@SuperExoticCars it could be ur internet connection problem and it could be ur signal strength because it happened to me and i went close to my internet router and that solved the problem.

You just need to update it one time.. From 2.0 or something, to the newest one 2.60 today..

This update totally fucked my system up and I can't play any games now.

What happens when you try to start a game..?

Nothing, just the little loading sign in the top right corner and the icon for the disk doesn't come up at all. I'm sending it in to Sony for repairs. Makes me want an Xbox 360 and I'm thinking about just chucking the PS3 out the window.

Don't send the PS3 in to Sony.. It will take you about a month to get it repaired.. And all your stuff will be deleted.. Try this: Take a Memory Card or USB and transfer all the importan stuff that you will keep.. When you have done that, restore your PS3.. Follow those steps..

1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.

2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.

3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/1 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isnt detected after initial reset).

And another thing.. The Xbox 360 is'nt that good either.. I've got a PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Xbox, PS2, PS1, PSP and a Nintendo DS.. Well, The only 2 consoles that has broken by now is the PS3 and 360, and the 360 is the worst one.. :(

The dead ring appears a lot.. I've send it in to get it repaired for about 7 times now from the release date.. And believe me, it does'nt stand in a hot place, or has anything else that could let it die.. I've got my own company, and we are using all those consoles to create gameplay videos and stuff, and we got some guys from Sony and Microsoft.. So i know when i do something wrong with them..

I didn't experience any problems until this update.  I have the 2 year warranty from Wal-Mart, so I just took my 40 gig back and they exchanged it for the new 80 gig. I think its mostly affecting older systems.

I think you're right.. I got the 60GB, the first PS3 console.. And it has a lot of extra hardware inside, and can play all PS2 and PS1 games.. But anyway, that will do the console more unstable, because of all the hardware..

There's no differents between those two consoles, the only different is the memory. ;) Buy the 160GB..

the 60 gig uses 95% of its power if its NTSC. which is a good thing. i have a 60 gig

Yeah, the 60GB is the greatest one of all PS3 consoles.. But if you want the full HD experience, then you're going to buy the PAL version.. Because PAL has the real HD experience.. NTSC don´t have the real HD, so it's not so clear pic's as PAL.. But there's no differents between the consoles if you're talking about features.. I have a PS3 60GB PAL version console.. A full Samsung HD TV 42" and 7.1 Dolby Surround.. That will take you to the highest level of everything..

well actually. if you get the hd cords for the regular ps3 and switch it in the settings. you can get HD like the 360

You can´t compare the PS3 and the 360.. They don´t have the same graphic-card, or processor.. And HDMI is the only cable that supports the full feature of HD.. The new 360 Elite has HDMI, but it´s still not the same as PS3.. I can tell you, because i own the 360 Elite, PS3 60GB PAL, Wii, Nintendo DS, PSP 1004 and PSP 3000.. So i can compare them, with the same settings.. And use the same TV that supports Full HD PAL..

Which is better SECAM, PAL or NTSC? Also isn't a minor gap between NTSC and PAL that's not noticeable during regular use.

All persons in the EU os getting the same update.. So it is strange, that you don´t have any problems with that update.. But it does not appear all the time, the problems arrives sometimes.. And some of my friends in my area where i live, has the same problems as me..

I used a DVD Recorder with harddrive, and Sony Vegas Pro, Pinnacle Studio, Avid, Adobe After Effects CS4.. :) Hehe.. The Graphic is HD after the render..

UPDATE: There is some failures with the update.

Sometimes the virtual keyboard freezes.

And then you have to restart your console.

And as you see in the video, the player turns black, or goes back to an other site that you have been on right before.
