There are threads on how to do it on the SPORE website. But basically you have to create a lot of creatures of all three types. Carnivore, herbivore, and omnivore. then you can select to play only your own creations, or you can subscribe to a sporecast and select it when you start a game.

its easy to make a sabertooth head.. just put any mouth then put a keratinhorn (weapon) then put it on its mouth and change the angle so they point downwards. done.
