Dear Yamaha, Why oh why oh why can I not trade-in my beloved workhorse XT600 for a 660 tenere here in the states ?

You are missing out on sales here ! The choices for mid-weight adv/dual-sport are pretty slim, and less than exciting. In case you've missed the memo, Kawasaki has sold a ship-load of KLR's here the last 20 years.

I would be more than happy to do a market study for you, if you could find it in your hearts to ship me a XT660Z ! :)

how does this bike compare to the bmw f800gs, its a few grand more 'the bmw' but im wondering if it is a few grand better than this yamaha. can anyone help. cheers

I don't own neither Tenere nor BMW F8,but the BMW sound like a better idea - not much heavier,but with 85bhp(compared to Tenere's 55).Also the GS has twin engine.Tenere is a thumper.If you compare the fuel consumption the BMW wins again.
