  • why do people never honor those who deserve it until they're dead. it would be nice to show these people they were apreciated

  • No words are enough for George, absolutely wonderful human being.

  • Thirty five years after the concert, five years after his death, George Harrison is STILL doing more for charity and love than celebrities and musicians half his age.

My God, the world needs him back.

And as FUBAR'd as this world is today, I can't even imagine what we would have been had we not had him.

  • So he started this!!! cool! love the them song, for that concert...awesome!

  • jamie2628-I believe Bangladesh is Pakistan now. Great concert great gift to humanity. George was a great guy. What strong emotions he had when he sang about his friend who's people needed help. God bless him.

  • @jamie2628 Bangladesh is not Pakistan. The country of Bangladesh is East Bengal, on the eastern side of India. Bangladesh separated from Pakistan in 1971, as a result of a civil war with many casualites. That's when George Harrison hosted this concert to raise funds and awareness and support for Bangladesh. Thanks !!

  • George was the best.

  • Thanks, George, you were such a good musician and man...

  • good for him! but i think he deserves more than a little plaque

  • My friend came to me, with sadness in his eyes

He told me that he wanted help

    Before his country dies

Although I couldn't feel the pain, I knew I had to try

Now I'm asking all of you

To help us save some lives

These words rip at my heart till this day

    Thank you George

    Peace

  • thnx george.. greatful to u .. may ALLAHA bless u..

    bangladeshi

  • Pattie Boyd was George's wife when the concert was organized and performed. She was quoted in many books that, for years, she tried to persuade him to do something big for charity like Marlon Brando did. She should share in this as much as Olivia

  • i wanna ask the UNICEF where the money gone ,

15 million dollar 35 years ago was a lot of money which can make the whole Bangladesh as Newyork city ,what happen where the money gone ,we have not got any penni

    people from Bangladesh ,

its ok we do not care for money ,but still respect george what he had done for us ,at least bring some media attention towards us when the paki were killing us in 1971 .

my heart goes to 30 million people who lost there lives in that war

  • Unicef has and will continue to use the money to help the people of Bangladesh. 15 million dollars is not a lot of money if you consider the fact that it's being spread out amongst tens of millions of people. The growing population is at fault here, not UNICEF. Harrison's Material World Foundation is still pouring millions into Bangladesh, only to be met with an ever rising population of people who won't practice birth control.

  • We remember him as our friend and well wisher with deep respect.May Allah bless him and his family.

  • It was Ravi Shankar who initiated the whole thing for Bangla Desh. George helped ravi Shanker to make this happen. George himself says that it was Ravi who asked him to do this concert, we all love George but would George by pass Ravi like the way Olivia is doing. Unicef should know better.

  • Can you prove what you are saying? I doubt it.

  • You should know your facts before posting. Olivia just donated ANOTHER 47,000 pounds to the Unicef fund for Bangladesh, bringing the total up to 194,000 pounds. BTW: The concert would never have happened if George Harrison hadn't arranged it. Ravi had no connections to do so. Get it right

  • It was 100% initiated by George Harrison, Ravi just got involbed later, get it right..go back and read that times newspapers. its all available on the internet idiot

  • i don't think you guys should argue over this. the fact is, ravi shankar was a friend of george, and he approached george harrison to do a small scale fund raising concert. and george harrison, being an awesome person, arranged the concert in less than 3 weeks. stop saying 'oh it's cuz of ravi shankar' or 'oh it's cuz of george harrison',this isn't something we should fight about, yes, ravi did come up with the idea, but if you ask me, without george, this wouldn't happen.

    a proud bangladeshi

  • Our Hearts go out to all the people of

Bangladesh that are liveing with another disaster. Who will be the new George of this time? we need 'Super concerts' to heal the World. It can Happen, Power of Music and LOVE!
