@Rohit It is never a waste by performing abhishek to Lord Vittala the divine consciousness emitted from murti is trillion times more beneficial to human race. This cannot be understood by our limited intellect, as spiritual dimension is beyond ones motor organs, sense organs, mind, intellect and chitta. Only one starts doing spiritual practice without any expectation, one starts getting spiritual experiences and the subtle vision of God. This will further fuel and transforms into devotion.
I think god would be much happier if these guys had fed this milk, honey, yougurt and butter to some starving person than to waste it on a murti. I always debate even my parents when it comes to wasting nutritional resources.....i wish we can make some alteration this age old meaningless practice. You dont have to agree with me its just my opinion.
@Rohit84up Nothing stops you from feeding poor people, please go ahead. I always think only a few litres of milk goes to the deity for its upkeep.......and the foods goes to the priets and their families. The stone who bear the deity too need nourishment hence it is offerred milk which is a high source of natural protein. Vithala will be very happy when his devotees are fed. You can start your journey with the divine service of offering food to his devotees....Jai Vithala.....
totally agreed . . . this ritual is ok if compared to others . . like when the yadnya of ganeshaatharvasheersha is performed 1000(!!!) modakas are just burnt in the yadnya thinking that it reaches the god . . !! soo stupid . .
