  • Captain America is a suicide machine...I love it.

  • Dad: I REALLY want you to pay attention.

Me: I wonder if Jeff Goldbulm's still alive....

  • it's alright this song. lol

  • a nice Bob Dylan song ...

  • Is that the Mississippi River they cross? Would be interesting to know, cause it would add another dimension to the story......

  • this is a good cover by the singer but i can't help but hear dylan's voice in the lyrics

  • @ProducShuns Likewise. I've always had a tough time believing it's McGuinn and not Dylan.

  • Did Orange County Choppers make those bikes?

  • @Andreas748 Hahaha no way man. Those drama queens at OCC can't touch those bikes especially the Captain America Bike.

  • I wish I lived the 60's 70's and 80's in the U.S. , it's been going downhill from the 90's, and we are getting close to the shit hitting the fan...

  • "Esso" gas stations were formerly "Standard". What is an "Esso Asshole"? Someone who's in a hurry and makes a left turn thru the Esso gas station to the road!

  • you know i find it funny, this isnt bob singing its roger mcguinn

  • @benforshee Aint that also what it says?

  • Dylan is THE man !

  • Bah...

  • why cant i find any- real- leanth- bob- dylan's -version?

  • @pinojerry - THERE AREN'T ANY BUT THERE IS A FATTH VERSION AVAILABLE IN MOST RECORD STORES.

  • @HEARTHEANGELSVOICES ok i uploaded one.

  • @pinojerry - THANK-Q

  • @pinojerry I herd somewhere Dylans record company has gotten all the Dylan taken down frpm youtube

  • @foiran it seems so. they prevent us from listening all Dylan songs here. such a shortsightedness from the record company

  • @liastein1 yep. think of how many people would listen to a selection of songs on YT then go buy the record/CD, particularly a younger audence who probably wouldn get to know of his material through radio etc

  • out of this part of space.

  • Seeing those Esso signs bring back memories. So few people know that Exxon used to be Esso.

  • @ricadrew In europe so few people know that Esso is Exxon in America. It's the other way round here ;-) cheers

  • @Zioghiro Wow, didn't know that, guess they never changed the name over there.

  • @ricadrew Put a tiger in your tank!

  • the one good mcguinn/dylan cover there is!

  • Hillbilly

  • i was here then i disapear...

  • Hell yes! This is called living life folks. Have fun, love your fellow man, and just relax!

  • RIP DENNIS LOVE YOU MAN

  • can thay ride any slower??

  • @giacamo1 Not really, no. Funny you should ask that. Peter said that they had to keep it about 25 miles per hour so the background wouldn't blur too badly. And that's tough to do with a 12" over front end. You can see that he's constantly correcting where Dennis is not.

  • somebody know the cities which they are in?

  • @hax0r16 Amelia, Louisiana, USA

    Franklin, Louisiana, USA

    Krotz Springs, Louisiana, USA

    Lafayette, Louisiana, USA

    Lake Pontchartrain, Louisiana, USA

    Main Street, Franklin, Louisiana, USA

    Morganza, Louisiana, USA

    (one of those cities)

  • @robfergusonjr I'm your debtor

  • @belongin then go and watch fuckin spider man ..

  • @Examinerthrash with pleasure

  • LMAO at Ripley44..what an idiot...where does the Patriot Act ban riding motorcycles or regulate handlebar height or style? you might want to start by buying one idiot

  • cool man and clip

  • this is bob dylan not roger McGuinn, isn't it? If I'm wrong, he sounds identical

  • @uprussia thats because its a bob dylan song and they have to have other people sing em cause they were copyrighted.

  • better than the original in my honest opinion. what album is it off?

  • Love this version of the Dylan song by the Byrds..and the imagery from Easy Rider is always great.

  • Ape Hangers, Risers on a Sporty. God, I wish we had our freedom back. phu-k the Patriot Act.

  • @Ripley44mag

Ain't no sporty in this pic...... Dennis rides a hardtail panhead.

  • @Ripley44mag Whos says you have to follow the laws??? Free your mind.

  • Bent out of shape from society's pliers, cares not to come up any higher, but rather get you down in the hole that he's in.

  • I think I prefer this version

  • "He who is not busy being born is busy dying" Why does that line bother me so much?

  • Comment removed

  • @prettyvacant3 Dunno but it basically means you're always coming closer to death, so don't waste your life.

  • Ungefär som volangblus och plastörhängen - det får duga i brist på the real thing.... *LOL*!

  • RIP Dennis Hopper, you wrote and starred in one of my fave movies of all time...this one. God bless.

  • Dennis you live forever man.

    Peter Australia

  • no one will ever be cooler than dennis hopper

  • anyone who wants some extremely helpful insight to this great ass movie shall watch the shaking the cage documentary: and be very pleased.

and why are people talking to Thiefg82 as if he is den den?

    you folks are insane :P

  • That last part with the levy is the road going from Krotz Springs, LA to Melville, LA. It is the road where they were shot at and the chopper caught fire. Hwy 105

  • Dennis Hopper was the best, I bet he's cruising down the road in his motorcycle with Jesus, you know Jesus was the first outlaw.

  • @Beerlejuice Please no religious discussions here, not everyone is christian

  • anybody know what State they picked up Jack Nicholson in?

    thank you.

  • See down the road, Dennis.

  • we'll miss you dennis

  • <3 <3 <3 dennis

  • Rest in Peace Dennis Hopper. You are free at last...thank you for all you gave us.

  • Dennis RIP

It's alright now to go to Heaven

  • It's alright, Dennis,

    Go peacefully to Heaven

    RIP

  • R.I.P. DENNIS HOPPER

  • I never wanted a motorcycle until I saw this movie

  • It looks like Bayou Black coming out of Morgan City on HIghway 90, the old Mc Dermott yard .

I miss Louisiana, Laisse le bon temps rouler,

  • Happy Birthday Bob.

  • Magic - thanks for posting that! (P.S., remember the fish that swam too far from the sea? They've returned to sing of their cognitive dissonance at icrappoetry (.com).)

  • I prefer this version of the song over Dylan's. In fact, it is probably my favorite song in the movie. The searing harmonica that punctuates each verse adds a forboding touch that effectively complements the mundane country scenes (does anyone else remember Esso gas stations?) observed by the bikers. The finale scene that follows makes the song even more meaningful, as the gloom and doom tone takes form. Thanks for the post!

  • the great movie

  • Fucking amazing movie, might be the best ever

  • ohi am soo lonelyy any one up for some chatting with a cute girl

  • i prefer dylans version. i know he cant sing. i just do.

  • @MrKlaymanTom Nah I agree, it's something about the rythmn and tone of his voice that imbues the song with a great intensity and beauty....this guy sounds a bit silly to me (like a rapper almost)

  • @roddyjojo you sayin rappers is silly? kidding, rap is...not my cup of meat. plus im not a big fan of the byrds, which is where this guy is from. all they did was take dylan songs, turn them into so called "folk rock" and end up ruining them. still, this is a good version. just not as good as dlyans.

  • one hell of a shirt Pete has on

  • この映画をみてから、バイクにはまりました。

    このシーンは最高です。

    今は中型免許ですが、いずれは大型免許を取得してハーレーダビッドソンが欲しいです。

  • god bless yo dennis may you pass peacefully and have a cool motorbike in the afterlife, may god have mercy on you, no you didnt blow it, man.

  • respect!

  • @udon001 Beautiful words,fully agree.

  • @udon001 He didn't blow it...we did.

  • man ive been looking for this song for ages..i heard it in the sopranos.. great song..

  • we blew it, man.

  • LINDO DEMAIS!! INESQUECIVEL!! \o/

  • Those iconic choppers were both stolen before the film was released and in all likelyhood parted out. I hope the tards that did it have since come to realize what they destroyed and what a pathetic yield they realized for their efforts.

  • @problem49 That's true, but Peter Fonda had a more philosophical take on that. He figured that when he saw a nice chopper on the road, a little piece of his bike might be on it somewhere, so the bike lives on

  • It is a Bob Dylan song, but Roger McGuinn did it for the soundtrack on Easy Rider. Just listen to the vocals, you can understand what he's saying. hehehe

  • cheap shot. lol.

  • mindblowing music for a mindblowing film man

  • Where did you get this footage? I just watched "Easy Rider" again and none of this was in it. Do you have access to Hopper's original cut (which was significantly longer than the released version)?

  • Hmm, I don't get it. I wonder why the comment the person made below would make someone else want to mark it with a negative? Strange...

  • fun fact: all weed in easy rider is actual weed and they spent more $ on weed than they did on the cost of the entire production.

  • how much was weed back then?

  • what about the cocain in the beginning? ya know from Specter?

  • Great movie and a very inspirational song.

  • buzz of this tune

  • long live bob dylan!

  • @dancetotheradio19 -its not bob dylan. its roger mcguinn

  • @tmctrockband dylan wrote it

  • I don't remember this part(probably way too stoned)

  • Thx for upload all your Easy Riders songs.

Im going to do a CD for my father with all.

  • The whole movie is very real and probably the most un-biased (at least mainstream) film you can find about the hippy lifestyle in the late 1960s. The good and bad of both hippy and establishment are shown well I think, and also the establishment's irregularities across the US.

    Music is amazing too.

  • awesome

  • It's Bob Dylan man!!

  • Damn I hate the ending, makes me get back to reallity

  • Thats life.

  • Yeh, why dont you get one.Suck my cock mothfucker.

  • i kinda of agree but theyre not that bad

  • You are obviously someone who has a bigger need to be insulting than to know the facts.

The original lineup of the Byrds were a dazzling set of talents and wrote a tons of great songs in their own right , several albums and several mega-hits. Eight Miles High to name one that was in a category all by itself. They're Greatest Hits album is one of the top 500 greatest albums of rock according to Rolling Stone and is flawless.

Dylan was delighted to have them popularizing his work.

  • actually their songwriting was pretty weak. Mostly running up and down the scale using crotchets. They haven't got ideas for melodies and how to evolve them. EMH is a good example. McGuinn was good guitarist - that's all. And P.s.: rolling stone is not a good mentor...

  • The Byrds were wonderful people and you are just a talentless bitch, who is living in the worst time in history. Grow up fucker.

  • It seems to be lost on most that people that the Byrds were the American Beatles. It's shitty that the radios nowadays only play "Mr. Tambourine Man" and "Turn Turn Turn"....Dylan may have wrote the songs, but McGuinn had a way of perfecting them. He was one of the pioneers of blending folk/country and rock, with legendary results. The Eagles may not have come around if not for musical pioneers like Roger McGuinn and others.

  • OK three things.

What musical masterpiece have you written lately, did it top the charts?

Just how good are you on guitar? Can YOU play the solo on Eight Miles High?

What music magizine are you publishing? Armchair critics are invaribly talentless, which has to be true in your case.

  • three things

Please, don't call EMH a masterpiece... and for you topping charts is the ultimate success?

I wrote that McGuinn was a good guitarist, so why you asking that? Can't you read properly?

gain publishing is a criteria for you? Not to publish is better rather than publishing a shit. Rolling Stone was ok back in 60s but now it's a joke. Look at the reviews of greatest albums of recent times, always lower than average (if you're a music fan you know about what albums I;m talkin about)

  • Oh obviously you think you know something about music but clearly you're the one who can't read.

EMH is a huge ground breaking masterpiece. READ about it sometime.

I asked if you could play because most "critics" of your caliber can't.

Well if the writing that you've left here is any indication, you couldn't get self published. You seem to think that a scathing review amounts to scatology references.

  • Pathetic shortsighted moron

Obviously you have experienced little but your own selfish fantasies

Try living all of the years from these cuts to whenever.

    And then run your mouth

  • From Easy Rider,to Wall Street and Big Banking CEO Robber barons in one Generation. Baby Boomers are Fucked up so bad you believe your own Bullshit. The World will be better off when were all Dead and forgotten!goldmember1954

  • Go suck a railroad spike.

  • can anyone tell me the locations in that video clip above? i know some of the movie was filmed in morgan city and by the looks of that clip its very similar.

(i worked in morgan city last year and couldn't believe i was in the same place that some of my favourite film was located) - i'm from scotland

  • man It's 40 years ago. I don't think the most locations exist anymore.

  • The restaurant scenes with Fonda, Hopper and Nicholson were shot in Morganza, Louisiana. The men and girls in that scene were all Morganza locals. The scene in which both Captain America and Billy were shot was filmed on Highway 105 North just outside of Krotz Springs, Louisiana, and the two men in the scene were Krotz Springs locals.

  • The Colorado River

  • Chu gots ta be real stupid ta say Colorado River. Day went East, Fool!

  • What are you babbling about?

  • a great movie

  • the original version of this song is from bob dylan, it is on the album bringing it all back home, from 1967. Easy rider is as you know from 69/70. Roger mcguinn and the birds have always been great fans of dylan.

  • That album came out in 65, not 67.

  • that record came out in 65 buddy.

  • sorry you re right, but anyway earlier than the movie ;)

  • Interesting innit naddy0410?

That ending made the film in a way.

Sure, it was superb in many ways already. . But.

Violent, arbitrary death driven by blind narrow-minded hate and prejudice on an otherwise pleasant day.

Immediate rapport with spirit of the Vietnam war / anti-war movement.

    Sinister and final.

    Immense impact.

    Deeply moving.

Few films, few works of any sort achieve that.

I don't think box office anxieties would *allow* a film like that to be released today.

  • great cover of the song

  • i got the 8-track soundtrack

its still in good shape 2

  • filho de uma puta, hahaha desgraçado maldito

    hahah font work publish corporation

  • Nice Bikes,good music,best film ever...sad ending..very sad ending..

  • it's no Dylan of course

but it's still pretty damn good.

    I love McGuinn

  • roger mcguinn sux.i cant believe people like this better than Dylan version. roger in his whole life couldn't write this..he was to relay on covers.

  • Look up the stuff Dylan stole.

  • The best movie ever made.

  • its not that special

  • does anyone know where i can download this song? i want robert mcguinns version and not dylans. i allready tried it with limewire and youtube. but i can't find the full song by mcguinn!

so please send me a pm! thanks very much!!!

  • I've been looking too. I've exhausted all resources, as you've mentioned, plus soundtracks, etc. No luck. I'll let you know if I find it, and vice versa, eh?

    This IS the BEST version!!!

  • you would best to be able to find it on the easy rider soundtrack

this is just as good as the bob dylan version

  • I found it on limewire actually. It's amazing. This video is freedom.

  • "This video is freedom." I know exactly what you mean, man.

  • And freedom is everything. It's my favourite movie of all time.

  • to get the song get the soundtrack from eazy rider on cd

  • just search download youtube videos on google and you can download this song and then convert it to an mp3. hope that helps.

  • meu sonho..

  • God i love this movie

    FREEDOM

  • FREE

  • grande film e grande colonna sonora

  • thats Dylan for you..

  • I loved this movie.

  • This is the most memorable song in Easy Rider in my opinion. Something echoing and stark that catapults the scene into the final moment of conflict where the movie concludes. I am a Dylan enthusiast, but I think many of his songs were better handled by other peformers--here is a sound example. Thanks, Thiefg82 for posting it.

  • Your theory has allot of validity. When Dylan heard Jimi's version of "Along the Watchtower", he said, "that's how I would have recorded it if I could do that".

  • I know most people relate to the Steppenwolf songs in the film an I do too but for me this one really sez it all when it comes to a bike run. How it feels on the way home, when ur knackered an those high bars and vibration from the engine are making your hands numb!!!!

  • I'd like to be Easy Rider and die before the movie's over.

  • if i shut my eyes and listen to this i am 16 again timeles

  • The most powerful movie and song of the 20th century.
