  • Ah slow dances at the high school sock hops - :)

  • Every body thought they were a black group. When we realised white it felt like a rip-off boy where we wrong.

  • <3 :~)

  • @quackkedupfunnygirl tht is supposed to be a smiley and a heart-he's not wearing a hat... lemme try again... <3 :~)

  • Tack tack du som la in denna underbara låt för oss alla att höra och se.

För mig är den full av underbara minnen från Ft. Lauderdale Florida på 80-talet.

    Love you

  • Great!

  • this is such a beautiful song!

  • What happened?! How the hell did we manage to go from classic music like this to freaking Justin Bieber???

    ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

  • Bring it all back.

  • Nottingham Forest <3

  • One of the greatest songs ever as the producers of Top Gun knew.

  • Pure MAGIC! Honesty in music... some guy who commented on here was very right - these great performers loved their music and stardom was just a bonus. This wonderful song will always be sad for me personally, in that my dear sister died the week this became number 1 in the UK in February 1965. RIP Bobbie, I love you. Thanks for posting.

  • My era and classic!!!!

  • it's scary how good they were..

  • Why dont the music companies support real musicians anymore ? I seriously dont think that the music of todays " stars" ( I refuse to call these people artists) will still be heard 10-20-50 years from now.

  • @Galavya41 oh get off your high horse you dick

  • @rakingindasquad I just made an observation, which was not against or anti anybody. It was a perfectly logical statement which if you think is wrong you should have written a logical answer instead of calling me names .Sir may I know the reason for the hate and the insult?

  • @Galavya41 and my comment wasnt anti anyone either :L the fact is this song is shite, let's face it, so get off your high horse and dont be a dick and be like 'oh music so bad now mmmkaaay'

  • @rakingindasquad Sir please read what I wrote on this page carefully , in a comment just below I mentioned that all new music is not crap and..

  • @rakingindasquad ..I also wrote that I was thankful to Itunes etc for letting real artists share their work...

  • Anyone saying all new music is crap is clearly only hearing what's in the charts. Listen to wide range of music and you will find plenty of great and crap songs from any era.

  • @Guitarfan1995 No sir all new music is not crap but most of it is anyway..and thats because the performers today want to be stars while having no respect for music. The performers of the gone era actually loved music, music was their passion and stardom was a side effect.Talented artists are ignored by the companies but thanks to services like itunes we are seeing a new generation of artists who love music and genuinely put in their best efforts in creating the best songs for their listeners.

  • @Guitarfan1995 music is in the charts for a reason

  • I feel like my Marriage is just about over after 40 yrs.this .....is how I feel" don't care anymore" Durgs has taking over" and I'm so tired of the fights.......I can do bad all by Myself"""Bonnie

  • Thank god for top gun, i wonder how many great songs slipped under the radar and remain forgotten...

  • oh, they're white guys

  • I JUST CANT GET OVER THIS SONG!!!!

    New found Favorite <3

  • Hard to believe that this song was written by the same guy that did "Who Put the Bomp". But he and his wife wrote so many great songs. This one ranks right up there with "We Gotta Get Outta This Place" as far as classic 60's songs.

  • Wow great song always loved it!! but check out this Guy above who sang it in Spanish from Jamaica, HE'S AWESOME!!!!!!!

  • why do some people knock what other people like it takes alsorts of music and performers to make it a more pleasurable world to live in a bit of tolerance wouldnt go amiss

  • btw the video - two guys just standing there and singing .... and it is still amazing!!!

  • He has such a beatiful voice, it just melts me ....

  • Has perdido ese sentimiento amoroso ahora se ha ido, ido, ido. Si sólo me amas como solías hacerlo. Tuvimos un amor un amor que no se encuentra todos los días. Así que no dejes que se escape.

  • Who else tried to use this song to pick up a girl?

  • That's a bad song even today i still luv it.

  • I have always felt that Bobby Hatfield was one of the most underrated singer of all time. His vocal talent was amazing, its just to bad that most of their songs wouldn't let him shine.

  • I remember hearing this for the first time when I saw Top Gun in the movie theater. Memories...

  • That's that long car ride type of song

  • Good stuff.

  • its 2012 and this kind of music is still the best and will be forever

  • #286(Tie)

  • no,i,love,you,love,you,love,you,love,you,niet,zo,zwart,wit,remember,kleur,grys,erin,met,roze,stipjes,pink

  • How does two guys in daggy skivvies and coats look and sound so sexy?

  • OLD SONGS ARE BETTER AND A GOOD ONE ....

  • There is nothing like this music... I mean, like rap? OMG, not music..not poetry, just CRap (see, add just one letter and get the truth)

  • RIP Nigel Doughty. NFFC.

  • i'm starting to get sick of ppl commenting about how good old songs are and how so many ppl listening to new junk. i mean..every fucking video its the same comments. give it a rest.

i feel this is another "i took an arrow to the knee"

please...give it a rest...when u were younger you listened to bullshit...

as you grow older you start liking food that you hated, you started to appreciate good music and you stop listening crap.

but plz sustain yourselves from making such comments. just enjoy.

  • @baalzor- I don't think the new music is junk. Everyone has different tastes, and that includes musical tastes. What we grow up listening to seems to always have a special place in our hearts and tends to bring back a lot of good memories. I believe that's why people comment in such a way. I, myself, don't like a lot of the newer music, but there are still a lot of good songs and bands out there. SO, I do agree with you :)

  • @bcjbutterick

au contraire, i think there are sooo many good new songs.

its just the concept of the posts ppl make on videos of old songs, trying to step out, trying to feel special cuz they like some old good songs...you know..

thats what i just...simply cant avoid in every video of the older songs :)

  • @baalzor good new songs? HA HA HA HAHA HA HA , What good new songs? Name one, just ONE good new song. Good means better than mediocre.

  • @metamorphosis67

oh dont get me wrong, i am a huge fan of old songs. i just enjoy listening to it.

nowadays, evaluating if a song is good or not depends really on your taste..

but there are really great new artists with great songs.

you have for example, bon iver - skinny love...or even gotye - somebody i used to know

ooor mumford and sons - home, ooor...florence + the machine - what the water gave me or...glen hansard/marketa irglova - falling slowly...

    these r rly good songs

  • @bcjbutterick Nope, it's way past the 'everything is relative' argument at this point. The new music is, without any doubt, unadulterated soulless junk that does not in any way even come close to matching the music of the 1960s & 1970s . The music of today is of such low quality, such a vast sea of mediocrity, that it makes even Disco music seem great by comparison.

  • @baalzor Bullshit. Every great band I listen to today I discovered when I was a teenager in the 1970s and I still listen to most of these groups today 30 years later, not because of nostalgia but because the music doesn't grow old. There was hardly a damn thing worth even the effort of discovering in the past 20 years.

  • simply.. the best of the best!

  • this song is so good but i don't think that chick dancing was happy, lol. i guess she lost that loving feeling.

  • TOP GUN nuf said!

  • i went to a concert to see these guys right before one of them died (cant remember which one died) but it was back a couple years

  • @Yugiohguy987 It was Bobby Hatfield who sadly died before his time. They were brilliant singers individually and as a duo. Their legacy of songs including "unchained melody" and "your my soul, your my inspiration" will live long in the memory. First heard them when I was 12 - still listening almost 50 years later.

  • @vintage52 my sister took my dad and i to a concert at hampton beach i think it was and they played the best music aside from the beatles of course :p but it was like 5-7 years ago i think and i still listen to them i am 16 at the moment and i love the oldies because all the new crap is bad in my opinion and they dont make music like this anymore which is so disappointing :/

  • @Yugiohguy987 They do, actually, it's just hard to find. Nick Cave's Ship Song. Dar Williams' After All. Ani Difranco's Both Hands. These are a few examples.

  • In my mind this pop music at it's purest. Beautiful harmonies and melody. Lyrics that touch upon your own life or situation. Songs you can cry, laugh and shout to. This is sacred

  • I grew up listening to these guys my dad loved there music....I even got to seen them in concert down in nashville when I was a young girl.....

  • Top Gun sent me.

  • no one can sing this like these guys i mean nobody great song.

  • Fuck Top gun these guys were way too much good than to be associated with that mediocre film.

  • ONE OF MY FAVORITES... IT CAN ALWAYS MAKE ME CRY!! LOVE IT LOVE THE LYRICS THE VOICES,, EVERYTHING ...JUST PERFECT!! I LOVE YOU ALWAYS & FOREVER! :'(

  • what a gem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The tall one look's a bit like Norman Bates.

  • I don't wonder why this is the most played radiosong ever. It's played over 8 million times in the UK alone. Brilliant.

  • @HiddeeB .....you are so right, totally brillant!!

  • 36 people thought these guys were black.

  • I am watching the Top Gun right now, for the...1000th time :D I just had to pop by on this one :) Legendary guys, fucking legendary ;)

  • top of the charts on 25th Feb1992. or so my FB app says lol

  • i love how classic songs have only a fraction of views compared to the ATROCIOUS junk they pass off as music today... jus lets u kno where the mass music listeners head is today

  • @greasy2007- Yes, and your parents probably felt the same way about much of the music you liked and listened to.

  • @greasy2007 more to do with the net being used by teens than adults not the quality of music.

  • @greasy2007 When these classics were new, they got a lot more attention than the classics of those days. It's how it works.

But yes, today's "music" isn't the same. Gimme that ol' time rock 'n' roll...

  • @greasy2007 had we had Youtube back then this song would've hit nearly 1 billion or more views by now.

  • @greasy2007 Consider that hundreds and hundreds of millions of people have heard this song many, many times over and that's just in America. So if there were a YouTube when this song came out then the views would be off the charts.

  • Is this sampled for "summer lovin" from Greece??

  • 1:50-2:56 is my favorite part of the song.

  • Baby, baby, I get down on my knees for youuuu

  • 36 have never had that love and feeling ever

  • 36 people lost that lovin' feelin'.

  • 36 peoble dont know anything about music :-)

  • This makes me smile.

  • Thirty-six dislikes? Are you kidding? Are these people who just "dislike" everything because, well, they can? Because that's the only plausible explanation I can think of for anyone who knows anything about music for disliking this.

  • this is one of the greatest songs ever made!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol that the people who say xxx number of people are blaa blaa

    Because this is the truth.

36 people a fucking stupid. nuff said!

  • My dad introduced me to this song. I find it amazing. Greetings from Chile.

  • ...I have never seen Top Gun. I just know brilliant music when I hear it.

  • You can't really tell but a young 18-year-old Cher is singing in the backup female chorus. At the time she was dating Sonny who worked for Phil Spector who produced this

  • omg fab the best song ever,

  • Thumbs up if for 25 years you've thought they were black.

  • @IStennaI Look it up the Righteous Brothers did way better with this song than Elvis, His version was really bad. I like Elvis, but not his version of this song.

  • What voices!!!! I just loved the brothers and had all their 45's.

  • Love it,love it,love it.Never gets old what a song!.

  • Always so loved this song! Terrific Classic-Those guys sure knew how to belt out a great song! and now we have them here forever~♥

  • Dislike this must have a tumour in the audio cortex if there is one ......one of the very best love songs of all time I cannot give this a a somthing out of ten , it is a truly strataspheric tune, and cannot be judged only enjoyed........

  • The most played song on the radio EVER! The Classic of Classics!

  • @WealthLetter yes because of elvis version idiot

  • 5 people dislike, very strange, must be lady gaga fans

  • My mother loved this song and I remember when I was 10 yrs. old hearing it on the radio and to this day I think The R Brothers were so talented. I love how they harmonized!!!!

    Love them~~~~~

  • Love the song but the guys look terrified lol

  • That's the original single mix, which you never hear on the radio now. The difference between this and the later one is that the violins are less prominent here. You notice it most at "gone gone gone, and I can't go on."

Having got used to this mix, I always found the later one a bit jarring.

  • I'm 13 and I love this song, I just wish people would love it just like I do =[

  • @foolgirlfakingsmiles good to see the young ones enjoying the classics!

  • The Reply button is being worn out :)

  • where did all the nice clean cut boys go.......they are gone, gone gone

  • 35 people has lost that loving feeling!

    They've lost---? No they haven't

    Yes, they have.

    They have not lost that---

Goose, they've lost it, man. (I hate when they do that)

  • awww shes lost it...

  • will ferrels dad was actually their keyboardist :)

  • 34 lost that lovin' feelin for good

  • The girl at the end kinda reminds me of Anna Paquin, maybe family-related to her :p? Probably not, but by the way, very beautiful song, almost none can top this song.

  • 34 people have never seen top gun.

  • @chaffinc09 or dont know real music and have been brought up on crap in the charts today (by the way im part of that generation im 15)

this is real music could listen all day and night :)

  • The little guy on the right looks like a young Bill Clinton.
