Jose Aldo did make Faber look like he should not be in there...and that says how good Aldo is. Aldo is the best fighter in that weight class now and that's why Faber moved down a weight class.
You sure about that? That fight was a great fight. Nobody made Urijah go 5 rounds in the featherweight division before Jens. Jens is an amazing fighter with a vicious left hook bra. If Urijah wanted to build up to 155 he could come over to the UFC and dominate almost everyone in that weight class. I think he could actually put up a better fight than anyone at 155 for BJ right now. BJ's next fight is with Diego, and BJ's gonna destroy him, and Urijah would beat Diego IMO. Get your head straight.
yeah jens is a nobody considering that fact that he's even beat bj penn and yeah urijah is a has been even though he just made a black belt in bjj tap out.
that could be part of it but he said in an interview that the cornrows were because Jens was making fun of his "precious locks of hair and his golden tan" so he decided to show him hes not just a pretty boy
looks never matter but Urijah Faber looks like he didnt even fight cant say the same for jens .. they both are great fighters .. both have great heart .. but im cali all day so i got to go with the california kid
Faber could easily pack on 10 pounds and have a great fight with B.J. I have studied this game for a long time, and I honesly believe that Urijah is the best lightweight fighter in the world. Yes, better than B.J. However, there is only one way to find out. Isn't WEC owned by UFC? Should be no problem making some amazing fights happen.
Yes the WEC is owned by Zuffa the same company that owns the UFC. Urijah has stated many times that he is most comfortable at his current weight. When he went up a weight class he found it very difficult to keep on the weight.
Wow. Calm down. I know he fights at 145. I think he could pack on the 10 pounds and do some damage. He has never been in the UFC, so he has never had the chance to fight various top level guys. No need to call people "gay" or "moron" to make your point. I have two black belts in Judo and Shotokan, and I'm studying Krav and BJJ right now. These disciplines are about respect and not calling people names simply because you disagree about a fighter. We would be friends in the dojo, comrade.
Interesting theory. It's my experience that the most humble guys in the dojo are the best fighters. I have tested this theory, and it is usually true. True fighters not need any hype or bullshit. Witness Fedor. Very few challenge me in sparring. They know that they will get worse than they give. They fear me, and they should. If young bucks need a hook to the side of the head, they call me over. No, my friend, you must watch out for the quiet master in the corner. He will take your head off.
The internet has definitely created a subculture of people (like yourself) who feel the need to insult simply because someone offers an opinion. You are so bold via YouTube and so timid in the dojo.
I suspect you are young and insecure. It shows in every sentence you attempt to construct. Again, your words speak volumes, but you are so ignorant you would not know what those volumes are.
why do u even bother explaining to this ignorant fuck all this stuff...he's obviously still living the dream lol wanting to be something he will never achieve hahhahaha
HAHAHAHAH I should feel dissed but that was probably the worst diss someone's ever said to me...get a physical to make sure your not a woman? GOOD ONE BRO GOOD ONE...Continue Living The Youtube Dream, brah.
This guy has major issues. Big chip on the shoulder and serious issues with his own masculinity. Freud would have a field day with the WorldExtremeCholo. Although I doubt he has heard of Freud.
Once again, you continue to prove my points. A person such as yourself who feels the need to prove his masculinity to such absurd lengths is obviously denying his own homosexuality. You need to accept the fact that you are a quite clearly a latent homosexual. Your posts scream it. Accept the fact that you are gay and move on. You think that the more profanity you use, the more heterosexual you become. It's not working, and you need to face up to who you really are. Stop living a lie.
@pitbull103 Urijah has known for quite some time now that the WEC and the UFC would merge so maybe with this in the mind of urijah it give's good reason for his moving down to bantam weight so when the it all happened he would not have to face the already much larger 155'ers who already cut weight just to make it to 155. Urijah is tough however he would not be much at all in the lightweight division.
@WorldExtremeCholo Agreed. I wrote that comment 2 years ago, and things have changed quite a bit. Aldo rules at 145, and the weight cuts just get more extreme every year.
I agree that the 155 guys are relatively huge now, but I also think that speed advantages will come to play more than ever in MMA. Velasquez may well be the future of heavyweights -- about 245 with super cardio and great speed. Those guys can often beat the HUGE guys -- IF the huge guys don't connect.
@pitbull103 just my opinion, but i think faber is too small for the 155ers. hes my height 5'6, but as he is in the ufc now with the 135'ers i really think he is gunna dominate that weight class! i really wanna see him take out dominic cruz again. but then again i really wanna see joseph fight him again and take the belt from him. either way the whole team (alpha male) are great fighters and i love to see people my size whoopass!
he wanted his hair in cornrows because he didn't want his hair to be a nuisance in the fight. just about the smartest thing someone should do before a fight, i never knew why clay guida didn't give it a try.
He could easily drop to 135 (he used to wrestle at 133) and be great (Torres would be a challenge - he's nuts). You know who should drop to 145? Matt Serra. He'd do great at 155.
As for the comments about BJ and Jens:
1. Jens is older now.
2. BJ is better now.
3. Urijah trained with BJ for this fight.
4. "If he kept it standing..." is *NOT* a valid argument in MMA. A win is a win, a loss is a loss. There are bad calls though.
I love Urijah Faber!! but Jens Pulver is such a nice, respectable class act personality, that I really did not mind if Pulver ended up winning! overall it was the greatest WEC fight ive seen to date!
yeah he would totally get owned by bj. but i would still like to see him go to the ufc so he can fight some real compitition. tired of all these easy fights and him thinking that jens puts an end to that arguement. cuz it doesn't. i'm sure he would lose alot more in the stacked lightweight div in the ufc. or any other major mma
by no means did bj penn own Jens, he beat him with a rear-naked, yes, but he didn't own him, did you even watch the fight? Had Jens kept it standing, I believe there would have been a far different outcome. No, Urijah would not get totally owned by BJ either, in fact, I think it'd be a great fight. We'll have to wait and see what happens with Urijah and the UFC.
i dont know if i agree with you here dude! Its not like Jens Pulver did any damage to Urijah in their fight, so its kinda unfair say this..besides Jens Pulver had the weight, but he did not have the build to fight in the lightweight division, but Urijah is a monster, he would fit in well in Penn's class, id pay to see that fight anyday.
they might as well blow each other, why didnt jens throw more lefts? it was a pretty good fight though, urija should jump over to the ufc and fight b.j.
Man, this was one of the best fights I've ever seen. Pulver can take a punch like no one else. Damn near anyone else would've been KO'd in round 2 with the punishment Faber was throwing out. Highlight of the fight, the both of them with the leg lock on each other, IMO.
Gomi is much more powerful puncher than Jens and 4 years younger and wouldn't run out of gas like Jens. In the ground he's no slouch either. Gomi knocked Jens Pulver in the 2nd round unlike Faber who couldn't even knock him down or even choke him for 5 rounds.
To be honest I'm a huge Faber fan, but watching this fight made me a Pulver fan too. I didnt think he would be able to keep up with Urijah and maybe he didnt but he did go the distance and had no excuses and nothing but class afterwards.
Jens is past his prime, but he is still an excellent and exciting fighter. Not sure where he goes from here. Might be a good time to open up the studio, put on the ghi, and teach.
I'd like to say that Jens in his prime would beat Faber in his prime, but honestly I'm not completely sure of that (besides, I don't think we've seen Faber in his prime yet). I think Jens would win, but it would probably be an even closer decision than this one was.
As much as I dislike the young punk, Faber is an unbelievably good fighter, and I think he's still getting better.

One of the best if not the best fights I've ever seen. Both men have my complete admiratoin and respect. Ive always been a Pulver fan and not so much Uriah. After seeing his preformance here my attitude toward him has changed. He is awesome and will be champ for a long time..On the other hand this is the first time we've seen him hurt by another fighter, or at least show it, I think it was in the third, So he is human...
