  • this is just awesome!! i love your choice in characters :)

  • I loooooove your video ! :D

  • i lov both movies

  • Avatar is a copy of Atlantis (and a little bit of Pocahontas) with blue people and amazing special effects:p The only thing that changes is that Kida is more badass and Milo is smarter than Sully (who's a little like John).

  • for some reason when i saw the guy with glasses i thought he should aslo be in the trailer for captian america when he is small and thin and stuff

  • Wooooooooooooooooow this is a fantastic Trailer...with Atlantis that is my favourite Film...What could I have more??? :D

  • Invading new territory and trying to take over it for things like minerals, fuel, etc aren't original. Its a comon concept and wars have been fought in real life history outside of movie and tv show time. There's countless films that portray this idea. So no one is stealing ideas from anyone. Very interesting though and very well put together~

  • @ElephantsOnParade13 The specific characters are little too similar for my taste... The trigger-happy antagonist who sees the native species as dirt and has a scar on his face. The Latina mechanic that forms a bond with the protagonist. The fact that both of the women that fall in love with the outsider are stubborn and wild, both having a love for their people and nature, both daughters of a chief who ends up dying. (No more space.) But you are correct, except the natives don't usually win.

  • I like it!!! I did'nt think this would be possible to make!

  • does the girl that a tomboy on 0:42 is the same on on the avatar movie????? uk with the one flying on the plane :D!!!

  • was that the mom from peter pan??

  • Hahaha ! Audrey looks like the other girl !

  • how do you make trailers like that? I'm new to youtube and I'd like to make trailers. Could you please tell me?

  • @DayDream3000 First of all,You will need an editing software and the movies(if you are interested,i can send them to you). Then, all you need is to get familiar with the editing program and have fresh video ideas:)

  • If you see Atlantis and Avatar you will see that they are very similiar...

  • wow i never realized how similar these to movies r

    You rock.

  • that's TOTALLY AMAZING! <3

  • Yet another awesome mashup!! :)

  • dude amazing! theres just one thing i wish you had.....the notorious sex scene....not like vividly but the indication that those 2 characters were romantically linked....but i cant complainthat was awesome

  • AWSOME!

  • i was expecting him at the end to say "THIS IS SPARTAAAAAA"

  • Atlantis, TLK2, Pocahontas, Dances with Wolves, Ferngully

    Avatar

    HMMM ANYONE SEE A CONNECTION?

  • @freakyanimegal8

Don't forget he also borrowed from Princess Mononoke, Castle in The Sky (aka Laputa), Nausicaa of The Valley of the Wind, Heavy Metal, Fantastic Planet, Lightyears (Gandahar), Last of the Mohicans, Dune, Wizards and My Neighbor Totoro.

  • Great job! Lyke, really great! But who did you use for Grace? I didn't recognize her.

  • @Lyssnbeck I think grace is Wendy from Peter Pan II.

  • avatar was shit. they glorified it with the blue giants who glowed in the dark (sound a bit familiar to another movie where the people glowed? or maybe... sparkled...) And a bunch of drama. (...again. Familiar?)

  • this went together so perfectly!!! :D you're amazing!!! ^w^!!!

    it's the perfect match!!

  • yeah... you are the best at this stuff. it makes you believe that this is really the disney version of big, popular movies!!! its pretty awesome

  • avatar totaly copied this and pocahontas! and these two desney classics are waaaaaaay better than the very stupid predictable and commercial movie!!!

  • @DeSPoTNemanjaS

WRONG, Avatar was written in 1993! don't people bother to do their research nowadays like i do. He had the idea since 1989 and he wrote an 80 page screenplay in 1993, he wanted to film the movie for a 1999 release he announced in 1997. He decided to put the script in a drawer waiting a decade for technology to evolve and satisfy his vision for the movie as he felt make-up, animatronics and stuff would look stupid. He greenlighted the movie in 2005 after being convinced by LOTR

  • @Johnlindsey289 ok i gues you are right but still it's a predictable patetic movie full of cliches.

  • @DeSPoTNemanjaS

Do you think Avatar is as good as Cameron's stuff like True Lies, Aliens and Terminator 1 & 2?

  • @Johnlindsey289 i don't like them much because it's all commercial stuff just like avatar

  • Those movies are way to similar! xD but I love em!

  • OH. MY. GOD. brilliant!

  • wow! the stories are pretty similar aren't they?

  • Really good^^ But I think that helga should be Grace instead:3 Just what i think..

  • After watching this I regret that I can`t remove for a moment an Avatar and Atlantis film, to see how I would have imagined this movie will be ;)

  • the movies are practicly the same thing

  • ZOMG AWESOME!!!

  • That was awesome :) nicely done

  • i love this movie both avatar and atlantis!

  • this was really good!

  • Aw snap! Awsome crossover!

  • avatar et atlantide ont beaucoup de similitude au final, même en ce qui conserne les personnages^^

  • THIS IS HILARIOUS!

  • amazing! :)

  • was there a moment from the Road to El Dorado in there? the giant cat? was that in atlantis? i havent seen it in sooo long

  • @28whale the giant cat is from the road to el dorado:)

  • Awesome :D

  • Holy shitake mushrooms you have a gift. Haha this was the best disney/Avatar trailer i have ever seen. You did a freakin flawless job and i truly commend you :D

  • @CrystalSky175 Thank you so much!!!

  • lol nice job making them blue

  • This is perfect!

  • I find it INSANELY ironic that halfway through watching Avatar I turned to my brother and said, "This movie is LITERALLY Pocahontas meets Atlantis in space. That pilot chick IS Audrey from Atlantis!!!" Attention James Cameron - Disney beat you to it. GREAT job btw!!! Amazing :)

  • @Ttitansfan yea,they look just the same!!!

  • @Ttitansfan I thought the EXACT same thing! :D

I was like "Did Cameron copy Pocahontas and Atlantis or what, 'cause it's like I've seen this before."

  • @DanishAnimalFreak1

Nope AVatar was written in 1993 before those two movies, he had the idea first since 1989

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yes, but when I wrote that comment I didn't think about that Avatar might be "older" than Pocahontas and Atlantis. Therefore, I overreacted a little about the whole "Avatar is practically Pocahontas and Atlantis together"-thing.

Don't bother listening to that comment. It's almost a year old and I've got a different opinion now.

  • @DanishAnimalFreak1

Did Avatar reminded you of Castle in The Sky at times? Cameron is an animation/anime fan and also loves Ghibli movies. He did used the same floating islands, robots and floating crystals from CITS and did Avatar also reminded you of Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa and Totoro at times? he threw in some Ghibli elements as well in the film. There's the toxic jungle of Nausicaa including the masks, tomekian village attack and ending and even the giant tree from Mononoke

  • @Johnlindsey289 I'm sorry, but I haven't seen any of those movies, though I really want to and should have watched them long ago. I'm sure they all remind of Avatar.

But the movie that really reminded me of Avatar was FernGully the Last Rainforest. The whole concept seemed to remind me of it.

  • @DanishAnimalFreak1

Only it's ferngully for adults. You should also watch here on youtube the excellent 1973 animated French/Czech animated masterpiece Fantastic Planet which can be seen on youtube and was a major influence for Avatar and you'll see why.

  • @Ttitansfan pocahontas, atlantis, dances with wolves and fern gully the last rainforest. Plus some others i forgot but they ALL follow the same formula.

  • @ToboeOkamiKiba

What about Princess Mononoke, Castle in The Sky, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Heavy Metal and 1973's Fantastic Planet? seen those? those are also similar to Avatar

  • @Johnlindsey289 hmm.. of those you have listed, I have only seen princess mononoke. But i liked it for the animation and the plot. (not the story-line... does that even make sense?) hope i didn't confuse you xP

  • @Ttitansfan thats exactly what i said when i saw it and no one believed me.....pffff shows what they know lol

  • @Ttitansfan My thoughts exactly!

  • @Ttitansfan

Cameron wrote the script before those 2 movies in 1993 did you know that? Cameron had the idea since 1989 and had his script of 80 pages in 1993 but he wanted a 1999 release as he then felt he had to wait for technology to satisfy his vision.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I'm sorry. He must have gotten the plot from Ferngully and Dances with Wolves instead. Both of which came out before he started writing the script in 1994. James Cameron was not the first person to come up with this plot line and I'm certain he won't be the last. It doesn't change the fact that after what I'm SURE were countless rewrites of his original script (No final script is ever the same as the original) it still resembles Atlantis and Pocahontas. Sorry, my opinion stands.

  • @Ttitansfan

Cameron did rewrote the script in 2004, he got the plot in his head before DWW or Ferngully as he wrote the plot and idea on a piece of paper in 1989 as he put it in his desk.

Did Avatar also reminded you of Princess Monononoke, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in The Sky (aka Laputa), Dune, Star Wars, Fantastic Planet and even Heavy Metal?

  • @Johnlindsey289 DWW was a book before it was a movie. It was written in the mid-1980s and published in 1988. The movie went into production in July of 1989. The only one of those movies mentioned that I've seen is Star Wars which is kind of similar but not really. I'm just saying that if you compare the characters/plot of Atlantis/Pocahontas and Avatar side by side a lot matches up. Especially that characters from Atlantis and Avatar. They even look and act the same.

  • @Ttitansfan

If you haven't seen Princess Mononoke, Nausicaa and Castle in The Sky, please rent them and see why they also inspired Avatar. Also watch Fantastic Planet here on youtube which is an awesome 1973 adult animated French/Czech animated movie that influenced this movie.

  • @Johnlindsey289 I will for sure try to check them out. :)

  • haha ace. it is pretty much the same story.. !! D:

  • i loved the movie avatar but it seems like the story line is the same as dances with wolves

  • @musicfreak2112

Don't forget Cameron also borrowed from Dune, Star Wars, Castle in The SKy, Mononoke, Pom Poko, Heavy Metal, Fantastic Planet, LightYears (Gandahar), Willow and Nausicaa.
