I would definitely like to agree with you but the problem is that the Cayenne is Porsche most profitable model. The profit from it subsidises some of their more exotic stuff. The Panamera has been brought out to satisfy customers who now dont want to be seen in a typical huge 4x4 like the Cayenne anymore which particularly in Europe are starting to get a bad image.
The chayanne looks like only the front was designed and they forgot about the rest, they are now doing the opposite with this one. A Lexus LS looks better. Seriously Porsche designers are the lamest in the business, seem as though they've been on a coffee break for the last 30 or so years.

You're right. But it still has been a success (at least here in the states). My dealer says it saved their ass in recent years because not enough people were buying cars. I love my Carrera and could never own a Cayenne - but there are plenty of people who do.....

Perhaps people are right in thinking that porsche is moving further away from their roots but from their perspective, they have been sitting very comfortably because porsches are the top everyday exotics. Porsche knows this so they have started to experiment probably to take charge of that foothold.

they sold about 150 000 cayenne and im sure they will sell a lot of this too, im sure all the camos make the car look ugly' its porsche and they have taste for details; it should come up pretty good. we'll see.

You're right. But it still has been a success (at least here in the states). My dealer says it saved their ass in recent years because not enough people were buying cars. I love my Carrera and could never own a Cayenne - but there are plenty of people who do.....

Perhaps people are right in thinking that porsche is moving further away from their roots but from their perspective, they have been sitting very comfortably because porsches are the top everyday exotics. Porsche knows this so they have started to experiment probably to take charge of that foothold.
Do I agree with it? Not 100% but the fact that the cayenne even sold is amazing. I guess they are just trying some things out.

As a Ferrari (F430) and Porsche (997 911 Turbo) owner I see Porsche slipping even further away from its sporting heritage with the oncoming trainwreck dubbed Panamera. WTF are they thinking? Did Pontiac design this abortion? Zero points for style! No wonder Porsche continues to take a backseat to Ferrari with their soulless appliances. I had a Cayenne Turbo S (complete piece of shit!) and I thought that was the bottom of the barrel. Now this? Stick to 911's gents. Wake me when its over!
