  • How come it wasn't obvious that everything looked shot back then?

  • the B side is handsome devil

you can send me all the lps now moz. and the t shirt. ill probably just frame that

  • I wonder if I'd be still in with a chance if I entered the competition...

  • I've never seen Morrissey so TV-friendly..........it is surreal.

  • OMG. Like watching paint dry. What was he doing on this crap?!

  • Maybe he hadn't seen Spinal Tap He prob likes it now

  • I hope moz has watched spinal tap by now!

  • is it too late to enter the competition?

  • God Morrissey you were a cunt.

  • @PinkFloydFan74

Were? The man's a genius but seriously...

  • @retrobiff7

Actually, genius is a bit strong; let's go with 'unique talent'.

  • @retrobiff7 Perhaps 'cunt' was a bit strong, but I've never particularly liked him. Each to their own though. All that poncing about with daffodils banging on about how miserable he was just made me miserable :)

  • surreal 80s genuis

  • Good grief

  • Why would that man reccomend such a video to Morrissey? And that jumper...

Ok, I'm about 20 odd years late, but the B-side is Handsome Devil. Do I win? I'd like to meet the person who did actually win! That box set would be very valuable, I guess.

  • this is the sickest thing ever!

  • pebble mill used to depress the fuck out of me........it was always on when there was absolutely nothing else to do but sit on the sofa and watch pebble fuckin mill.

  • this clip alone sums up the sadness of human life.

leaving morrissey to go to waste in the next chair whilst discussing a lionel richie book.

  • Quick fact:

The presenter is paul coia. The first ever continuity annoucner on the launch of Channel 4!

  • I like the way Morrissey talks about the Ready Steady Go video in negative terms (despite the fact that he admits to not having seen it) , when that particular show, the Dusty Springfield Motown Special is a tv landmark & Morrissey is a big Springfield fan.

And what was all that utter nonsense about Lionel Richie? Paul Coia was better suited to "Catchword", the BBC2 quiz show he presented.

  • Hey!

I didn't think the BBC was supposed to advertise stuff! That presenter plugged half a dozen products there! Morrissey is so uncomfortable to watch in interview but he says what he thinks!!!

  • pebble mill was always throwing up guests like this

    bring it back

  • I'd rather have this as early afternoon viewing as opposed to Jeremy fucking Kyle...

    Cool footage.

  • got to love the comparison between the new sophisticated lionel and the old fuzzy one

  • I agree. This is just utterly surreal.

    What was Morrissey thinking?

  • this is the weirdest tv show i've ever seen.

  • Handsome Devil. Handsome Devil.

  • ahhh, pebble mill!

  • Camp i love it i love his deep old man muttering when hes told about something and he dont want to comment on it. lol if some one tells him its good he will mutter"emm well mmmmm errrrrr, lol fantastic lol morrissey is not a missery hes just a typical 80s queen :) god bless the queen:)

  • unbelievable

  • Morrisey is David Hockney for music

  • Morrissey is MINE!

i love that man to pieces!

and i cannot live without him!

    MY LIFE!

  • How odd. That's all i can say. Moz in a tasteful shirt...but that jumper...no no no no no

  • Morrissey, what a handsome fella!

  • lol youre all wrong, its handsome devil

  • lol seriously

  • Jeane!

Now give me my prize, slagger!

  • It's Alan Partridge!

    Perfect show for Morrissey.

I couldn't believe that synthesisers outsold all keyboard related instruments - that blew me away. Can you still get that book?

  • what an unbelievably shite programme - although it's all coming back to me now...........i suppose the modern day equivalent is good morning. morrissey really did well to sit through this painful encounter

  • The great thing about Pebble Mill at One was the incongruous nature of many of the guest. And it was live shite after all.

  • It was Jeane, wasn't it? Do I win tickets?

This is AMAZING. Poor old Morrissey. But a pro through and through. He was ace back then. What happened?

  • i think the answer to morrisseys question is RUBBER RING. is it to late to enter the competition? lol

  • I won that competition i have all the record!!

    You wish!

  • Paul Coia is the presenter...how random are those book & video reviews? Promises of gory Motorhead videos & adult music video compilation reviews. Bizarre. The slight difference in Lionel Richie's appearance really is a huge & fascinating subject, despite the maddening errors to be found Coia pointed out, if there's one thing I can't abide it's errors in books on Lionel Richie, especially re his "coco the clown" era.

  • Nothing "random" about it, it's just bad TV

  • Barry Gibb, Motorhead, an Adult music video compilation...no, nothing remotely random about those choices.

  • OMG I can't believe the man recommended porn to Morrissey while he was celibate!!!

  • LMAO, poor awkward Morrissey having to listen to those Lionel Richie book reviews. Had to laugh when the interviewer said "Morrissey, you'll like this - it's all the rude videos joined together on one VHS". HAHAHA obviously had *no* idea about Morrissey or the Smiths. Love how Morrissey still stays polite and respectful even though he finds most of the review topics unbearable. Fantastic man xx

  • Thanks for posting this vicarinatutugal!

Poor Morrissey had to sit through the painful book and video reviews! By the looks of the presenter's sweater this must be mid 80's. Morrissey's clothing appears so classic and timeless, just like him!
