When this was in the charts at the end of the 70s, I worked in a hotel at Manchester Airport. Actually, it was the only hotel at the airport at the time (Excelsior, now Crowne Plaza). The memories it invokes are priceless. It almost felt like it was written for us at the time. Wonderful.

memories memories! a classic contribution to the best years of music, can someone explain why for example in 1983 I and many others my age wouldn't listen to anything that was over 5 years old and certainly not listen to anything from the 60's YET now I'm quite happy trawling through Youtube hunting and listening to the mid to late 70's music and upto 1985 music, and why do I notice that the production, quality content, arrangement and lyrics are better than todays efforts?
