She almost did get herself killed once she stood up for him and his family after she accidently stabbed him. I get ticked off when people say, they hate her for it because it was an accident. I personally don't even hate her even when she becomes The Shredder, I mean she wants revenge on the people that killed her father, who would not at least WANT to harm somebody who's done harm to their family. I only hate her in Scion Of The Shredder, and only because she was annoying me.

You can see in the beginning of the vid when Leo helps Karai up when she fell that he held onto her hand until she was all the way up so she didn't fall again. Did you ever hear the saying "I helped them and we were friends and then she(or he but in this case she) turned around and stabbed me in the back" well for Leo it was a real stab and through the shoulder.Poor Leo.......

After Leo gets stabbed by Karai and they all almost get killed by Shredder Leo gets a lot darker and even depressed by it. He holds in a lot of anger over what happened and it comes out in really unhealthy ways... I thought it was pretty cool to see that side of him actually ;)

ok i hated it when leo had a temper! he showed NO mercy what so ever, all he did was train. he always thought he failed but they didn't fully. when leo was stabbed he had such a temeper because he thought he failed to get shredder for the last time so he thought he failed his family and the utroms. but he didn't he tried his best. thats all anyone could ask.

You're right about Leo, but as he tells April in "Sons of the Silent Age", he just wasn't able to see it rationally. Sadly, I think his problem is a lot deeper than just what happened with Shredder. Those events made repressed feelings come to the surface and explode, but he always seemed to try too hard to be perfect. (Remember when he'd go training very early in "The Shredder Strikes Back" and how he was already way too serious as a child in "Tales of Leo"?)

Oh, and I'm forgetting "City at War", in which he even feels responsible for the increasing territory fights in New York...

My theory is that, having grown up with the pressure of being Splinter's best student and chosen leader, Leo always felt he had to be worthy of that confidance in him, as if he wasn't already. For some reason (maybe a lack of encouragement during his childhood?), he doubted he had what it takes to protect his family and to make his father proud.

After "Exodus", Leo always talks about "failure" and not being "good enough". I think he had adopted an exemplary personality that wasn't really his, which resulted in (unconscious) resentment against Splinter for not making him feel he was loved just as he was. But of course, he didn't want to be angry with his beloved sensei, so he repressed his frustration. And in what I suspect to be a self-punishing way, he also took all the responsibility of his brothers' actions upon his own shoulders...

I love that show! The turtles' personalities are believable and well developed, and those little details (especially concerning Leo) all seem to make sense from the start.

yah there's a lot to talk about in this movie. he did become serious very early. but both times in exodus and in the shredder strikes back he blamed something that wasn't his fault on himself. sense hes the leader he thinks he should always do everything right, if he doesn't it's like he turns into a rock stubborn to move and waits for someone to trip on. hes just holding all of that pressure inside him until he just blows and cant hold it anymore. oh yah he also shows that in city at war too.

Yup, I think Leo couldn't bear the fact there were things he just couldn't control, no matter how hard he tried. In "Samurai Tourists", he tells Usagi: "I will decide what I can and cannot change." Pride must have something to do with it, because in "The Ancient One" we can see he cared too much about his "honor" when there were more important things.

He had to accept that he wasn't perfect, and that he had the right to make mistakes and to learn from them. He never had to prove anything to be accepted in the family, because just being himself was enough for them, even though it wasn't for him. I'm very glad he finally realized what a heavy burden he had been carrying without having to. Everybody loves him when he's just doing his best instead of trying to accomplish the impossible.

i'm so with u on that. i mean i know leo didn't mean it but he didn't show any mercy on anything he fought like before when he didn't have such a temper he let some have a chance. so in my opinion leo's honor was just a little weak after that fight with shredder.

Yeah, his real sense of honor and justice is probably one of his most admirable qualities. I like how he'd show compassion to people who didn't deserve it, like when he kept sparing (and even saving) Karai's life even though she was still trying to kill him. It's true that later, he hardened his heart and became more obsessed with his personal vision of "honor" (the one that had more to do with the fear of failing than with noble feelings), until he became conscious of it and chose to reject it.
