I think it is unique enough to be considered original.
Totally i told you i'm a newbie Mystery fan. Derivative, Howe? Actually the band, not the voice, is familiar in a way as a long lost brther distanced around the edge close to the corner of Megadon City.
OK, this song rings in the high voices of what rock and roll should and has sounded like and and is supposed to sound like. Forgetting YES, these musicians look as cool as they are supposed to be, Frighteningly. Trying to figure out SCREAMS HIGH VOICES, yeah, that's it! As if we were one of those. WHAT SONG IS THIS A MAKED RIPOFF OF?
YES, I finally know who you are and I understand. If Jon was Jesus, then Benoit is the Second Coming! Awesome! See you at HOBnola in Feb2010! I can't wait!!!

This is really a superb composition. Outstanding production!
This music demonstrates that real, thoughtful music is still written. Excellent dynamics.
On a personal note. the images of Montreal are most pleasing...

OK - the way you write is sometimes unclear but I see you are a creative thinker and anyone who likes classic Yes and Nietzsche has good taste.
cheers, Sam

The point is to comment on Mystery and leave out the YES connection. Mystery stands on their own, IMHO.

I love this style: the combination of a gentle melody and the intense guitars and drums. It's there all over the Veil of the Winter's face.

Mystery should emerge in 2010..
Their new coming album will redifine the boundaries of progressive music...
