Ler's solo here blows me away. I mean he's such a reserved guy, in interview he barely speaks, so I never really get to know the true Ler. But when I listen to his solo, it just has so much emotion and originality, it feels as if he is speaking to me with his guitar....the true Ler comes out with a guitar in his hands, like all great guitarists. Shit, who isn't short on cash these days. Though, I must say that many Ibanez 5 and 6 string basses are pretty affordable. I just have never liked the tone and action of Ibanez basses. Plus, their necks are too thin for my taste. In my mind, I could toss down $500-$900 on an Ibanez, or I could save another 30% to 50% and get a real bass. But, that is the price-point of Ibanez. They know that most of us won't save for a pro bass, That is why they hang in that middle ground in price.

Well as I said, from a purely technical standpoint, he's not that good. I also said that I love Les' music. I understand the distinction between musicality and technical ability, I'm not trying to say he's not imaginative or anything, but the imprssion I get from alot of people is that they think he is a master player. Now maybe his music is masterful, and what he plays is perfect for his songs, but It's hard to argue that he has the same physical abilities and some of those players I mentioned.
