  • i love that she didn't change the lyrics........*sigh.... <3

  • I like this girl, plain and simple

  • She owns this...I would love to hear the Boss do it with just a piano.

  • Her voice is great but her piano playing is really mediocre. Tori Amos covered this song a lot better especially with her piano playing skills.

  • DL the audio from this tune at thetunify doht cohm.

  • Where can I buy this version?? I've looked everywhere and can't find it

  • Yeah, I would like to buy this verson also. Any help in locating it would be great.

  • @po95 there are plenty of website out there that will convert youtube vids to mp3 files, just type youtube-mp3 conversion into your favorite search engine.

  • her voice is just awesome. bottom line.

  • A female vocal could not have handled this song any better than this. Miss Bareilles gets 10/10 from me. x

  • @Mikyevanescence you must be trolling

  • this chick is the real deal

  • Middle of my "skull" not "soul"....

  • @reed311 wrong. According to Bruce's official site, it's "a six-inch valley

through the middle of my soul". It's also that according to my ears.

  • this song reminds me for some reason of Lolita. though her dad isn't exactly in the story..

  • Very nice

  • beautiful song, beautiful woman. good combo.

  • She should do a studio version of this song.

  • Tori Amos conveys the feeling of mind-numbing desire perfectly in her cover. This one is just so whatever. It would have been better laced with the same emotion with which she sang Gravity- that exquisite feeling of tension in all bittersweet ejaculations about love.

  • @foxpassed Different artists, different styles. Both bring something to the table in their own style... Don't hate, it's make your look ugly

  • @foxpassed agree, this one is good but does not convey the meaning... I can't see fire here, mostly water...

  • if you liked this check out Matt Anderson's version of I'm on Fire, its brilliant

  • if you liked this check out Matt Anderson's version of I'm on Fire. its brilliant

  • haunting

  • I enjoy the amount of emotion that Sara puts into each of her songs, whether or not they are comparable to the original. In my opinion, her covers showcase her talents and abilities, and that's what I like about her.

  • I'm a complete snob, I could care less about Sara Bareilles. I would say you dare cover Bruce....but well done, love the play she plays it on the piano too. Very very nice. A+

  • I'm a big fa of Bruce. And now I am a big fan is Sara. This just gave me chills!

  • How can someone not like this? She puts a nice spin on that. Very well done!!

  • The simplicity of her playing with the subtle inflections of her voice make this a worthy and personal cover. While short, the ending couldn't be more perfect.

  • @triggerhappy6 I too like the simplicity as you say but that same note over and over kinda bugs me. Thumbs up overall

  • @allinedearmitt30 it's a song about sexual tension. plain and simple.

  • gorgeous voice, brilliant vocal performance. But the piano put me to sleep. most passionless playing ever.

  • I think Sara's great, but I have to be honest that I wasn't feeling it. I can really only hear Bruce singing this song.

  • Sweet cover, Sara, You Rock!!

  • How have I missed this? Huge Sara fan and this song is amazing. She did a phenomenal job.

Check out Ari Hest's version too...

  • niiice

  • This is so sterile and has none of the emotion conveyed by Springsteen. For an awesome, female cover of the song, check out Tori Amos. Her cover just drips sex and emotion.

  • @phatdaddysteve You may want to change your hearing aid batteries.

  • @nfldman1976 - My miracle ear works just fine. I just prefer performers that actually have talent.

  • @phatdaddysteve Uh. In what way does this girl have no talent? Okay, you don't like her take on this song - fine. But she's got a great voice, can play, and writes well. I'm not a big fan, but you can't honestly say she's untalented.

  • @snidelywhiplash - You are correct and I was being a bit too harsh. While not my type of music (I only came by to hear the cover), I must admit that Sara does have talent, unlike many of today's performers. I stand corrected.

  • I have NEVER laughed so hard. "No talent"? Ha! Please, she is so talented. If you don't think she's talented, then you must not not know what music is. Sara makes up the definition of "music" and "talent" and "art".

  • i love you sara! <3

  • I like her version better than Bruce......

  • @mred951 it sucks. its too slow. and she took the sexiness away.

  • ke voce..semplicemente stupenda...addirittura migliore dell'originale!!!

  • I like this version, it's raw, imperfect, and has the heartache of the original in it /watch?v=8eI97B0mWkg. I love Sara's music too, but for the I'm on fire covers out there, this is my personal fav.

  • Wauw, great cover!!!

  • awsome!

  • Often times, Springsteen covers may be good yet lack the passion or intensity of his original, or they may just outright be bad - this cover is neither of those things. I love Bruce's music and he's one of my favorites ever and I've got to say, Sara made this song her own. I wouldn't call it better than the original but damn, it's certainly up there nonetheless. Her voice and delivery are just so good. Easily one of the best "pop" musicians out there even though she transcends "pop" IMO.

  • amazing amazing cover

  • Pretty good, Tori Amos KILLS it, though. (in a good way)

  • i think this is better than the original :)

  • beautiful vocie no need for paino

  • Wow She go Talent!!!

  • Where can I get the music for this version?

  • I would love to buy this song, Sara. When will it be on iTunes? Love, your eagerly awaiting fan.

  • Bruce is an overrated overpaid musician. He gets credit for having a great band with him. Im not saying hes not talented, but I dont see him belting this by himself

  • @stpfan3 This girl might be a better singer, she hasn´t got the emotion or power Springsteen has. And above all, Springsteen is one of the greatest songwriters of all time.

  • I agree that no one compares to The Boss, but sometimes this suits me better than original. She kept the emotion of original version untouched and added just a little bit of her own style in arrangement. And that's the point of a good cover, to find the balance. Unlike other artists, she didn't kill the original song, she gave it a new life. Sara rocks! :)

  • Very tasty cover of this song. Sarah and Serena make the Boys look old.

  • 5 stars for making this song her own with out killing it

  • I don't care for the piano arrangement, but I'd pay to have her sing the phone book... she's captivating.

  • I really want the piano chords for this song... can anyone help me out!?

  • @teacherns

She plays the same interval the entire song with her right hand. I'm not at a keyboard but it sounds like the G-C interval. Then with her left hand she just plays the 1,4,5, and 6 in the bass. so its the G-C interval over C, F, G, and A.

  • loveeeee

  • It can't be even compared to Bruce version...

  • Agreed, BUT I don't think she's going for comparison. It seems more like she's showing the song from a new perspective.

    Anyway, I think it's awesome.

  • ...but you know I've listened to the original...so this one really seems awful to me if I think about the song sung by Bruce... I think that some songs can't be touched

  • ii think thats my aunt... ii have the same exact last name and its pronounced the same way... :O

  • BRILLIANT, true pureness to her voice...Good on you girl!!

  • her voice sounds haunting and complements the lyrics and tone of this song

  • wow this is a lot better than I expected it would be

  • well done, good version.

  • That looks like Joe's Pub in NYC, judging by the wall

  • way to sing with the BOSS you go girl

  • It's NOT "soul", it's "skull". Amateurs.

  • Reed311 is correct. Listen to the live versions!!!

  • A very real and very raw cover. Loved every second of it, absolutely awsome voice. Well done ma'am.

  • great cover!!! I like this one!!!!

  • As a major fan of "The Boss" I gotta say that Sara did an awesome job with that song!!

  • chillz....

  • better than the boss, yeah i said it.

  • It is very difficult to cover Springsteen. There's almost always something missing. But this version by Sara Bareilles isn't missing anything. She added much to it, and made it her own. Wow.

  • I want iPhone version

  • They need her solo version for iPhone she really sings this by her self good love her voice please make iPhone version

  • What are you even talking about?

  • I prefer Bruce. It's ok. I think that Serena did better at covering one of Bruces songs that Sarah

  • Comment removed

  • Nothing ever compares to Bruce, but this is pretty damn good. She is great.

  • "in the middle of my SKULL", please!

  • i cant get over how good this cover is!

  • great version =)

  • I want to see the video with two hot chicks

  • This is fucking incredible...? Her voice fits the lyrics perfectly! I usually hate covers! Simply Amazing!

  • As a huge Boss fan, I will say that this a pretty version.

  • Incredible

  • oh, no. this version doesn't even get close. it misses the love, the urge and everything that makes the song what it is.

    sorry

  • I agree with you...she´s nice, but nothing compared to Bruce.

  • this version is cute. but Bruce's original is, like everything he does, gut wrenching and superior to just about anything around it. this is a good tribute, but the Boss is the Boss.

  • well said!!

  • I agree with gameranger10. I love it and would never have found it had it not been for being a fan of Bruce and as a result of his appearance on stage with The Gaslight Anthem who ROCK!

  • Wow.. and to think, I would've never uncovered this if i wouldnt of been a bruce fan... Im completely blown away...

  • Buen dia my friends

The Best cover of this song is the Cover of HEATHER NOVA.

Search for "Heather Nova I'm on Fire" and feel the amazing feeling in her voice!!!

I hope you like it too....

    see ya in Germany..... ciao!

  • I seen that, in my opinion it was not better than Sara Bareillies. Heather Nova tried to mess with the words too much.

So far I have not seen someone Cover one of the Boss's songs like Sara Bareillies with, "I'm on Fire".

  • i am blown away by this! she has the perfect voice for covering this song.

  • großes lob aus big germany!

    good song, and beautiful voice!

  • the singing is beautiful....but that piano can drive you crazy....

  • couldn't agree more :)

  • I think it cannot be compared to the one of Bruce.........

  • voice is beautiful, but i keep focussing on that same tone from the piano, after a while that same tone is irritating me.....

  • Exactly the same for me.

It started perfect and ended with the furious will to take her right hand and put it somewhere else on the keyboard :o)

A pity cause I thought I found the best cover ever heard for this song.

  • Wow. Gave me the chills. Just as good if not better than the original Bruce version.

  • i love both of them ...

  • rock n roll babydoll, rock n roll

  • breathtaking.

  • Beautiful version, the song really suits a female voice

  • I love this cover, its wonderful. Damn, I wanna play Joe's Pub

  • love this!! :)

  • Beautiful voice - nice job.

  • 5 Stars ... for a good reason!!

    What a stunning voice!

  • Awesome.

  • absolulely amazing cover

  • awsome voice sarah!!!

  • what an incredible voice...

Makes the song her own, but keeps the spirit

  • what a voice....

  • WOW! Im a big Bruce fan but this is definitley tha best version of this song Ive heard! BEAUTIFUL!!

  • What a voice.. just spine tingling .. chilling.. like the song.. amazing :)

  • Sarah has agreat voice and is one singer who has done this song justice. I been following Bruce Springsteen for 25 years and I think he would like this cover.

  • she should get her ass to ireland

  • Sara Bareilles,

This is a deeply touching a beautiful rendition.. I love it!

    Catfish :)

  • wonderful.

  • Sara, how bout doin Innocent when you dream for us ?

  • this is unbelievable, her voice is so delicate but still has the power of a heavyweight balledeer

  • Excellent!

    thank you

  • Really nice cover - love it's simplicity... Michele

  • Less is more!

  • Gave me CCCCCCCHHHHHHHIIIIILLLLSSSSS down the spine.........!!!

  • Amazing cover!!!

  • AMAZING!

  • great cover! :D

  • im inlove with her reindition. it still touches the sensitivity that the original holds. bruce or sara's vocals - the song itself is gold!

  • is this on itunes? I CAN'T FIND IT!!

  • Nice

  • Excellent Sara!

  • great music playing for a wonderful singer

  • Beautiful - she has the most gorgeous pure voice!

  • she's great, but nobody can be better than Bruce himself.

  • nice cover!bella interpretazione brava!

  • Found this on iLike

A nice way to be introduced to a beautiful talent

  • this is beautiful

  • great cover

  • love this

  • Beautiful interpretation, Great work Sara.

  • amazing cover.... great work!!!

  • Bella musica *.*

  • I love it

  • hey, nice cover!

  • Sara this is beautiful...why you and the boss not do it together? Would like it!!!

  • I heard this one time and absolutely fell in love with her voice. I've been listening to the Boss for about 2 years straight now (as in just Springsteen, no one else. It drives my room mates crazy). Anyway, I'm not easily drawn in to listening to new artists, but I'm about to go to the record store and buy one of her albums.

    Absolutely fantastic.

  • I like the way she does it bluesy on the

    Piano..but hey!..she strikes me as a

young Patti..or am I just gettin' old?

(probably the latter!) She has a good

    presence about her.

  • Beautiful.

  • Amazing cover *_*

  • ohmygahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

    sara. mmm <3
