This man is a True Warrior, a master in his field, a living legend, I have trained with many masters mainly in the oriental arts,I recognise so many of the points he is making. This art is wonderful to behold because of its simplicity, yet deadly and effective means. It would be an honour to learn from this Sage, because that is what he is.

great video. but should you really be teaching non-sikhs these methods? putting this on youtube introduces non-sikhs to the great Sikh art of fighting.

If you speak to Nihang Niddar Singh he will tell you that the art pre-dates Sikhs. Unfortunately many Sikhs just don't want to know about it and therefore if we want to preserve the art then it has to go to whoever can preserve it...Sikh or not!

@beastie1979 I know it pre-dates 'Sikhs', supposedly in the Vedic times, however, i dont believe the Gurus intended every non-sikh to learn and know the art, it was taught specifically to the Sikh Nihangs, the mughals did not know it, neither do many people today. It is so much more than an art, its our history and the SIKHS need to learn and preserve it imo.

Yep, I agree with you for the most part.

I guess the major hurdle though is that so many Sikhs are wilfully ignorant of the art. They prefer to ignore it because it challenges so many of their long held beliefs.

waaah..kya baat hai bahut achay...this man is great i am aware of and have seen the video he speaks of where he was coaxed into a duel with the gatka practicioner....clearly gatka is an exhibition...i know many pppl who do gatka and they can easily be beaten...its for show..as niddar ji says its more prancing around n what not....shahstar vidya is wat was used to fight true battles....n yes gatka is trully for practice n exhibition..raab raaakha...
