The Big East was overrated last year, so the regular season stats are pretty meaningless. 6 of 8 tourney teams failed to get past the 2nd round. 4 of them were 1-and-done (including #3 seed Georgetown), and only one of those was to a higher seed. 3 losses to 2 #11 seeds, 1 to #14 seed. Clearly a vastly overrated conference last year.

Stat line for THE CHAMPIONSHIP game, 19 white kids out of 29, on both rosters, and 5-6 starters. The other stat is that probably EVERY kid will actually graduate with a college degree (RARE in D1 college basketball). The Big East was overrated last year, so the regular season stats are pretty meaningless. 6 of 8 tourney teams failed to get past the 2nd round. 4 of them were 1-and-done (including #3 seed Georgetown), and only one of those was to a higher seed. 3 losses to 2 #11 seeds, 1 to #14 seed. Clearly a vastly overrated conference last year.

The only truly relevant metric here is the H2H meetup, and obviously Duke was the better team by that metric. But you go on thinking WVU was better if it makes you feel better about the way the WVU season ended.

Teams occasionally have bad offensive outings-that's to be expected. But there's no excuse for so grossly crapping out on defense unless the other team is just outclassing YOU. Duke's 3 pt looks were wide f'n open all game.
I'm not crying that the Big East crapped out. Them's just the facts. They stunk their way out of the tourney.

Funny, Duke's record against T25 and T50 teams was better than WVU's. Duke won a higher % of its games in both categories and played a deeper schedule with more T50 games as well.

Duke's reg season offense averaged 77 ppg. Vs WVU they scored 78. WVU gave up 14 pts more than its season avg.
On both ends of the court Duke outperformed WVU, and there's really no excuse for having a crappy defensive outing unless you're just outclassed by the other team, which WVU clearly was.

Stat line for THE CHAMPIONSHIP game, 19 white kids out of 29, on both rosters, and 5-6 starters. The other stat is that probably EVERY kid will actually graduate with a college degree (RARE in D1 college basketball). Every kid can actually speak the Kings English when being interviewed, and their play as a team is truly something to enjoy. Watching the caste loving ESPN this morning play the highlights with NO enthusiasm was enjoyable.

Congrats to Duke and Butler and no kidding, Jonnie West truely did make a mistake in picking his fathers legacy school WV to try and play at. As most posters have noted, WV is one of the whiter states yet their sports teams would make you think otherwise. Butler will play Duke tough, but a Blue Devil win should seal the deal on an amazing year of college basketball. And one of the whitest sweet 16's in a long time.

Dunn proceeded to act like an immature idiot in an elite 8 game. That's why after the refs reviewed the video extensively, they charged Dunn with a tech and gave nothing to Scheyer.
