As I have said before. I have a very low tolerance. I am a lightweight. I also am taking Ativan 2 times a day on a daily basis. (no different from Xanax) it is very addictive, and I was already dependent on that. The percs came into my life and I was taking them for longer than a month. 5 months in fact. And I would mix with codeine and alcohol. That is what got me addicted.

lose the monotone! lol. Hope you finally finished it out okay. I have been on a petty rapid detox form oxy. I used around 240mg a day of the 30 blue roxies. This is my 5 time detoxing myself and every time it gets harder and harder, but I scored some dones to help ease the pain. The dones pretty much eliminated the pains (achy, restless legs, etc.) I grabbed just enough dones for a 5 day taper. I learned about this at rehab and it works. day 1 25mg day 2 20mgs 3 15 4 10 then last day 5mg
To those of you who want another option...ask your doctor for xanax. You will be able to sleep, you will be able to eat. Working is difficult, but xanax worked for me, and I did not become dependant on it.

And as for you 215chcheech, yes... I am very serious. Maybe you are another addict that is just too brain dead to follow my posts, but like I said I was taking perks codeine and benzos all at the same time. Some times up to 6 mg of ativan while taking 10-15mg of percs as well as the codeine.
I don't know if you are being serious or not but 5mg of oxy is nothing...Yea if you take a bunch, you're gonna feel like crap. But its just like being hungover, a day or 2 you'll be fine, especially from percs. Try doing a few roxys 30mg for 2 weeks straights and then stopping, that's real withdrawals and being addicted. Even worse Xanax, probably the worst withdrawals comes from benzos...
@12footsativa for you maybe .. but, the way drugs make you feel is different for everyone depending on the strength, your tolerance, what else you're taking, your diet, etc.
And if you are trying to quit, and find yourself relapsing, yet still want to do it on your own without the doctors help, That is fine as well. But be advised if you are a heavy addict, taking many pills a day, and quitting cold turkey, can cause severe side effects. Such as seizures, severe nausea, and in some extreme cases, even death.
Addictions like this MUST be slowly tapered off in order to avoid the severe side effects.

When you were going through withdrawals did you have a problem with agitation or anything like that? If you did how long did it take to get over that? Also, the post acute withdrawal symptoms from cold-turkey (the mental health effects) can last up to 6 months or more, tapering off only takes a week longer than CT and will leave you feeling relatively normal, aswell as proud of yourself for beating this beast of a demon. Good luck and stay strong, helpful things include writing a list of reasons to stay clean (things you can do clean, things you can't do strung out, repairing relationships etc), and again, try to have a good support system. <3

In order to be referred, I was then sent to the Pain Clinic, Mental Health services and many others, in the end we had to contact the Detox unit ourselves (My parents and I), we also had to secure funding ourselves, after doing this the D&A centre didn't even have any referral forms for us so we had to ask the detox unit to send us some. This whole process took 6 months, in which time I lost my apartment and ended up hooked on Heroin & Crack aswell as the Oxycontin, however it only took 2 weeks

I think that some people lose sight of the bigger picture of abuse. After 7 days of snorting 80 mg oxy, and you are already tolerant, chances are that you have already begun to develop an addiction. Your on a downward spiral to the worst days of your life if you do not wean off of them NOW. Do not become another statistic.

@scottdlombard After my Car Accident when I hurt my Upper Back and Neck, at my Peak I was taking as "PRESCRIBED" 90mg of Oxycodone Immediate Release Tablets and 90mg of Morphine Contin for 3 months! Even though I "weaned" myself off these medications, the withdrawl was worse than the actual pain I was in. The funny thing is that I never really even got to enjoy the euphoric side effect of these medications as my body so rapidly developed a tolerance. Not worth it for me at least!!!!!!!

I got out of the hospital recently like a few days ago and they prescribed me them but im not in pain anymore but for the past 2 days ive been taking them because ive been achey mostly because i think im getting a cold. for anyone thinking about going cold turkey let me advise you that could be the worst mistake of your life, if you are on a legitimate prescription and feel you need to stop, consult your dr and he will set up a schedule of tapering you along with some possible other meds to alleviate the withdrawel (this varies case to case), going cold Turkey can cause problems at least and seizures or worse at best.

@scottdlombard I get 10/325 every month. I've been taking these for over five years but I'm sure I am not addicted as I take them exactly as presctibed. When I run out I just get tired but I resort to taking my back up meds which are tramadols and they suck. I have a herniated disc and a damaged scitaic nerve from a workplace injury in 2003.

@yoitsdaman you only take 6 5mg oxycodones? thats only 30mg of oxy bro... I am 25 and I personally take 240mg per day, which would be 48 of the 5mg ones you take, and my habit isn't even that high, I know people who take 4X - 5X that amount per day.
Just because someone doesn't take as many as another does not mean shit. My tolerance level was at 15 to 20 Oxycontin 60mg daily or anywhere from 35 to around 50 hydrocodone (Lortab) 10mg. I'm currently going through day 3 of detox and withdrawals. This isnt easy no matter how many or how little you take. I would honestly recommend a detoxing treatment at a rehab center or maybe even inpatient care. It's a hard road to navigate and you must be strong. Speaking from experience

As I have said before. I have a very low tolerance. I am a lightweight. I also am taking Ativan 2 times a day on a daily basis. (no different from Xanax) it is very addictive, and I was already dependent on that. The percs came into my life and I was taking them for longer than a month. 5 months in fact. And I would mix with codeine and alcohol. That is what got me addicted.
I ended up stealing a bottle of liquid perc from family after they had surgery and replaced it with Tyl

This is my 5 time detoxing myself and every time it gets harder and harder, but I scored some dones to help ease the pain. The dones pretty much eliminated the pains (achy, restless legs, etc.) I grabbed just enough dones for a 5 day taper. I learned about this at rehab and it works. day 1 25mg day 2 20mgs 3 15 4 10 then last day 5mg

But its just like being hungover, a day or 2 you'll be fine, especially from percs. Try doing a few roxys 30mg for 2 weeks straights and then stopping, that's real withdrawals and being addicted. Even worse Xanax, probably the worst withdrawals comes from benzos...

And if you are trying to quit, and find yourself relapsing, yet still want to do it on your own without the doctors help, That is fine as well. But be advised if you are a heavy addict, taking many pills a day, and quitting cold turkey, can cause severe side effects. Such as seizures, severe nausea, and in some extreme cases, even death.
Addictions like this MUST be slowly tapered off in order to avoid the severe side effects.

I feel for anybody who has to go withdrawals. I helped my babysister thru narcotic wds about 8 years ago, the saddest thing I ever watched. But, now she has chosen another drug of choice. I'm lucky, the pain I had when I was on Oxy was continuous and was easily treatable with it, but man - I really got a sense of what that stuff is like - synthetic heroin is a monster: being on that stuff all the time ... scary - best of luck!

Also, the post acute withdrawal symptoms from cold-turkey (the mental health effects) can last up to 6 months or more, tapering off only takes a week longer than CT and will leave you feeling relatively normal, aswell as proud of yourself for beating this beast of a demon. Good luck and stay strong, helpful things include writing a list of reasons to stay clean (things you can do clean, things you can't do strung out, repairing relationships etc), and again, try to have a good support system. <3

In order to be referred, I was then sent to the Pain Clinic, Mental Health services and many others, in the end we had to contact the Detox unit ourselves (My parents and I), we also had to secure funding ourselves, after doing this the D&A centre didn't even have any referral forms for us so we had to ask the detox unit to send us some. This whole process took 6 months, in which time I lost my apartment and ended up hooked on Heroin & Crack aswell as the Oxycontin, however it only took 2 weeks

I got addicted in a similar way, I overdosed on a speedball , suffered kidney failure, heart failure and two cardiac arrests (heart stops flatline) then ended up with severe nerve damage to my right leg and was prescribed 120mg of Oxycontin per day. After a couple of months I started snorting, then shooting it, I quit cold turkey once and suffered seizures so I was put back on it. I think that some people lose sight of the bigger picture of abuse. What about all the people that have severe, chronic health issues or injuries that cant get little or any pain control because of all the people who abuse it? Your habit doesnt just affect YOU. After 7 days of snorting 80 mg oxy, and you are already tolerant, chances are that you have already begun to develop an addiction. Your on a downward spiral to the worst days of your life if you do not wean off of them NOW. Do not become another statistic.

@scottdlombard After my Car Accident when I hurt my Upper Back and Neck, at my Peak I was taking as "PRESCRIBED" 90mg of Oxycodone Immediate Release Tablets and 90mg of Morphine Contin for 3 months! Even though I "weaned" myself off these medications, the withdrawl was worse than the actual pain I was in. The funny thing is that I never really even got to enjoy the euphoric side effect of these medications as my body so rapidly developed a tolerance. Not worth it for me at least!!!!!!!

for anyone thinking about going cold turkey let me advise you that could be the worst mistake of your life, if you are on a legitimate prescription and feel you need to stop, consult your dr and he will set up a schedule of tapering you along with some possible other meds to alleviate the withdrawel (this varies case to case), going cold Turkey can cause problems at least and seizures or worse at best.
in fact Amy Winehouse prob died from acute withdrawel from alcohol or poss other meds.

Just because someone doesn't take as many as another does not mean shit. My tolerance level was at 15 to 20 Oxycontin 60mg daily or anywhere from 35 to around 50 hydrocodone (Lortab) 10mg. I'm currently going through day 3 of detox and withdrawals. This isnt easy no matter how many or how little you take. I would honestly recommend a detoxing treatment at a rehab center or maybe even inpatient care. It's a hard road to navigate and you must be strong. Speaking from experience
