@XxRaN96xX There are hints in the datamined files that there are multi-language files, which suggests that this game will have worldwide servers that allows international players to play with each other (i.e. JP and Western players in one group). PSP2i and PSU didn't have this (and it was ultimately a really bad decision on their part) but here's hoping that we'll be able to play internationally. It's fairly likely that we'll at LEAST get a Western release though.
I've yet to see a Hunter use Resta, is that forever gone? I know that Techs and such can be set to the "Action Bar" or "Number Keys", whatever it's called and not only the weapons like in PSU, so I was wondering. Also since you have played and will play again come Feb 1th I would guess, what's the whole "Create Your Own combo's" thing about? In PSU there was, attack, attack, attack, Pa, Pa, Pa. Or just attack and Pa just attack. I'm really interested in the "Original Combo" thing.
@Tkthegreat14 Techs SO FAR look like they can only be done on Forces. I hope in the future they will allow for hybridization. Perhaps they won't to make consumables actually worth something, but you could hybridize in PSP2:I, so I'm sure Sakai has something in the works for that. You can do all techs either with a rod (to amplify your power) or barehanded through the hotkeyed techs/action bar.
@Keirnoth Ah I see, but since this game has PP I see consumables being used much more. Because in the heat of battle one would be using PA's which waste PP as well as the Knock Up move and if a Hunter could use Resta that would also waste PP and I thought the Dash/Roll/Teleport thing was going to use up PP? Overall I won't mind though.
@Tkthegreat14 The dash/roll/teleport doesn't use PP. The Ranger's roll has recovery, while the Force's teleport is kinda.. floaty. So even though they have similar uses they have different properties.
@Keirnoth Yeah I have noticed that from the tons of videos but that's just it, I thought they were going to make it so it used PP. I guess they found a better way, I don't mind of course. Oh yes, they are each different. The step seems to give Hunters a better edge rather then them having the roll or teleport thing, I'm glad they didn't just give them all a roll and call it a day.
@Tkthegreat14 Regarding PAs, you know how in PSU, one PA was attached to one weapon? It's different here. You can attach up to THREE PAs to one weapon. After your first normal attack, the game cycles through each PA, from the first to the third. So if you do a PA right off the bat, it will do equipped PA #1, but after 2 normal hits, it will do PA #2. After 3 hits, it will do PA #3, after 4 hits, it cycles back to PA #1. This means you need fewer weapons for your PAs.
@Tkthegreat14 On top of that, the game cycles through your PAs after you do PAs too. So you can do two normal hits, then do PA #1, then PA #2, then PA #3. And here's the cool part, PAs are cancellable back into normal attacks too, so you can do like 3 normal hits, PA #3, then two normal hits, PA #2, chained into PA #3, etc. Like I said in my description, it's pretty much a lighter version of a Devil May Cry style system. I like it.
@Keirnoth Now that's what I'm talking about, putting any form of canceling has pushed this game further. Lol Good fewer weapons, I had like 3 Swords in PSU. And they have taken out leveling PA's, I don't know if that's a good thing or not. Mostly because they also took out Character Levels, my question is so far from you playing, do you think the Skill Tree and finding rares will be enough to keep a person playing? For me I'm guessing yeah haha. Thanks for the info, it all sounds good.
@Tkthegreat14 From what I can tell, Sakai looks like he's trying to consolidate weapon types so that one weapon type does multiple functions.
But yeah, it's too early to tell if the game has longevity. The Skill Trees are a nice touch, but if Sakai truly wants this game to be a "real" PSO sequel, there needs to be TONS of loot to be found.
@Keirnoth I like that, it'll make me wanna use different weapons.
Fair enough, and I agree. The loot was a big thing I remember about PSO. I'm not disappointed in the least from what I've seen so far, it's just awesome.
@CrownofSapphire No idea if they'll do PvP. Take note, Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity had a PvPish sorta mode, and the old PSO1 had Battle Mode implemented with different "rules" you could use. So I'm pretty sure they'll add some sort of optional PvP mode. However PvP has never been the focus of the PSO/PSU series. I'm not a PvP guy so I'm not too concerned if there's none.
@supermarioz5 Alpha's closed. Beta probably will be closed but they may take participants in. They plan on doing an open beta before release this summer.
fuck yeah

I hope you can fight people this time and that they make swords clash.
Just killing animals all the time makes me feel more like a poacher than
a fighter. :|
