I don't see the point of this card. If you WORK with audio, you will obviously use an audio interface, and this is not a proper one. If you don't work with audio, just listen to mp3s, you will hear absolutely no increase in sound quality, probably just an EQ, with some bass, and high boost...

This is a total sales pitch..

Sound quality is good. Nothing special - the card is ONLY a high quality DAC. No hardware acceleration or isolation.

It's all in software. Don't expect wonders from the mp3 improvement (there are other ways to do this).

Also, performance is lower in games that from an internal card, since it has no hardware acceleration and most internal cards these days do have real acceleration.

im pretty sure this device is more than best for low latency. its from MARS!

but delays are caused by weak processors and bad sample rate and "ms latency" settings

make sure you Disable the recording audio devices you don't need ON. usually you have like several running at once

and dont know it

right click Speaker Icon

select "recording devices*

right click on empty space

select "show disabled devices"

Enable only one recording device. the rest Disable :)

I got the same problem on toshiba... it's very frustating to have this delay when you record something (in fact you can't hear live your recording becouse it confuse you letting you hear the sound from the speakers with 1 sec of delay). So I thought that a usb card should fit it, but I'm not sure... is there anyone that got it with one notebook that got this delay and fixed it?

I recently bought ASUS Maximus Forumula 2 motherboard for my PC and that had also Sound Blaster X-FI as accessorie and one of that f__cing soundcard screw connected to my motherboard so it caused short circuit. Both are from the SAME BOX, BY THE SAME Company - how the hell is that possible. Dont they test it first?

Is it really true that sound cards greatly improve sound quality when using the same speakers? My speakers are the normal 3 piece set (2 speakers and a subwoofer) and they're about 2 years old. Would a new card make sound wayyy better on my PC compared to my integrated sound (3 month old motherboard).

how old is the motherboard because current motherboards have pretty good sounds as is X-fi still better but still really good older mother boards had really bad sound because it wasn't important 3-4 years ago but im not going to say you will notice the difference using basic speakers I have a really good head set from auido-technica and you can really hear the difference but if you just using basic speakers or basic headset I would not recommend this

I would not get a sound card in your case unless you plan on getting high end speakers or headphones I really don't think you would notice the difference and if your into games there isn't many games that fully support creative sound cards they make mp3s in lossless codec sound great but with ur current setup i don't think it would be worth the 100 bucks for the sound card

Try SRS Audio Sandbox. Best sound enhancement software I've ever used. It made my on board audio sound like it comes from a high end sound card. Supports 5 channel audio, and creates virtual speakers if you have 2 channel speakers.
