WRONG!!! you jump start the dead car from a NON-RUNNING car.. the starter can draw over 250 amps and the dead battery adds to the load.. this is how the bridge rectifier diodes get stressed in the alternator which is commonly 80 - 100 amps MAX output. Ideal charging system is to have 20% more output than regular max load. u can charge the dead battery from a running car just fine. LOVE that description too CH.. LOL

I'm a girl and even I know they screwed up on checking the dipstick. You're supposed to wipe it off first because the oil shifts while you're driving, which clearly happened in the video because it's way over the indicator.

You will need to hook the positive cables up on each car then hook the negatives, then start the car with the good battery - oh most people will tell you that there is a small spark when you hook the last negitive cable so hook it to a metal object on the car instead of the battery to keep the battery from exploding ( I still hook both of my neg. clamps to the neg terminals) the chances of it exploding are very slim!

2: when you jump a car usually you ground the negative clamp on the dead car, and you do usually need to rev up to like 2k for a few seconds

you want to rev a bit to charge the battery. once the car starts most nothing runs on the battery. battery is for when the engine is off and when you start it. after that it pretty much sits there. So reving it will charge it up a bit for all the things you need the battery for on top of starting it.

I'm a little surprised by how the battery thing was described in this. My driving instructor made a very good point of telling me that when jumping a car, the positive end of the jump cables for the working car should never been placed on the actual battery, but instead on a random steel bolt on the engine. In fact, doing it the way they showed in this video is supposed to make the batteries explode!

That's not how you connect a battery... you connect the positive terminal on the good battery then connect the positive on the bad battery... THEN connect the negative from the good battery to the negative to the bad battery... any other way will risk an unnecessary spark... TRY IT! :)

Actually.. the negatives are supposed to be connected first.. because the flow goes through the positive first... if there is no cycle for a good amount of time, then you risk battery damage.

WRONG - Never attach the negative side of the jumpers to the battery. Find a good ground on the engine of the car that you are boosting and attach it there. I you connect it to the battery there is a chance that you could fry your cars computer...
