Fuu is 15, and Jin is 20. That is officially how old they are. Considering the age differences back then in ordeals such as arranged marriages, this mere 5 year difference is no big deal. On a side note, Mugen is "19-20", as said on Absolute Anime (website) with all their info and profiles and stuff.

I do think Fuu had a crush on Mugen in the show. In my opinion none of the couples FuuxJin or FuuxMugen, was quite right at that time. I think they would need a couple of years before I could imagine shipping them,. Besides, any two of them pairing up would disrupt the harmony in the group imho. With that said, the shipper in me does tend to want Fuu with Jin. I don't know. I guess Mugen just feels like a childhood crush while Jin is a keeper ;)

Also, Jin x Fuu is more hinted to than Mugen x Fuu, just look at how jealous she gets when Jin is in love with Shino, and how she starts crying when Jin agrees to go with Sara, and also, in her diary, there were lots of hints that she was in love with Jin, or at least had a crush on him. (And yeah, I know the diary was just a joke, but I don't think she just made up all that stuff about Jin)

haha, glad theres actually some champloo AMVs up on the TUBE, Ive been watching the series again recently even after all these years it still rocks, Mugen & Gin are still badasses & Fuu's Still Hot! Great series, in fact probably one of my top 10 action series overall.

Saying something about if she wasn't sure what she'd do after they found her father he could ... (and he trailed off due to Fuu). Mugen was watching (enviously?)

Jin and Mugen both are original and unoriginal though, they exist in other anime more or less.
