@AL2000FL Roger created the concept and idea of the wall because of people like you, people who take drugs like acid, weed, or what ever and don't listen and understand the music!
As someone who has crossed the chronological mark of 60, this song has much more relevance than i could have imagined 40 years ago. I will, however, not delve in dispairity, but rather relish memories of youth and reflect on a life of experience and reward. Enjoy the ride !!!

Why in the hell does the corrupt Obumma government have "Pass the Obama jobs bill" plastered all over each video? This state sponsored propaganda blitz is worse than any communist nation!
The music of Pink Floyd resonates with many truth seekers and mind explorers who delve into the unknown. If you are a truth seeker, search "Truth Contest" in Google and click on the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says. Everyone needs to see this. The Present will turn this world right-side up if it reaches enough people. You will see what I mean when you read the first page.
great studio recordings are usually tough for any band to beat , but the floyd, did it here LIVE!!!
and that solo ...oh my goodness!!!..breathtaking man. almost as if being behind that wall made them concentrate even more. i've listened to the live version about as much as the studio version.
Fuck off potheads, I listen to psychedelic every day, it's my genre. I don't need any bullshit to appreciate this song. You know what's better than weed, knowing how to play this song on guitar, which I do and it makes it 10x times better.

@TheLaceratedSky Well it's never too late to discover the Floyd. Just make sure you don't limit yourself to The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, and Wish You Were Here. While they are the most commercially popular, everything they ever put out is great.
God I love this song...it's just so lazy and dark, but in a peaceful, hypnotic, trancelike way. Perfect for basking in the sun and enjoying the breeze
I mean just give it a thought will you, when this song was finished, the internet had a few computers, cellulars were not even a concept, the soviet union was still around, and the best of all is that THE 80S WERE THE FUTURE!!!
@smmanoha tv wasnt all reality crap yet.some tv sucked back then but it was mostly better.although back then there were times when you had"13 channel of shit to choose from"Now at times you have 300 to 500 channels of shit.
@musicdork4ever Dude, if you wanna hear him sound so close to the actual CD that he sounds like he's lip syncing, listen to "Don't Leave Me Now" on this same playlist. Roger Waters is amazing!
@sjheitsche I did that a few days ago actually, and I favorited it! it was an interesting performance. Roger's voice was almost identical with the studio version. amazing!
Help me to carry the stone. Straight lyricmaker Roger the arrow heart-bound... still sisyphos moves on seems none of us or few or shall I say LESS of us are able to fight down them worms and blow the wall to kingdome come. Together we´re strong divided we fall, we fall, we fall....out =/
@Azimuth95 It's sooooooo good <3. I can't say he's the best, I don't know. I can't say he's the best singer either. But I love this song so much. I can't describe how much in 500 letters. The lyrics, the music... I'm like 'Ohhhh, my God' every time I listen to it. And I believe his voice makes it even better. I don't know if other people feel the same way. I've said that again, his voice just brings me to my knees, it makes my heart melt. To me, it's the best. It's magical.
Looks like Snowy White is playing the Nashville tuned Ovation acoustic for the live versions from The Wall shows...you can barely make him out behind Gilmour toward the end where they show the band behind the wall...very cool!
Pink has built a wall, now he calls for help from those that are like him, lonely. He sits by the phone calling his ex wife, but she doesn't answer, "sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me?"," but it was only a fantasy, the wall was too high as you can see"
Although he knows that it's a fantasy, He cries again "Can you help me!?" and "Don't tell me there's no hope at all!" from despair even though he knows that's the case.
People, as long as we stand together, the bricks will fall.
@thesingledream Herr, it's not about the Berlin Wall, listen to the album and to the lyrics again... It's about the schizophrenia of the main character, Pink, caused by his teachers, his ex-girlfriend and his father's death. Pink is hiding himself behind a wall to run away from his life, cause he "doesn't need anything at all". Once the wall is complete, he realizes his mistake and try to get out, without success. That's what the song is about, nothing to do with the Berlin wall.
Best Live Song I LOVE this song and this version is so amazing!!!! I made it a cover myself I tried my best hehe... >.> I hate to try publish it lol but XD.. it is in my channel.. anyways this is awesome!!!!!!!!!
He managed to build the wall around himself so high and shut everyone out that now his cries for help are unheard. He is calling out for help but nobody can hear him. It's almost like screaming but no sound coming out of your mouth.
OR maybe he's crying out to himself. maybe these thing are all him. maybe he's telling himself to not give in without a fight and end up in the ground barried and eaten by worms. hum...
A very good observation, I think you hit it right on the head. Many of the songs done in the wall album were in reflection to Syd Barrett (I believe) having a mental disorder (Schizophrenia I believe again) and his experiences in a mental hospital. In fact the song comfortably numb is about the types of drugs he was put on during his stay there.
i love how pink floyd makes their live songs more awsome by puting props on the stage or playing the video of a song like goodbye blue sky, it makes it 10000x more awsome
One of the darkest but also one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs.

@Cenarrion It's about the Berlin Wall, not drugs and ex wifes X_X
thesingledream 7 months ago
@thesingledream Herr, it's not about the Berlin Wall, listen to the album and to the lyrics again... It's about the schizophrenia of the main character, Pink, caused by his teachers, his ex-girlfriend and his father's death. Pink is hiding himself behind a wall to run away from his life, cause he "doesn't need anything at all". Once the wall is complete, he realizes his mistake and try to get out, without success. That's what the song is about, nothing to do with the Berlin wall.

@thesingledream You clearly know nothing about Pink Floyd

He managed to build the wall around himself so high and shut everyone out that now his cries for help are unheard. He is calling out for help but nobody can hear him. It's almost like screaming but no sound coming out of your mouth.
OR maybe he's crying out to himself. maybe these thing are all him. maybe he's telling himself to not give in without a fight and end up in the ground barried and eaten by worms. hum...

@Thesary94

So Roger wasn't playing the bass in this? Bass pedals for David or RIck then?

i love how pink floyd makes their live songs more awsome by puting props on the stage or playing the video of a song like goodbye blue sky, it makes it 10000x more awsome
