  • Classic. I loved this song in jr.H.S. & have looked 4 it ever since, man i can't believe where are they now?

  • Dreamboy is having a reunion dinner/meeting this weekend 07/16/11 in Detroit. Possible members of Ready for the World present. If you know someone who knows someone, find out where and come on by!

  • @01mstamika Warner Brothers/WEA probably had 'I Promise (I Do Love You)' removed from You Tube. WEA, who controls the rights to that great song, is on a copyright infringement crusade. I'm thankful that my video was ntouched by WEA.

  • this was out when i was a shorty

  • @donke32 Yes indeed. Glad you like this classic music

  • well it's good to see someone has the peace of mind to know that my homeboys can get down. • O man! I am so grateful for this moment. Thank you for giving me a great memory. I remember playing friends on rotation (amongst the other fantastic pieces)...."Ooooo we'll be friends forever, we'll be friends forever more".....thats a nice thought. Makes me think about friendships I should've put more effort into.

    Thanks again for posting this..........really.

  • @Shed360 Thanks for watching and posting your heartfelt comments, which I agree with you on. 'Friends' is also an important song for me, and it's timeless lyrics grab my heart everytime the song is played.

  • @seand67 ...It will ALWAYS be a classic to me. Thank you once again, I appreciate it.

They were ahead of there time.

  • @ROB3RT2008 I'm shocked that both of Dreamboy's albums haven't been remastered & released on a single CD. Glad you still have 'Contact'....great album

  • @seand67

I'm not shocked. However, I'm still holding ou. I do have both albums though.

Slow drag at a basement party like a mug! 1200 block of Walnut, Decatur, IL. Brady's basement!

  • Man Friends was the cut, that was like the graduation song back in the day. Were they out of Detroit?

  • @feetnick Thanks for watching. Yes, I almost tear up when I hear 'Friends'...awesome

  • @feetnick

That's a good ? I posted a long time ago that we thought that Dreamboy had dropped another track when Tonite came out. Of coarse, it wasn't Dreamboy. It was Ready For the World. A Detroit band, if I recall correctly.

  • @LETMEC4FREE Sorry.. R F T W was outta my home town of Flint MI take care

  • @feetnick

they formed at oak park high school. I'm gonna tease the shit out of Jeff Bass for that look he's go there. Jeff and his brother Mark went on to produce and discovered and signed Marshall Mathers. Way before Dre was in the picture. Jeff won an academy award for co writing the 9 mile soundtrack

  • @TheAldo420 Thanks for this information

  • Still one of my most favorite groups!!!

  • @ZukiBiker13 Yes, I was so lucky to find a mint copy of the 'Contact' album last year. Since Warner Brothers won't sell Dreamboy on CD, I had to do something. This music takes me back to High School, and the lyrics are special to me. Simply TIMELESS music & talent that isn't promoted these days. Thanks for stopping by. Peace

  • This brings back some memories. I get butterflies when I here this kind of music, It really touches your heart. What happen, the music now days is so shallow. In a way, I blame the music for so many bad relationships and infidelity. Where is the love???? Do people believe in friendship and true love anymore???? I hope so.

  • Yes indeed. Thanks for your GREAT comments

  • Good point

  • the 80's undoubtedly the greatest decade ever nice post.

  • Thanks, glad you enjoyed this rare music

  • Love the 80s, I was 15 years old when this came out, I used to run around L.A. with this record, being asian and loving soul music, my friends used to look at me funny. thanks for posting

  • Thanks for watching and posting your comments. YES, the 80's were indeed special!!

  • Dreamboy sang real "love songs" not this freaky rated R mess they play today. I miss the good 'ol days

  • I agree. The lyrics were on point. Not the blatant & ignorant crap being promoted today

  • I hit puberty on this song, and didn't realize it until years later.

  • WOW!! Cleveland kids wore the hell out of this record!

  • Some of these artists may not be around anymore hell some them may be deceased but one thing that that will never die and one thing wil always have even if its listenin through a computer is there timeless music groove on my friends.

  • Thanks for that comment...I agree 110%

  • One of the things that really killed most of the 80's groups is that synthesized studio. The sound only fit that time. Yet many of them were actually talented but hindered

  • What? Go get LotusFlow3r by Prince and see how it fits in 2009 when it is in the right hands. There is no such thing as a sound only fitting into one time period to those of us who actually know what the hel they are talking about.

  • I feel ya on that and no insults to those who know what they are talkin bout. Prince can do what he wanna do, everybody aint prince. Prince is perhaps the most evolutionary artists out there. which proves my point. he didn't keep doing the same style of music in the late 80's as he did in the early 80's . He knew the vibe and sound required change. Gotta admit cllamont you don't hear this music anymore. thats why we are both checkin out these old school songs right?

  • @1voodoostick I disagree with that comment. The synthesized sound didn't kill the 80's groups, the greedy record companies killed the 80's groups along with the latest up and coming trend, or shift in the business, "hip hop".

Many of those groups still made GREAT MUSIC but the people putting it out saw more of a return in monies from the "gansta" rap of hip hop!!

They just went in a different direction. They followed the money!!

  • I loved this group back in the 80's! The lead singer Jeff always has a place in my heart ! ..They should come back and sing Gospel!

  • I recall when Ready For the World dropped Tonite, we all thought that Dreamboy dropped a new album.

    Damn this is good!

  • I have this album... It is still the bomb!

  • Do you have the title song of Dreamboy's Albume called Contact. There was also a video of the song Contact made by Dreamboy. It was the only vidoe they made. The Band Dreamboy was good, they should have a reunion.

  • hahahah thats my dad in the blue jean shirt hahahahah i talk a bout him err time about it........he was the bass player

  • Well If Thats Really Your Pops, Those were some Bad Ass Cats!! They did it way before allot of Bands Copied Their Sounds!! Tell Your Pops I give Him Much Props! They need to do a Reunion with Some of the Old school tours that still play every now and then!

  • Really: where were the dreamboys from? And are they still doing music or touring? I thought that they were one of the most underrated groups at that time. They got lost in the shuffle....They were good though.

  • Thanks for watching & posting a comment. I have no idea where the members of Dreamboy are, but their 2 albums were SO HARD to locate in mint condition (hmmm...another band I love!!).

  • @piru5blood5 Heyyy, whats your name? My dad is George. The drum player....

  • @GabrielleTwymon YOUR DAD IS THE BIZNASS... TELL HIM I SAID THAT FROM CLEVELAND BUT I LIVE IN LA NOW...MUCH PROPS WHERE R THEY NOW? I MISS THEM THEIR SONGS SHOULD B REDONE TODAY. LET ME KNOW WHO WROTE THEM

  • These brothers were bad. I got this album at a radio station basketball game when I was living in the ATL in the 80's.
