I don't know if you know yet, but all english (Sega/Mega CD) versions have the Konami characters in the bar/club. In most Japanese versions, they didn't use JUST anime characters, the club patrons were dressed up as sci-fi characters, such as the alien from the Alien movie series. They were changed to avoid copyright issues.
