what thielemann says at 5:20 is wrongly translated. he doesnt say "easily said" but rather "good phrase" or "good sentence" (referring to karajan saying "fill the notes with life")

Er war und bleibt der größte Dirigent des 20. Jahrhunderts. Eine Ausnahmeerscheinung. Und er hatte sein Handwerk von der Pike auf gelernt, er ging die noch ganz alte Schule durch. Wie nur wenige Dirigenten. Ich zolle ihm heute noch als Musiker größten Respekt und Dank für sein Lebenswerk. Einen solchen Magier mit Sinn für Farben und Nuancen gibt es leider heute nicht mehr. Tragisch sein Krach mit den Berliner Philharmonikern. Das letzte Silvesterkonzert 1988 bleibt mir unvergessen.

I think it is the third movement of the ninth symphonie by Beethoven. That part starts 3-4 minutes before the movement ends.
