Yes, RESPECT! Those "children" =some of those gentlemen or over 18= refer to adults OUTSIDE the studio by their last name or, more often "Sir" & "Ma'dam". However, this was MY black belt testing AND my son (& others) have already EARNED 2ND DEGREE BLACK BELTS! As a STUDENT, it is RESPECTFUL for me (a non-black belt at the time) & my responsibility to refer to ALL BLACK BELTS as Mr. or Miss/Mrs. Color belts are referred to by their 1st name. It distinguishes rank, achievement, & effort.
