  • People convert because they are called by God. God does the choosing. People cant just just choose God.

  • press 9 for the creepiest thing you have ever seen

  • One might think and say and point towards many reasons..But the only one who can answer to your questions is GOD. He does answer our prayers. The only thing is you need to listen to his answers with recieving heart..From the bottom of my heart I know this gospel is true.It has fullness in it. I have tested it .If you want to know about it just investigate it by your self. Knowing by yourself and learning by yourself is important..

  • Glen Beck owes all of his success to the man he plagiarizes from ALEX JONES Be careful of Glen, he talks about Zionism, this is a doctrine taught by the Mormons and is replete throughout their history, they believe that they are setting up a kingdom on this earth and all the rest of us are Gentiles.

  • @Cheshu1 Have you actually read, in context, the quote you cited from Brigham Young? The entire speech?

Please don't be biased toward members of a religion. "displays the mormon mind so clearly... no problems trying to bend the truth." Mormons are people. To be so biased shows a lack of intellect and desire to understand... indeed, a lack of Christianity.

  • @Cheshu1 Classic misquote- He was talking about black slave owners raping their female slaves. Surely you agree that rape is a wicked and punishable thing.

  • Mormonism: false gospel, false Jesus. Mormons believe that God used to be a man. They believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers. They believe that EVERYONE goes to Heaven - including Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, etc. They believe that they too will become a "God" and have their own universe. Mormonism is a demonic cult masquerading as "Christianity". It is a very sad and tragic TRUTH that every dead mormon is now suffering in hell with no hope of ever getting out.

  • @edadan2009 Do you have any sort of support for those allegations- "false gospel, false Jesus."

  • @LdsRm

Sure, let's start with salvation. Tell me what mormon doctrine teaches about salvation. How are you (as a mormon) saved?

  • Speaking at a reception prior to a concert Monday evening in Roy Thomson Hall, President Monson said that when he became president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2008, he appointed himself as adviser to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, which includes the Orchestra at Temple Square and the Bells on Temple Square. It is, he said, one of his favorite assignments.

  • TORONTO, Ontario -- Professing "there is no finer choir in all the world" than the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, LDS Church President Thomas S. Monson welcomed invited guests to the final concert of its summer tour.

  • I am still deciding whether or not to subscribe to his new online show.

  • Glenn isn't perfect but he truly was converted to the LDS church; why would anyone dislike his opinion and his true story? One can't judge when we are imperfect ourselves!

    1 John 1:8

  • I wish I could afford drugs and alcohol every day

  • It says a lot about him that he picked one of the craziest religions on earth.

  • @max2right Why is it a crazy religion?

  • @LdsRm They’re all crazy but the Mormon beliefs are a bit nuttier. If you know the religion just pick one of the basic beliefs and have a good laugh. Nuttier still is scientology.

  • It seem you have taken your censorship off the comments in the last few days. Good for you.

  • Guess my truthful comments didn't pass muster on Religion vs (thoughtful & polite) free speech. Beck is hate speech. Any association with Beck is embarrassing in any but t most illiberal & right wing of circles. Beck says no tax 4 t rich. Jesus said if U want 2 B perfect, give all ur possessions away & come follow me. Jesus: Rich man, heaven, camel through t eye of t needle. Beck says no health care for t poor. Jesus said free healthcare 4 your enemy, good Samaritan ring a bell?

  • The only time I would halfway agree with Beck...if you're an addict or alcoholic the Mormons are the ppl to see. The Mormon diet of avoiding caffeine & it's opposite, alcohol etc. And now, for the reality: Even at the pinnacle of his profession he is still a PR liar4hire. After all this time, he's still a high priced whore who appears as Mr Reasonable Every-Man when being interviewed by other's but when on Fox "News" he's Mfg & creating doubt & ignorance & "just asking questions". HA!-)
  • Anyone who thinks Glenn Beck is a fake publicity crier paid no attention to any other part of the video. This man is bearing his sincere, genuine testimony of his faith. That is a hard thing to do for most people in the world, and it taps into an emotion that most people do not realize is present in them. Something one could never understand without experiencing it. He knows the church is true, and he knows he has a special connection to God. Do not patronize him for that. You are the judgers.

  • Others can read Deut 18 and decide if I "misunderstand." Most mormons are uncomfortable talking about doctrines and claims in public where others can hear for themselves. The LDS church would rather control public relations image than talk about the history of their doctrines. That way they can lure vulnerable people like GB into a cult by pretending to be Christian. Even nice, tenderhearted people can be decieved into believeing a lie. That is why we need a truth test, Joe Smith fails.

  • @HMSRedbeard Ask the missionaries if you want answers bro. If you want them, you can find them. I'm glad you seem to have religion in your life. But love is what religion is all about. Doesn't matter what you are, Christianity is love.

  • @Thedrewsiff When people would worship Molech (2nd Kings 23:10) they would place their children on a burning idol so that they could "pass through the fire to Molech". Not all religion is about love, and there are many false prophets and teachers. If I want to know the truth about love and religion I go to Jesus Who said that He was "the way, the truth and the life...Jn 14:6". I find the answers in the Jesus of the Bible! I love Jesus and His word, I can love you because He first loved me.

  • GB encourages his listeners to "question with boldness even the existence of a God.." . When I question with boldness the existence of the gods of mormonism, and I "search for answers everywhere..." the truth that I find beyond the thin veneer of the mormon public relations dept. is dispicable, filthy and pornographic. I evaluate Joe Smith by the test of a true prophet in Deuteronomy 18:9-22, He fails miserably! GB is a classic victom of a cult. He joined without searching for answerseverywhere!

  • @HMSRedbeard : Beck is clear that he did a thorough search & that it was his daughter's sensitivity to the Spirit that caused him to consider the LDS church. You remember the "out of the mouth of babes" scriptures--I'll let you look them up. Beck is also extremely insistent on his program that we NOT "take his word for it"--that we research ourselves. The same is true of the Book of Mormon (see lds[dot]org/scriptures/bofm/moro/10.3-5). You also reject the fruits & eat the slander, evidently.

  • @aliunde It is interesting thay you do not comment on the Deut. 18 scripture. There are many false teachers in the world ie.. Dave Koresh, Moon, Russel, JIm Jones. They all cannot be telling the truth! 1st John 4:1 commands us not to believe every spirit! How are you going to determine who to believe, and who is a liar? I go to the one test that cannot be faked-Deut.18:9-22. Did GB do this? Not according to this testimony! Joe Smith is a FALSE prophet, and is proved to be a liar. GB is a victim!

  • @HMSRedbeard I am limited in the # of characters w/ which I can reply, so don't take my lack of response to every frivolous accusation too seriously. You clearly misunderstand Deut. 18, but it is impossible to carry on an informative religious discussion (except for hurling unfounded epithets/accusations, of course, something I don't plan on doing) in a youtube format. Beck's interview speaks for itself. If you're honestly interested in an amicable discussion on the matter, you can message me.

  • Comment removed

  • @aliunde Others can read Deut.18 for themselves to see if I "misunderstand." Most mormons do not like to discuss their doctrines and beliefs in public where they cannot control public relations. JIm Jones had his followers commit suicide by "drinking cool-aid" laced with poison. The poison gave them time to lie down in the grass in family groups so they could die together. These people were vulnerable, tenderhearted, and they trusted their leader. They were decieved by a liar. Deceptionkills!

  • You lefties blow my mind. You listen to a man telling a story about something he found that helped him move on in his life and find happiness and success, yet somehow you don't see it for what it is. The problem is you people are egomaniacs and you can't fathom the idea that there are people who disagree with you and have different morals/beliefs. It's just not possible, because you're right and they're wrong. I thought you were all about tolerance and diversity. I don't believe in god fyi

  • @fishblades Problem is that this man is a constant liar. I don't see why people SHOULD take anything he says as truthful.

  • @makka432

Do you really think Glenn, as hated as he is, could sit on a Worldwide cable channel and lie about everything all the time without repercussions? Name somethings Glenn has lied about.. I'm curious.

I seem to remember a guy named Van Jones who used to work in the White House but he doesn't anymore because Glenn had the nerve to say something.

  • @fishblades

I'm sure he's had his moments of some truthfulness, but the way he is perceived by the public is the result of his constant of spin and lies. One example on the top of my head is his accusation that the Obama administration is a "oligarhy" based only on taking some letters from words he wrote up on a blackboard.

And Van Jones? The man who stood for civil rights and the environment, then all of the sudden was accused of being a Marxist? I remember that too.

  • @fishblades He said Obama's a racist. Bill O'Reilly also said that no one can explain the tide and that Earth is the only planet with a moon. Are you that retarded you couldn't figure that out for yourself?

  • This manipulator of emotions is raping people financially to gratify his own sustanance and promotion for narcissistic men taking advantage of others. This pompous windbag uses such emotional enticements and fear while dropping the name of God on it and it's obvious how unloving it is. Those that THINK they're so right, end up acting SO wrong ;) Good luck to those that can give this kinda of mental manipulation credence. It's a VERY costly error. Think about it ;)

  • religion targets the weak...but hes in it for the money lol

  • minipulation, power, money........ whats wrong beck desided it just tasted too good to say no

  • That explains everything

  • I don't know if the Latter Day Saints want to be associated with Glenn Beck

  • At 3:40 Glen says, "I don't care if there's Kool-Aid down in the basement, I'm drinkin it." Is this a reference to the JIm Jones incident? That's kinda creepy, Glen.

  • If he wanted to be able to love someone the first time he met them... Why didn't he become a Unitarian Universalist? It brings that love without an invisible sky-daddy telling you to.

  • Let me check I understand the reasoning here. Glenn Beck seems to be implying that God helped him land a business deal the day after his baptism.

  • Amazing. You can find the exact same stories from people in every other religion too. Even from atheists.

  • Looks like the Mormon faith has another charlatan and lier.

  • If you take the m out of mormon all you have is a moron

  • He used to be fun, pick the bottle back up Glenn you'll have some fun, regrettable might beat your kids, but atleast then he'll go bye bye.

  • MORMONISM IS INTRINSICALLY CORRECT BY VIRTUE OF ITS CHURCHES' WARMTH.

  • @iamthe1337est not to mention the holy underwear - very warm I've heard :p

  • @iamthe1337est

    What?

  • Glenn has the intelligence of a dung beetle.

  • @RelaxGodfolk where is this hate in you come from? what did beetles ever did to you?

  • @RelaxGodfolk

    That's insulting to beetles everywhere.

  • In one interview he said he became a Mormon to get into her panties. What does that say about her? Not much.

  • "I don't care if there's Kool-Aid down in the basement, I'm drinking it..."

Does that not sum up everything about Glenn Beck in one sentence or what?

  • mormons are super fun and nice but their religion is... nvm forget it. forget i even opened my mouth to try and comment.

  • disgusting man glenn beck is.

  • you are decieved my friend

  • Redelfs was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His mother, brother and sister attended the Redd Ward in the El Paso Mount Franklin stake regularly. Enriquez was not a member. Fellow ward members Trent and Anne Hatch said the family and congregation are deeply saddened by the news. Members are doing their best to offer support and comfort to the family.

  • Thank you Glenn, I love hearing your life story. I am proud to be LDS and to be affiliated with the many people like you.

  • LOLOLOL! glenn beck is, and always has been, a terrible fake cryer.

  • "It was awful. The whole ward is having a really hard time," Anne Hatch said. "People are really upset. They were really nice people, down-to-earth. They would help anybody."

  • It seems obvious that "most" of the comments made so far are from mormons. The Bibles authenticity can and has been proven but the Book of Mormon has been proven a false book and the hyroglifics Joseph said were Egyptian, were studied by Egyptian scholars and found to be totally false. Please do your own homework. I did when I was attending BYU and now am a believer in the TRUE Jesus of the Bible.Mormons are very sincere. I love them but they are just sincerely wrong.

  • Or you are Sincerely wrong

  • Amen....so many contradictions, not to mention the character of the man who started it.

  • I believe in what Glenn beck stands for other than the mormon religion. I do have questions about such an intelligent man converting to a religion that is against the true gospel of the Bible.

  • Mexican authorities put suspicion on a gang of hit men allied with the Juarez drug cartel based on "information exchanged with U.S. federal agencies," according to a statement Sunday from the joint mission of soldiers and federal police overseeing security in Ciudad Juarez.

They hit men also ambushed Jorge Alberto Salcido Ceniceros, 37, a Mexican citizen.

  • @chick4jesus1

I have the exact same quandry!

  • Fraud? snake oil salesman?? wow really?? what makes him a fraud? he is the most sensible and truthful person in the media.

  • haha unbelievable you can even notice how this fraud is acting right now, hes a cult member AND snake oil salesman, fraud

  • Those who hold a "tight control" view of the translation believe that Joseph saw God-revealed English words that were then dictated to a scribe. According to this position, the English translation represents a fairly literal-translation from the Nephite text. It's important to note that such a translation would only have been "fairly literal" for at least three reasons:

  • Among LDS scholars there are at least two different views as to the transmission of the Book of Mormon text into English. Some believe in a "tight control" and others in a "loose control" (still others believe in a combination of the two).

  • Auckland Latter-day Saint teenager, Caitlin, says the For the Strength of Youth pamphlet helps her keep the law of chastity because it puts into perspective why we need to do so.

"The family proclamation is in the pamphlet," she says, "which also gives reasons as to why the law of chastity is so important."

  • Many Latter-day Saint youth carry around with them in their wallet or purse a small booklet called "For the Strength of Youth." It contains information and guiding principles with respect to making wise choices in relation to chastity as well as other parts of life such as entertainment, education and service to others.

  • How can one take this guy seriously. A guy who believes a goofy fairy tail about early America

written in "Reformed Egyptian" and translated by a whaky kid looking at rocks in his hat. Humpty

    Dumpty is more believable.

  • Putt, you are to be pitied. You just watched a man tell his story sincerely and you come up with this cynnicism? You are the very definition of a faithless person. What a contrast!

  • The Navajo Langauge was a Known language. But what ever is on the plates isnot.

  • If anyone is to be pitied it's those who fall for any of those

hustle jobs called religion. Evidence beats blind faith by a

landslide and you dingbats who fall for that Mormon crap

on the weakest of all arguments: Faith, are to be pitied

    most.

  • @JCPUTT

if it was ACTUALLY goofy you would NOT have to sensationalize it. You could tell the TRUTH about it!

    GOTCHA!

  • I still find you holy-hustlers amusing. Raised in the same area as your

19th century phony J. Smith, I just had to dig deeply into this. What I found

was a super deadbeat, lying-ass, lazy family evicted from one tenant farm

after another. These boogy-man observers like your Smithy and Leuken

in Bayside NY. Oh, there were hundreds of holy gimmiks designed to

hustle you lame brained saps. You just fell for the most ridiculous.

  • You know that Jesus came to the US after he died and had poped up from time

to time since. Right? The last visit from heaven is when he and his mom

showed up at Bayside Queens NY in 1975 with our "Lady of the Roses".

Veronica Lueken asked Jesus: Where's Maroni?? Jesus said, "who in the F

is Maroni?" Look it up! I'm loaded with 'TRUTH'.

  • I realize that to many Jesus is being the Savior of the WORLD is a different concept to understand.

    At least TRY???

  • @JCPUTT i believe this guy, he justifies himself with equal amounts of evidence as every other religious group.

  • fairy tale about early America? He believes the historical facts, he has stated that many times. But I believe you might be humpty dumpty with a mind like that.

  • Pray even if you are young and wayward like the prophet Alma or have a closed mind like Amulek, who knew concerning these things, yet . . . would not know (Alma 10:6).

  • After her prayer, the little girl told her mother, I know he is not going to catch any sparrows in his trap because I prayed about it. Im positive he wont catch any sparrows!

Her mother said, How can you be so sure?

She said, After I prayed about it, I went out and kicked that old trap all to pieces!

  • That principle is illustrated by the story of a little girl. She was upset with her brother, who built a trap to catch sparrows.

Unable to get help, she said to herself, Well, Ill pray about it.

  • flounderteeth, Jared...

might i suggest you invite the LDS missionaries into your home for a conversation, its very obvious you know nothing of our faith. Do you honestly think we would want to belong to a faith constantly being mocked and ridiculed? nope, but i f you learn about it, there is no denying it, the truth sets you free..and you WILL feel it.

  • Jesus, Heavenly Father, and the Spirit are separate personages! But they are ONE in purpose!

  • As much as I like and admire Glenn Beck, what his church is teaching is false scripturally. You cannot come to Christ, by trusting in what you have done. You cannot be righteous enough to earn your way to heaven. Consistently the Bible teaches that salvation is based on faith ... in Christ.

  • interestingly enough, the church teaches that faith in christ is important. works without faith is dead, but we also believe faith without works is dead.

  • One of the arguments that Mormons use to support their church is that there are many Christian denominations. Yes there are many Christian groups, and they do argue, but each individual is allowed (encouraged) to wrestle with how God is leading them personally. This is in contrast of following one supreme leader or being excommunicated. Think about it. One teaches to personally resolve where God is leading you ... the other mandates what you will do, even down to what you will drink or eat.

  • it does that in the bible too, if you didnt know.

  • ever heard of the ten commandments? They dictate the way you live your life. Something all Christian churches follow. There again, another truth of the LDS church.

  • Salvation comes from placing your trust that your sins are forgiven through Christ's death.

"For God so loved the world, that whosoever believes in him shall have eternal life."

Can Mormons go to heaven ... yes! But not by trusting in things that they have done, but in trusting in Christ.

  • all this quote says is they shall have eternal life... not that they will go to heaven. this can go really deep to the fact that we will all get the chance to accept jesus christ as our saviour. its not the church that saves us (it does guide us) but it is our faith and works.

  • I think Glenn Beck is awesome.

But despite this, if he was to die today trusting in what he has done to earn favor before God, he would not go to heaven. That's according to what Jesus has said in the Bible.

There are serious scientific and intellectual problems with the book of Mormon. It makes archeological claims that are proven false (unlike the Bible). It doesn't jive with the rest of the Bible. Some of the initial leaders walk away from the church claiming that it was made up.

  • so a good hardworking man who seriously believes in christ and strives to be like him cant go to heaven? give me a break.

  • None of the witnesses redacted their testimonies, actually. And, the Book of Mormon is actually always proven true in these archeological and other claims you have probably heard of.

Give the missionaries a call. ;)

  • From what I know the golden plates Joseph Smith found have a language on them. (according to him) But scientists and translators couldnot translate it into any Known Language.

Plus the Scientists have looked for the cites in the Book of Mormon and many of them havenot been found.Only about 10% were found if even that.

  • The WWII Code talkers used a language so unique it was utterly undecipherable by the best code breakers of the era--and you buy into that, don't you? Why is it hard to believe native Americans might have had an 'untranslatable' language?

Science/archeology verifies the BoM everyday. Look into it.

  • Tthe Book of Mormon contains references to various technologies (chariots, steel, etc) that did not exist in the Americas at the time of the story.

The Book of Mormon suggests that the Native Americans are descended from people who came to the Americas by boat from the Mid-East, yet genetic evidence shows that Native Americans are descended from peoples from Siberia.

The Book of Mormon contains references to plants and animals (horses, swine, etc) that did not exist in the Americas then

  • You know the mormon church and the book of mormon dont teach that you should be personal with God.......

  • So do you Deny yourselves of all unGodliness, i mean everything not even drinking caffine or anything. OH and do you believe that The LDS church teaches that Jesus God and The Holy Spirit are three seperate personages?

  • hey stupids. Christians are those who believe in god!

  • Tragic. Glenn is still lost. He refuses to repent and believe the gospel, the REAL gospel. The Mormon "Jesus" cannot save anyone. And the Mormon "God" is, I'm sure, too busy having celestial sex with his "Goddess" to bother with mankind. Mormonism is a wicked and perverse twisting and denial of the true Christian faith. It needs to be consistently opposed and exposed for what it truly is.

  • Now that's not very nice. What would Jesus do?

  • Jesus would tell the truth .... you don't go to heaven because of righteous things that you have done ... but because Christ died in our place for our sins. That's the critical difference between Mormonism and the what the Bible says. One says you can earn it (and eventually become a god like Christ and potentially have your own world), the other says ... you can't earn it. Mormons are good people, often better than most Christians. But that isn't enough

  • Why did Mormons need the Book of Mormon? Isn't the Bible the holy book of God Jesus Christ?

  • The Book of Mormon is just another testament of Jesus Christ

  • According to whom? Only according to the Mormons themselves. That is why the Mormon church is not recognized by Christian denominations as being a Christian church. As long as Mormons go by another book, but the Holy Bible, they will never be admitted and recognized by the Christian denominations. And rightfully so.

  • HAHA! Pretty sure that many other religions have accepted us as Christians.

  • Other religions are not Christians so that makes no difference.

  • so... Catholics aren't widely considered to be Christian??

  • You wrote "other religions" in your comment. As far as I know, other religions than Cristian do not include Catholicism.

  • The Book of Mormon is NOT JUST another testament of Jesus Christ..

How many Christina denominations are in the world all claiming to be the truth and the way when none of them can agree on some very basic principles.

Why would there be so many denominations of everything hinged on The Bible alone???

    That is common sense.

The Book of Mormon eliminates contention, dispels false doctrine, and establishes peace.

Remember - One Bible yet Hundreds of denominations all at odds with each other.

  • AMEN!!!!

  • ... the byzantine emperor Constantine had NOTHING to do with the decrees of the council of Nicea...he only convened it...he knew nothing about theology...in fact, tradition says he wasn't even baprised until his death-bed...The church spoke as an entity protected by the solem vow of Christ to never abandon His church to the "gates of hell"..in their apostasy mormons are calling God a liar contradicting Matt.16:19....yet look at their immoral prophet Smith in whom they put their trust..

  • Constantine did a government takeover of Christianity. He is the one who convened the Nicean Council. Once the government did their power grab and took it over, the writing was pretty much on the wall.

  • ..how ironic that you say that about constantine...isn't it a mormon theocracy that according to his own notions that joseph smith envisions for america?..

  • dimtry, no, Mormons do not believe in taking over the government and establishing a theocracy. You are confusing us with Muslims. Mormons believe, as an article of faith, in the freedom or religion. We love the Constitution of the United States and believe it to be an inspired document. We love the liberty and freedom enshrined within it.

  • ...Satan loves when INDIVIDUALS claim "god spoke to them"...it opens the door wide open for him to spread his gospel of confusion ...we can see that same pattern in the prophet mohammed justifying starting his new religion:..."an angel spoke to me (gabriel)..."told me the churches were false"..."and that polygamy was OK, even child brides because i am the prophet"..and "another testament" (koran) ...i'm starting to think joseph smith got his clues from mohammed's "playbook" almost verbatim...

  • Satan love the false prophets, and he despises the true prophets. Joseph Smith is a true Prophet. Where are you living prophet, dimtry? Do you not have any? And if not, why not?

  • ..a true prophet obeyts the Bible...he wouldn't be a womanizing lothario and forgerer like your false prophet joseph smith ... UNLIKE your joeph smith and brigham young a true prophet obeys the commandment against adultery and would NEVER distort old testament narrative to justify immorality (polygamy) and racism against blacks hood-winking MILLIONS with this apostasy...LEAN on Christ ALONE and the Bible ALONE as the Word of God..you do not have to follow joseph smith into the "lakre of fire"..

  • dimtry, Joseph Smith was a good man, notwithstanding lies about him. Mormons are not racist. Jesus Christ is definitely the way, the truth, and the life. God is not limited to the Bible though.

As for hell and the lake of fire, see this video ;) watch?v=ImzFdHd70vU (sorry, I couldn't resist)

  • Joseph Smith was a good man, notwithstanding lies told about him. He was not a perfect man, no prophet ever is, except for the Lord Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith is not guilty of the scurrilous claims against him. The "falling away" prophesied in the Bible happened after all of the Apostles had been killed off. There were still good christian people, but the apostles and prophets who receive revelation for his church were gone. They were restored in 1830.

  • NEW video on my youtube account (my favorites): EXMORMON BAND SINGS: OPEN YOUR EYES"...see how God is delivering mormons from the false doctrines of joseph smith and leading them to the true gospel "handed down from the apostles"...they are young former mormon missionaries and a christian band now called ADAM'S ROAD BAND... they have a kick-ass alternative sound with a pure gospel message...they have videos here on youtube...

  • I like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. They rock.

  • Actually I find much more credible what his own early church members said about joesph smith under SWORN AIFIDAVITS, "forgoing every earthly blessing" in the name of the truth to expose joseph smith's immorality (polygamy) which they called his "whoredom"...They exposed smith in a newspaper they published called the Nauvoo Expositor .Only one issue appeared because smith, then mayor of the town had the printing press burned down..It can be viewed unabridged on-line: type 1844 NAUVOO EXPOSITOR

  • I don't pay attention to bitter people who slander others. Millions today recognize Joseph Smith as the most important figure in the 19th century. And that's saying something when there are so many other wonderful candidates, like Abraham Lincoln.

  • ..the Bible warned us about false prophets like joseph smith and those yet to come arising confusing and deceiving MILLIONS...Cults like mormonism, islam, jehovah witness, masonry are tangible evidence of the fullfillm ent of that prophecy...

  • What Paul in Galatians warned about was things like the post-biblical Nicene Creed when Christianity was taken over by the Constantine's government. Ironic that that's when Christianity stopped being called a cult. The world always gets is exactly backwards.

  • ..The Nicene Council was the Church speaking under the guidance of the Holy Spirit (Matt, 16:18-19) articulating christian beliefs and the canon of scriptures...while that prophecy (gal. 1:8-9) was more fine tuned to your prophet, joseph smith, an INDIVIDUAL who CLAIMED he got a "revelation" (no witnesses) and his "angel of light", moroni. The distortion of old testament narrative to justify immorality (polygamy) and racism against blacks by your founders is tangible evidence of that.

  • So when they wrote down the Nicene Creed, they added to the Bible? I thought that was verboten to you. So, let me get this straight. The prophets in the scriptures were individual men of God. But the Nicene Council was a "committee"? Where is the scriptural precedent for that? By the way, there are witnesses to the Book of Mormon, 12 of them; they gave their witness statement in the introduction of the book.

  • ...they (council Fathers) did NOT add to the bible...they aritulated under the guidance of the Holy Spirit the truths revealed in the: the Trinity, Virgin birth, divinty of Christ etc...The church was given a solemn vow by Christ that he would NEVEr abandon the church to the powers of darlness (falsehood) which contradicts the so-called "vision" of Joseph Smith and the prophet mohammed who used the same "story" and argument to start his new religion and "other testament" (koran)..

  • dimtry, you can sugar coat it all you want. But in the 4th and 5th centuries they added stuff that wasn't there when they "aritulated". Paul warned about that in the 1st century. And the irony is that this extra-biblical stuff is promoted by those who demand that there cannot be anything written beyond the Bible. You can't have it both ways, my friend.

  • ..Sugar coat what?..The Church had the authority from Christ to articulte and to interpret the Bible under the guidance of the Holy Spirit..Excuse me but we are to follow instead your immoral, corrupt womanizing racist, prophet joseph smith instead of the Church Christ founded?...i don't think so bud...

  • dimtry, why does the Bible need "articulating and interpreting". I thought there was no room for interpretating, that it stood on its own, that nothing could be "added to or taken away". Sounds like now you are acknowledging the possibility for modern prophets, but just that you don't think Joseph Smith is the one. I and millions of others testify that Joseph Smith was moral, non-womanizing, non-racist, and that he was a Prophet of God. Thank you for your interest.

  • Did I just say "interpretating"? That's funny. You get the idea though.

  • ...The bible belong to church ...it was given by God to the Church with the guidance to interpret its verses CORRECTLY according to His will... your reasoning is why cults like mormonism, jehovah witnesses ,islam are tangible evidence of the spitit of confusion when others try to violate that immutable principle: the Bible belongs to the Church Christ founded in 33AD not in 1830...your mormon church was founded by a corrupt and immoral prophet, joseph smith..

  • dimtry, if it was given by God to "the Church" with the guidance to interpret it correctly, why are there so many different christian Churches? Why are there so many different versions of the Bible? I believe the Bible, but God is not limited to the Bible. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared in vision to the boy Joseph Smith in 1820. Who am I or who are you to tell them they can't do that. God does what he wants. He doesn't need my permission, nor yours.

  • so your saying that nobody knew Jesus and followed his ways and teachings for like 1700 years or whatever

  • Mormons love to say the church of the councils (nicea etc) were corrupt and wrong in their poceedings...How ironic that they rather put their trust in joseph smith, a corrupt womanizing lothario of the 1800's wanted for bank fraud (kirtland),destroying public property (nauvoo expositor), and by some very pissed off husbands who wanted to kill him for polluting their marriages by seducing their wives (his "whoredom") ..i'll choose that 4th century church over a false prophet like joseph smith.

  • I don't understand why some exert so much time and energy to fight against us. It's almost like your livelihood is at stake or something. I don't spend my time and energy trying to tear down Catholics or Baptists or Methodists or Episcopalians or Lutherans or Jehovahs Witnesses or Community of Christ or Eastern Orthodox Church or Oriental Orthodox Church or Jews or Presbyterians or Mennonites or Amish or Pentecostals, etc.

  • i know some nice mormons and not nice mormons but in the book of mormon it clearly says that all churches are wrong except the mormon church it aint about church it is about finding Jesus not accepting joseph smith as a prophet

  • boogedm, where does it say that in the Book of Mormon?

  • it is either in the book of mormon when he asked the personages what church to join they said none they were all wrong

  • When who asked what church to join? Joseph Smith? Joseph Smith was born in 1805. The Book of Mormon takes place from 600BC to 400AD. The Book of Mormon is not about Joseph Smith. He translated the book into English from engravings on golden metal plates.

  • it was joseph smith in palmyra ny in that grove asking God and Jesus which church to join i might not have it right the book of mormon it could be the d and c i think its called the vision or something like that

  • Yes the account of the First Vision is recorded in the book of Doctrine and Covenants. If you will carefully read the words, Jesus did not condemn members of other churches. He was speaking about the "creeds" being an abomination. When I look at history, I see things like the Nicene Creed coming out of the Nicean Council in the 4th century, when Constantine orchestrated a government takeover of Christianity. Before that Christianity was considered by the world as a "cult".

  • i think the key word is world who cares what the world thinks even if they thought that today i would not care better to die with Jesus than without

  • i noticed you said churches and creeds,i think u know this but the people are the church not a building so again those people from what approximately 300- 1830 were all getting taught the wrong stuff again look at my past comment from about a week ago

  • i aint gonna argue with u like that other dude i do have alot of problems with what the mormon teaches like God being a man and being married just to name one besides that look at my past comment a week ago or so

  • I can see why many are skeptical about Joseph Smith and his story. I was skeptical myself. I eventually received my testimony of the prophetic mission of Joseph Smith through reading The Book of Mormon and praying. I know through the sweet assurances of the Holy Ghost that it is true. Joseph Smith was the instrument in the hands of God in translating and bringing forth the Book of Mormon.

  • Read The Book of Mormon. I think you'll find it different than what you are expecting. You can get a free copy of the book by going to mormon[dot]org/bookofmormon

  • ..Don't be naive...just because something sounds "good" (like the book of mormon OR the koran) or gives you a "burning in the "bosom" it doesn't mean something is of GOD...The bible warned us about false prophets arising and sounding like "angels of light"..mormons need to get honest about ascribing credibility to joseph smith and his "angel of light" (moroni)..the history is there that smith was immoral ("whoredom"), a criminal (bank fraud) and a liar to his own church..(1844 NAUVOO EXPOSITOR)

  • dimtry, you keep spamming the same exact stuff over and over again.

  • ..these are the immutable truths that confound cults like the mormons... i wiill continue to put forth those truths: there is no justification for any true believer in the Christ of the New Testament to belong to the mormon church founded by corrupt persons (joesph smith and brigham young) who perverted old testament verses and narrative to justify thrir immorality (polygamy and racism)....

  • In 1830 there were 6 true believers in Christ of the New Testament who officially formed The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Today there are over 13 million true believers in Christ of the New Testament who belong to the mormon church. Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were true Prophets of God. It is funny that people accuse mormons of being racist today, because back in the 1830's we were accused and reviled for being anti-slavery. We were not racist then. We are not racist now.

  • ...the numbers meant nothing ... you fellow cults the the jehovah wintesses and muslims are out-winning you mormons in the spread of false doctrines ...Scripture was very clear about the "numbers: when it said MANY would be decived by satan who would come as an "angel of light"...

  • dimtry wrote: "Scripture was very clear about the "numbers: when it said MANY would be decived by satan who would come as an "angel of light""

Yes, I would say that by the time of Constantine's post-biblical creeds and government take-over of christianity, many were deceived. And many many people still today continue to be bought into the post-biblical creed notions today.

  • The burning in the bosom was certainly considered reliable by the Christians of the New Testament. They refer to it (Luke 24:32) and considered it a witness that Jesus was their Savior. As for the accusations, you might want to investigate them further. Depending on hearsay is never reliable.

  • ...how subjective and deceptive that "burning in the bosom" argument...so if i follow your twisted thinking buddhists and muslims are also consistent with luke 24:32?...i doubt it... in Christian theology truth is absolute and not relative or according to how strong your emotions are when you feel someting ......

  • Again, the experience is exactly what is described in Luke, not simply an emotional experience. But one must experience it to know the difference (see 1 cor. 2:14), as I have. I invite you to obtain a copy of the Book of Mormon and read it. See if it is a third testament of Jesus Christ, as Latter-day Saints claim. What do you have to lose?

  • ..No, archaeologistprof ... your argument reminds of the serpent enticing Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit in the garden of eden to "enhance" knoeledge .. i would be in violation of scripture to "open the door" to a false doctrine ...to true beliveving chtristians "other testaments" like your book of mormon, the koran etc are violations of Rev.22:18...why would i want to jeopardise my salvation?..read the curse attached to that verse for those wsho promote "another testament"...

  • dimtry, I asked before and you didn't answer. God's words are recorded in scripture by prophets. You say God speaks today. Where are you prophets today? You keep claiming Joseph Smith is not a prophet. But where are your prophets today? Could it be that you don't have any, so you are left to just oppose the true prophets?
