Aw that's so cute... Your dog should not be allowed to lick the guinea. And the sounds your guinea is making are stress sounds. The only times my guinea make sounds like that is when they are afraid. Guinea pigs making a type of purring sound when they are happy.

I had a Guinea Pig once that bonded remarkarbly well with my old dog, which was a Chow/Lab mix. My dog was awesome and she was smart. I would go outside each day to let my dog get used to my Guinea and they bonded. One time, my grandparents left the Guinea's cage outside and a Hawk landed in front of the cage, trying to kill my Guinea. My dog was sleeping across the yard and I heard crazy barking, i ran outside and saw my dog trying to kill the Hawk for daring to go near the Guinea Pig.

A guinea pig could be very well looked after physically but they may be scared of/not well bonded with a person, which is hard to tell, except for wide eyes, this noise I think. I remember our female guinea pigs also made this noise when a male guinea pig was trying to mate with them, honestly the noise sounds like subtle annoyance/get away to me. The more respect & treats you give to an animal, the less they will fear you & enjoy your company.

I know all my guinea pigs very well (and their "body language"), and this one is not afraid at all. He is chewing and chatting, that means he is totally relaxed. Otherwise he would run away or say a warning sound. He has met this dog a lot of times and he is always calm. This piggie is neutered (just like my other boars) and he lives with some female piggies, so he is very happy!
