  • I want to cry when I hear this, it reminds me of my favourite auntie and my dad , both of which I have lost. Beautiful meaningful songs in those days.

  • Yes, Portsmouth is very proud of David, the David Whitfield Rose is in a large rose bed in the rose gardens, His photograph is in the Kings Theatre, he is often mentioned in the local paper. He has many fans and friends here.

  • @villettel I thought he was from Hull? :s

  • @villettel hes from hull, they are going to put up a statue outside hull new theatre, which was is faveourite place

  • portsmouth is very proud to have known david

  • My uncle bought this one with " my Lord " in it, it brings back many good memories of my child hood.

  • I love this song, my grandad always had it on when i was little.

  • beautiful beautiful song and a tremendeous voice.....

  • David sings this more softly and with less vibrato, which I like, and to me brings out his most natural voice.

  • Perfection, it certainly deserved to be at no 1 in the hit parade. David shared the no 1 position with Frankie Lane, Christmas week, which I think is still a record. Hadnt been done before or since.
