A little respect would serve you well. I do get it. I just post an opinion and I'm flamed by people like yourself. I am running an Ubuntu pc at home, and I love it. But, as a software developer, I make a living off of software. If all you need is a citation do satisfy you, I respect that, but a paycheck is all the thanks I need for my code. Besides, I'm pretty sure that most Linux users only care about the financial aspect of "free" when it comes to Linux. I doubt you've contributed and code.

I agree that it's nice to have free software. But honestly, I don't have a problem with Microsoft or Apple wanting to sell a product. How is software different from other products? Microwaves, magazine subscriptions, why aren't they free as well. It's like I painted a beautiful painting, and I wanted to sell it to an art collector, only he wanted it for free, and then he proceeded to draw on it, and photocopy it, and redistribute it. I don't have a problem with linux, I love it.
Software isn't worth anything monetarily because it is written. The supply is infinite while the demand is finite. Things like microwaves cost money because they require physical supplies to create, leaving the supply finite and the demand finite.
@dodopod Without software the cpu is useless. Look at the market value of software companies and compare that with your worthless bank account. The demand is scalable in which if there is a demand the need will be filled. Oh and programming languages just like all languages have an infinite amount of things you can say and do.
your opinion is so right but in the mean time those people are trying to help "technologically" those who are not able to buy these kinds of software also to be able to generate those genious people who can help to imporve the growth in this feild by providing them with these products for free that is the point here to balance between the individual use and the imporvment of the human being in the technology feild m so i agree microsoft has the right to sell it's products totally their right..

@superELRICBROS:
Your argument would make a bit more sense if paintings were useful rather than beautiful :P

@superELRICBROS
again not free in no money. People who start an open source program earn money with that program.

WTF
If you're going to call this part 2, actually pick up where you left off with part 1.
This seems to jump a head quite a bit.
Call it clip 2 not part 2.
