booth is a disgrace to hockey. buddy gets KO'ed all the time. learn how to play in the big leagues, you cant turn your back to the play or keep your head down all the time. hope he gets a career ending injury
Booth seriously has the worst luck in the league. but it was both their faults. volchenkov didnt pull back and booth decided to spin and put his back to volchenkov
It was a dirty hit but it was 50% booth fault. When I go into the corner I never think, "Hey, maybe i should go head first with my head down into the boards when a huge hitter is behind me.. yeah seems fool proof".
giorgi007, what in the world are you talking about? When will hockey fans learn that people can die, and be paralyzed by checking from behind. The problem with these two hits are they were directly from behind. You have to play the puck, if the guy turns into it you still have to give up the hit, or at least try to. the speed & violence of this game is amazing and beautiful, but when the Refs kick a guy out for boarding and misconduct, and not one person argues you know he deserved it.
When will players from youth hockey all the way to the pros figure out that go to to the puck at an angle and not head on or not turn into a player to get away. Its a shame that these players get hurt but its hard to have checking in hockey when the victim plays foolishly and with lack of intelligence. Its like walking through a driving range at golf course and be surprised why a golf ball hits you.
Play smart. Head up at all times and look around before you get the puck to know your options.
Booth is a terrible player. He doesn't skate correctly when getting close to the boards. He deserved to get hit if he's gonna skate with his head down. Like for example when he played the Pens and picked the puck up and threw it out of the zone. He still needs to learn alot about how to respond in situations
Yea but everyone does it to protect the puck, the NHL should do a better job at suspending players for hits like this even if its not on purpose it sends a message you see the back of the jersey, you stop! But I agree with you.
@SENSNETWORKcom this is what happens when we get rid of guys like Wade Belak, although i am against having Tough guys on teams, the panthers really need to get tougher players like a Pronger-ish D-man or a tough guy winger to play with Booth, so this would stop
@SENSNETWORKcom I dont understand hockey He is playing with the puck but he isnt allowed or supposed to turn his back to the boards? Why is he even getting hit its not good to hit someone from the back.... and even in the open ice why is it the player whos not looking fault when he gets blindside hit? I dont understand.
Haha i could think of a couple players that need hit like that actually. Ok i might have been a little too strong on saying he's a terrible player but he has been making unpro mistakes
I realise these guys play the game because they love it and live it, but they have guts. Whenever I see a hit like this whether legal or illegal it gives me chills. They just have alot of guts to risk their body like this.
I'm a big Sens fan, but I can't stand Dean Brown. He's seriously terrible. He never follows the play, and his homerism is just annoying, even to me! Ditto Gord Wilson (x100). Galley is quality though.
Doesn't sounds more concerned to me... he's comparing the two hits to each other. He's just saying "the player" or "that guy" rather than "David Booth"... usually they are good with names ... unlike Harry Neale or Bob Cole.
Sorry but Booth turned and put himslef in a bad spot. I am sure he would even say this. Its just one of those plays that can happen. Huge guys going at crazy fast speeds.
Are you talking about the Volchenkov hit or the one on Bergeron?
If its on Volchenkov, would you kindly pinpoint the moment that you see an elbow to the head? It would be much appreciated because it looks pretty phantom to me.
Volchenkov doesn't hit people from behind or illegally. Trust me I have every one of his hits on my computer.
He was too close to Tucker once to stop, when Tucker turned his back around, and he held up Tucker (you know, the rival team) so he wouldn't get injured.
@brizzzad It would, had Booth not spun to be in that position. He put himself in that position and caused his own injury. This is one of the incidents where, it's unfortunate, but the victim caused this.
yea I agree...Volchenkov look like he shoved the Florida player into the boards, Jones was a hard check...similiar to the one Kappy got in the 04 playoffs against Toronto
Shit happens!Keep your head up!These people have to realize when you stop you get the impact from the other players! Its like stopping a car!You get what you get when someone runs into you!Keep moving!Keep your head up!
I wouldn't go as far as saying they were clean but both players had committed to their hits and the recipients turned. They were two unfortunate plays. Hopefully they're alright.

is it just me or do the playbyplay guys seem more concerned about the hit on the Ottawa player that happend earlier in the game?
I get that there Ottawa playbyplay guys but they basically mentioned David's Name once. They said "Nick Foligno" more than David Booth.

take off the blinders and get back to me, pause at 33 seconds and check the positioning, both hands on the waist region.
the hit on booth was with less intention to injure than the hit on foligno.

wasn't an elbow, it was a shove with the hand.

The NHL fucked up giving Jones a suspension for a non-intended injury hit.
Players should learn to keep their head up.

Booth turned into the hit at the moment Volchenkov went to hit him.

Another great example of reactionary misconducts from the NHL.
