  • that isn't a 747 the engines are just strange looking

  • @Anders757747 yes it is a 747. but the company who bought the plane obviously wanted another engines.. for an example: "on June 17, 1975. The 747−200 was the first to provide a choice of powerplant from the three major engine manufacturers"

  • For the world record to be official, you have to do the drive in both directions!

  • Pshh pleaseee. Towing a 747 empty weight witch is approx 380,000 pounds is too easy for that car how about they fill her up with fuel and add water barrels in it to simulate the plane full of passangers to its maximum take off weight of 875,000 pounds THEN. Try towing it

  • those are fake engines so it isnt really the weight of an actual 747

  • @MrRandomppl do you have fact on that those are fake?

  • V-dub!

  • I would love to see any gas piece of shit attempt to do that. VW diesels are legends

  • @leaualorin i can pull it but not lift it, simple i doubt any car can take a 435 ton airplane into the sky and still take it to 85% the speed of sound

  • he calls it a twareg

  • Looks a military configuration; test still valid...

  • when you have overcome the static friction it is down... as though static > kinetic friction

  • now lets see 747 puling touareg.

  • bahhh my smart car can tug an a380

  • 4:14 you can see the back of the turbines, they are a modern design. This plain is propably for testing!

  • Comment removed

  • ok yougearube if you were smart you would know that the 747 engines are not like that. That plane is a replica used in movies to portray fictional "future planes". Maybe you should catch James Bond Casino Royale

  • 155 tons does not count when its on wheels.

  • @ThundareRed it does its all in the landing gear

  • @houshidar558 Well think of it this way. a car weights about 3-4 thousand pounds, You cant lift that but you can push it since its on wheels.

  • @ThundareRed yup, but the way you said it it seemed like you said the boeing didnt weigh 100+ thousand pounds gross weight.

  • that car woul'd be useless after that film.

it's not meant to do that,

but still i prefer the audi Q7.

  • imagine how much a AUDI Q7 with 500hp and 1000NM might be able to pull

  • 4:51 - 5:02 hahaha

  • Why did it take him 3 years to find this lol?

  • now try towing an average American

  • @operationcwaI789789 try towings an averages british mans dentist bill.

  • why did they double pod those engines?

  • Comment removed

  • LOL, that 747 is empty, I think an ex-BA 747. So it's incredibly light.

  • now lets see it tow a antonov 225...

  • its wierd he was going off about how its a strong car but he was able to push it with out it at the end

  • @MrTheTimmyted seriously... i really hope that was a irony.

  • lets see it tow airbus a380

  • i wanna see a Q7 V12TDI pull it :D

  • lets see how it does with the airbus a380 :P

  • The Touareg's standard towbar (fitted with an adapted towing bracket) was hooked up to the nose wheel collar of a Boeing 747 and the chocks were removed. The required tractive effort is at its highest during the initial pull to overcome the static friction of the aircraft tyres on the runway. Flatspots form on the aicraft's18 tyres under the 155 tonnes of weight and additional resistance must be overcome to get the aircraft rolling. Tom's attempt to push the aircraft back is rigged. Source: VW

  • The changes to the Touareg are more modest. Modifications extend to the addition of 4,345 kg of ballast in the form of steel plates set behind the front bumper and beneath the engine. The balance of the ballast was made up by bags of steel balls weighing 25 kg each. The result is a split of 2,755 kg over the front axle and 4,275 kg over the rear to bring the total to 7,030 kg which includes Uwe Krieghoff, the nervous driver. (Before Tom Ford was allowed to drive, Volkswagen tested the rig.)

  • Yes, it's indeed the plane from Top Gear's test track, it's stands on Dunsfold Park. The plane is a Boeing 747-200 former BA aircraft, weighing 155 tonnes and it's complete with 500 seats, 11 toilets and landing gear, albeit without an operating braking system. The engines were removed, to make place for dummy's for the filming of JB's Casino Royale. Despite this, the aircraft still weighs 155 tonnes, due in part to the 28 tonnes of water held on board in the fuel and nose tanks.

  • I can see a man towing that thing

  • If the V10 touareg does this, imagine what the V12 Q7 could do

  • whats up with the engines on the plane,i guess its and older model

  • Try this with a Land Rover ;-P

  • @moud22 it will fall apart.

  • its a little hard to believe that the plane wasn't modified to be lighter cuz at the end of the video, you see a human being move a plane with his arms, so I'mma cal BS

  • @cemsengul16 ............you do notice that they never show the whole of the plane. the video is edited to not show whatever is towing the plane. You are seriously dumb.

  • @cemsengul16 ............you do notice that they never show the whole of the plane. the video is edited to not show whatever is towing the plane.

  • rip off of top gear:/

  • i wanna see the touareg tow the an 225

  • @alexkvaskov a 225 going backwards an fill throttle

  • @52outbound i don't think 10 touareg's could pull that, maybe 50 f-450s lol

  • @alexkvaskov going the other way lol

  • There a mighty jeep altogether, fierce power in them

  • wow... if he can push it then DUH!! obviously a car can pull it!

  • its the 747 from the top gear track, have a look at a top gear video and you will see...

  • ya it is ha. I wonder who owns that beast of a plane

  • can't do that. You forgot the 't on your can.

  • You guys all can't be serious. this IS real. lets look at the facts! A HUMAN is in the Guinness book for pulling a jumbo. 200lb man, cant possibly exert more torque then the Tuareg... and he most certainly doesn't weigh 5 ton. Even if the engines aren't real... that cuts maybe a 1/4 of the weight.. still leaves us with 125 ton... Can your car pull that? Can it even pull 2? I DONT THINK SO.. so STFU

  • the plane is real but it doesnt fly i guess :P

just used for shit like that

    (just a guess)

  • what a weird 747

    engines stick together

and weird ballast on the end of the wings

  • it's a prototype plane i quess.

  • no is the plane they used in casino royale, the modified the engines for the film

  • BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    it's complety impossible having a 4.9L V10 350 horsepower

just count how many tons you have in the 747-300!!

  • what the hell??...the engines on the plane are like..joined together...it aint even a 747-400...not even a 747-800..not even the older 747's :S...

  • its a 747-200B model with removed engines, it was modified for James Bond Movie in casino Royal as the Skyfleet. In J.Bond they added engine to make it look different, but the plane is real but non flying..anymore

  • WOW!!!

  • god bless VW!

  • airports should just buy touregs

  • Simply amazing the vehicle might not actually be able to tow the jet but movement alone shows just what a well built diesel engine can do and this is why quite soon they might replace all gas engines the true future though is going to diesel hybrids as they can get extreme fuel mileage with electric motors

  • NOT BUILT IN AMERICA

  • Hey did you really puch the Jumbo 747 only yourself? hahahahahaha I believe you have the best sense of humour and world needs people like you more and more.

    Thanks for sharing this video.

    :-)

  • Impressive! VW <3

  • MOVE? yes, TOW, my ass, So does a strongman contest can pull one with his mouth.

Tow, nope, 1000lbs tow rating less than an Hummer H2, yet burns more gas and needs premium fuel. Also toop C02 emitter, ten places above an H2. Also less interior room and cost 12K more. Sports car SUV for the mall, go for it and Enjoy, its a rocket. Try towing down a highway and stopping, what a load of crap. Semi can't tow a jet and stop it over 8 mph. What a fool believes, ground is flat as a pancake.

  • First off Dumb ass this Touareg is a TDI which means it runs off diesel, not gas. Second the Touareg is a lot nicer than a H2.

  • $68,340 for a VW that tows 7700 lbs., a two inch longer H2 pulls 400 lbs more, @ 10K less (MSRP). At $4.55 vs. $3.76 a gallon maybe you can tell us how much your paying over premium dumb ass? 747 weighs 910,000l lbs., so get 118 VW's to pull one per OEM guidelines.

Any VW at 60K+, equals one big dumb ass purchase (see Phaetheon w12), but if you like the looks, buy it, but be true, its 10K higher. Looks, go enjoy it, mine is to haul 8000 lb, sit 7, fit in the garage at 180" match that? NAH

  • Well since I don't have a Touareg, I didn't pay that much for it. And seeing how all they did to the Touareg in this video, was add weight, and add more air pressure in the tires is amazing that it could move that 747. Besides not many people ever uses a H2, to do what they are intended for, and same with SUVs. A least the Touareg V12 TDI gets better gas mileage than your H2. Why would you buy such a bad vehicle, other than looking like a dumb ass driving around town in a H2.

  • I own a Hummer? Where did you read that dumb ass? My purpose in buying is to replace a truck that uses for more gas, 2500 suburban, hauls 4000lbs in wild rescue horses, 3000lb trailer, hence the 8000 lb rating sits 8. There are two big 2000lb asses pointing out the back, In Colorado, we use the hell out of H1's and H2s, some with 300K plus, we loose 20% HP with altitude. USR6AUDI, try once something positive than rip others. No more comments for someone this shallow "How I Look"!! WOW!

  • dooosh strong car xD

  • What kind of 747 is that? I have never seen 747 engines set up like that before.

  • don't be fooled

its just the perspective of the camera

you should see in other shots of the 747 that its engine configuration is normal

  • the engine configuration arent normal... theres two engine on 1 pod... like theres two engines mounted together on 1 engine mount on the wing, and theres an external fuel tank mounted in place of the outer engine mount... so yea... idk why ur saying theyre normal. normal would have 1 engine on 1 mount with no external fuel tanks.

  • I believe its the same plane they used in Casino Royale, there prolly fake engines etc..

  • it is:) fake idk:( looks bad ass tho

  • haha yeh shoulda been the A380 tho

  • @yougeartube No its not. the engines are definitely not in the normal position. As well as an odd vertical stabilizer.

  • @yougeartube wtf are you talking about? I'm so sick of people saying random totally untrue BS on youtube.

This aircraft was modified for a number of movies and isn't flight-worthy or certified, they just lease it out for different things (like this) - totally NOT normal and the ONLY 747 in the world with this "engine" configuration (at ~15mil a pop, I promise you there aren't any engines in there.. just a fake fan disc)

  • @yougeartube umm no its not a normal 4 separate config but 2 twins. Clearly seen in multiple shots. Are you even watching the same video?

  • @yougeartube I dont think so...this is the same 747 on the top gear track...and you can see in any TG vid that shows it that its has that funkey set up of the engines...

  • @yougeartube but what is this?

  • @yougeartube wrong its the 747 in the james bond movie

  • @yougeartube it actually IS configured like that. This was actually the plane used to shoot parts of Casino Royale several years back.

  • @yougeartube its not an ordinary 747 look at the engines 46seconds into the video

  • @yougeartube actually i think LordBigDog is right... the engines are 2 per pylon with what looks like external fuel tanks on the outboard pylons.. never seen that either. must be kind of old or something

  • Comment removed

  • @yougeartube no it's not a regular 747, i think it may be some sort of military or other configuration

  • @yougeartube - Google "Boeing 747 Dunsfold" to learn more about that particular aircraft - it is used in TV and film sets, and was configured like that for a scene in Casino Royale :)

  • @yougeartube : See my other comment. There is nothing normal about the 747 in question.

  • @LordBigDog its a 747-200. old house from 1960's 747

  • @LordBigDog thats the plane from the top gear track, its also the plane that almost gets blown up in casino royale, the engines are just dummies

  • @LordBigDog

I agree, check out on 2:01

  • @LordBigDog

I agree, check out at 2:01

  • @LordBigDog the reason why it is like that is because this was the plane used in the movie Casino Royal. They changed to config of the engines so it didnt look like a 747, hence the weird engine config.

  • @LordBigDog actually that plane is no longer in use so i believe that they use it now for some sorts of testing

  • @LordBigDog

Actually that was the Boeing 747 that was in the james bond movie Casino Royale. Its engines were modified for the movie thats why they look like that. This ad must have been shot just before the movie was shot

  • @LordBigDog : She is a modified and decommissioned 747 that was used as a prop in the James Bond movie, Casino Royal.
