@BigKingBudxxShowCase, SRV had at least one if not two Marshall 100W super leads, two Fender Twins, a Dumble, a Leslie, & ran EV's in his cabinets (at least one) & A/B'd the Fender's & Marshall's, sometimes even running them together. Hendrix did not run all four stacks at the same time. He himself said they rotated them every show to give equal wear, like most who run a "wall of Marshall's." Most Marshall users had/have three going at one time (EVH) & the rest are b/u or strictly for show.
Nobody before or since comes close. Love this clip. He was only 29 at the time. Still wearing all the stage get up and just flat out killing people with this shit! Unbelievable.
SRV is definately the man. But top marks also go to Chris Layton & Tommy Shannon. Those cats can play. They really support the vocalist/soloist well and don't just bang the same boring track behind him. That's hard to find in a rhythm section these days.
Stevie's solo goes from complete sick distortion to a clean echoing solo "AWESOME" only Stevie can make this song sound just like Jimmy, and what about this audience? This audience sucks; I would be going f-ing crazy, this is STEVIE RAY VAUGHN people.
big strings big heart if you can play this do it otherwise go sit with with all the other pretenders and little girls and listen to how you do it for real little boy genius
I bought this video (Austin City Limits) on VHS tape when I was like 17 and plugged the VCR into my computer to rip it to a wav file, then when MP3s came around I converted it to MP3. Texas Flood & Voodoo Chile from this show are in my top 10 songs of all time. Thanks for posting!

In other words, @BigKingBudxxShowCase, SRV was an expert on Hendrix's sound and had done his homework.....

i love SRV
but his poor little 2-12" fender combo sound
is like a lil kitty kat
next to hendrix's
2 ,3 or even 4 marshall full stacks (thats 8-12" x 2,3 or even 4)
roaring like the king of the jungle
and hey im a fender guy

@aledobretociastko He can? Listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan - Life by the drop.

@aLongHairedDude Oh come on! I know he's not that bad, I wasn't that serious at all, but I don't really like his voice. That's it.
