The whole "food cart phenomena" is relatively recent. We always had the hotdog and pretzel stands all over the city, and the Jamaican food carts uptown, and the old lady with the Mexican pastry things on the West Side.

Now you have college grads (excuse me, I mean "entrepreneurs") with their "gourmet" food carts full of overpriced shit that you can get in any store.
