  • Am i the first to realize that they misspelled "LaBrie" ? 1:00

Le Brie = the cheese or what?

  • They made such great decision on replacing Mike Portnoy, I think they should start thinking about replacing James now.

  • @Maldito1085 Like it or not, James LaBrie is the voice of Dream Theater.

  • @MarianOctavarium You're right... And I don't like it. :-/

  • Myung is a Buddha with long hair for me :D

  • yes lets fade ouit with a track that's from 1992, much less a track Mangini wasn't on....

  • When Your as Good as Myung, you dont need to talk,

  • @MarkAlexanderYoung It's a joke dude... We all know Myung is quiet...

  • Is it just me or does Mike Mangini seem like one of the nicest people alive? I cannot wait to hear how his writing fuses with the remaining members. Hard to believe that one of the greatest bands found a way to get better. Genius.

  • 1:01 James LeBrie???

  • 0:51 Somebody looks really jealous.

  • Rudess has a really nice voice.

  • whats the song at 0:46

  • @gogolefler hi friend, the song is Learning to live, from Images and words.

  • @drumcrazy55 thanks bro! :D

  • @gogolefler Learning To Live (from their album Images & Words)

  • what's the first song in this video ? ?

  • @yiguler these walls from octavarium

  • @Alinux001 thanks

  • One chapter closes and another opens for Dream Theater. MP will always be at the forefront of all drummers imho. Bar none. MM has big shoes to fill and seems to be up for the task. They sound great together. Rejuvenated. I've been a fan since 91 and will be until the end. God bless you guys. You all rock. MP keep up the great stuff with your new "gigs". peace.

  • Myung is like his Bass. You barely ever get to hear it, but it's always there and always making things sound better

  • As sad as I was at the decision of MIke Portnoy to leave the band, I could not be happier with the decision to bring on Mike Mangini. He is an incredible talent and has brought his own unique style to the band's already awesome sound. Thank YOU Dream Theater for creating amazing music, regardless of who your drummer is.

  • MYUNG,Y U NO SPEAK?

  • No Dream Theater, thank YOU :)

  • I love Mangini, this guy has real feeling. He is the main reason I bought A Dramatic Turn of Events. Great album, get it. I was not a DT fan, and it made me one.

Now I wonder, why couldn't I find that before they had thei concert in Chicago? Karma, I guess. That'll teach me to always be a fan of DT.

  • Myung is silent, like always.

  • @bigbluemonkey290 its fine with me. at least the world will know how talented these guys are. and talents deserve recognition.

  • Learning to live woo

  • @Eric333333333 Learning To Live - Kevin Moore's touch all over the song.

  • I'm happy for Dream Theater, but at the same time it must be saddening and depressing to Mike seeing how Dream Theater is becoming this big name in the music industry playing exactly what we have never thought could become this popular in the popular world: Technical/Progressive Metal.

I know Mike made his decision, and probably regrets it by now, but as a huge fan of DT and MP, I really hope he's holding on well and puts his talent in amazing new ventures.

  • @jossy2112 And the "Comment of the month" award goes to...

  • /watch?v=pstiAayP-ck

  • What's the song playing at the very beginning?

  • @Herreken It's the ending of "Theese Walls"

  • @morphaacuarius Thanks mang. I haven't listened to Octavarium in a long time.

  • Did they choose that album name because Portnoy left??

  • @YouNoob93 Petrucci said no, it was a 'coincidence'.

  • john myung: ........

  • Petrucci: "at the end of the day, that's what it's all about: is making great music with GREAT PEOPLE". Look like you have no chance to get back in DT, Portnoy!

  • it's funny to watch almost 2 minutes video, about Dream Theater making album in studios and the listen that album, which every song is almost 9 minutes :D

  • well, truth is portnoy just shot himself in the foot.

    BIIIIGGGGGG time. lol

  • Dream theater promises suprise every 2 years!

  • Dream Theater, the best band of the world!

  • @drofferni Sorry, that would be Mastodon:-) Dream Theater is a very close 2nd place. The Hunter and A Dramatic Turn of Events are both awesome albums, though i prefer The Hunter

  • @RedFactionWilliam In Waves and Unto The Locust, bring it! Lovely year with all sorts of great albums being put out! Chimaira also, Arch Enemy, Times of Grace, a lot!

  • I love this band, but why can't we just say it like it is guys?... "We were in a position to make a shit load of money as a band so, of course, we had to continue making music." I guarantee this band would not still be together if they weren't so ridiculously huge as they are these days.

  • @ninjastep87 Just because you're cynical doesn't mean you're right...

  • and what's the song at the end of the video??

  • @jandriki88 "Learning to Live" from "Images and Words"

  • "Finding a family member is not an overnight thing" - MM. Hmm unfortunately sometimes it is ^^

  • whats the song at the beginning???

  • @StevenInATree '

    'These Walls' from Octavarium..

  • @EumeriaOfficial thank you so much, its been bothering me. the heartbeat at the end threw me off. and you guys sound really good!!! new music to enjoy!

  • This band died when Kevin Moore split in 1994... Interesting how they lace this clip with music from IAW!

  • y q paso con mike portnoy?

  • Next album comes 2013 hopefully. It'll be here before we know it.

  • DT are excellence personified.Live at Budokan is the best DVD ever!

  • @galarius They should do a DVD with a setlist similar to Live At Budokan by opening with On The Backs Of Angels like they did with As I Am, throw in Pull Me Under, Metropolis or Learning To Live as one of the last songs, end with Beneath The Surface and The Count Of Tuscany as an encore

  • 5 people didnt like it when he said something about "great music"

I on the other hand, clicked the correct button! :P

  • Only listened to the album a couple times so far, but I enjoyed it. Been a fan since day 1. Thought MP leaving was going to make it too different, but nice job Mike M.

  • Myung REALLY spoke to me in this video.

  • I'm unsubscribing...

  • Mike Portnoy was just "Lost Not Forgotten"

  • HAHAHAHAH FUCK YOU PORN TOY

  • Inspiring words by Myung.

  • c'mon myung. say something lol.

  • Nice.

But "Build me up..." is still the worst song they have written.

  • @hillysats I thought so when I first listened to the album as well, but I gotta tell you it's grown on me. Sure, it's somewhat on par with A Rite Of Passage but the solo section and the outro quite saves the song. The intro however, this Linkin Park esque crap.. don't dig it.

  • @Cambrand I loved Build Me Up, Break Me Down the first time I heard, sounds like a song from James' solo albums

  • @0:23

    orgasm

  • You would imagine they would pay better attention to spelling (LeBrie, lol) when making a video like this lol.

  • three people only listen to justin beiber

  • the best album ever

  • Is the album already leaked?????????????????

  • @Guitardreams182 The album was released Tuesday lol

  • I won a golden ticket...

  • Been a Dream Theater fan for many years. Sorry to say, but this album sucks :( Im so disappointed, not shure if will even bother seeing them live..

  • @MrZeppelin1988 and let me guess, because Portnoy left huh? The music is far more progressive than its ever been. You're just being a prick cause Mike left. Give it a chance and just appreciate that they're still going.

  • @molecular360 Not really, I thought Mike leaving would give DT a chance to move more towards the style of images and words/SFAM. Vocally its no variation, and the songs just sound bland. Anyways, the drums on this album is written by Petrucci, and mike just went to the studio to record it. Maybe the next album will be better.

  • @MrZeppelin1988 lol ok

  • :trololo:

  • You're welcome DT! It's our pleasure!

  • Can't wait, bring it on.

  • @MiLoMac06 Oh the album is out already, Zune pass ftw!

  • this album is amazing

  • best band ever!

  • deja vu

  • YEAH ITS AWESOME I HAVE THE ALBUM AND ITS AWESOME AND I HAVE THE DVD ASWELL :P!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD!!

  • @EricMaldonadoMusic ehhhh.... what?

  • @Guitarmazdur They spelled LAbrie wrong..

  • @EricMaldonadoMusic oh lol XD i didnt even notice!

  • @EricMaldonadoMusic He's french now, haven't you heard?

  • Hem...

  • Meh..

  • Meh

  • 0:25 lipstick?

  • Meh

  • Dream Theater, you truly have found and explored the "silver lining" behind the "black clouds" that rolled in after MP's departure... and in "a dramatic turn of events", you've found another Mike to fill the void and come up with a solid true-blue DT album that's been playing through my headphones nonstop for days now! Continue to make great music for all of us your fans! :-)

  • The new album is great! The Video of On The backs of angels is great too

    DT the best

  • Meh.

  • Meh.
