I love this Mozart music and this opera but I can't understand the costumes, because D Giovanni is a character of XVI century not of XIX like the clothes
does everyone understand this or are there pamflets with translations on these events? cause i want to see this in real life but cannot understand the language, and of course the story behind it
@plagueofangels666 You can find the libretto with translation on many sites, such as opera-guide.ch. Better yet is buying a DVD, which almost always has the English translations. Such things are very cheap. My favorite is Losey's but others differ. For me, when it is not a live performance, best is a movie.
The Rodney Gilfry version is my favorite of all the Don Giovannis I've seen. His emotions, movements and singing ability are perfect. All the other Dons have one of the three, but lack in the other two.
0:53-0:56 NEVER charge head on during a coat fight.
Has there ever been a convincing fight between DG and the commendatore?

According to Mozart biographers, Beethoven was a huge admirer of Mozart and emulated his work. Just like Mozart emulated Hadyn's, etc.

@Mkamalid it's cool how one master learned from another. If only they had composed something together

powerfull is a little too much. Seeing that we can think that he is too slow for the song and he's not very good
