lebron doesn't develop a team the way kobe does, kobe raises the level of play of the other players, coaches them while on the court, thats why he doesn't have the assist and rebound numbers lebron does, kobe crafted a championship team, lebron can't do that yet, thats why this shaq thing isn't working, cause the team is still basically lebron and anyone who can knock down a jumpshot every once in a while, give kobe lebron's team and they'd have a title

I must say in addition, the other reason Shaq isn't working in Cleveland is precisely because their other bigs CAN'T hit a jumpshot once in a while. Shaq had Grant, Horry and Haslem all able to stretch the lanes with good mid-range shooting and let Shaq or Kobe/Wade occupy the post or drive. Watch defenders hang off guys like Varajao this year, clogging the lane and snuffing out all the space.

as much as i hate to say this, yes, bill's 11 rings are kinda overrated, however, Russell is one of the best C who has ever played the game. But you could have rings but it doesn't mean you're good. I mean if you earn it like Kobe, Duncan etc, then yeah it means something. If you're just gonna come off the bench for 3m and get a championship, it doesnt mean anything. By records I mean team's records. It doesn't really mean anything, every team has their moments.

the problem with russel's 11 rings is that he had 4 or 5 hof's in his team, while the teams he played against chamberlain in philly, west and baylor in LA really only had themselves until 1973. Great C nonetheless.

dude the competition was shit back then if you knew any history of basketball a lot of the refs would call him for goal tending simply because they had never even seen someone block a shot that left someones hand before. They also moved the free throw line back because of him. He played against non athletic white guys who were on average a lot smaller than him. He had about 2 or 3 guys in the entire league who could compete against him. Know your stuff thats way overrated dude.

Back then there were only a select few great hitters and pitchers. So great players stats were inflated. Now the talent is more pervasive so averages go down. Same in NBA competition is better. U obviously dont play. I have friends who are very skilled and fundamentally sound players but not athletes. When they go up against people who arent as skilled but quick, fast and incredible jumpers its impossible for them to compete. Coaches look at a more skilled non athletic guy the a ridiculous athlete and say shit if i can teach the athlete what the skilled guy knows he will be the best.
