  • I'm curious about the Mormon's response to the following situation; Suppose a young, teenage boy who was a Mormon one day came into the church and announced; "I was walking in the woods, praying; and a vision of God came to me. He said 'The LDS church is not my church. It is a lie. Mormons follow a prophet who's not my prophet. He is false".

Here's my question; What is the 'basis' for the LDS Church NOT to believe the teenage boy?

  • @mikeisi you ask what "basis" would be used not to believe a teenage who prayed in the woods. First of all who is the boy, what is his background who is the church he is saying this to and what is their basis for priesthood authority, what is it that this boy claims to believe in exactly and of course I'd need to know more background and exactly the full story to make any such reply to your question.

  • @mikeisi the prophet Joseph Smith first of all never asked for the vision of God the Father and God the son he was a simple farm boy who was brought up in a very devout Christian home and who had nothing but integrity as his upbringing. In fact, one of the most impressive things to me was that when he reluctantly first told his father and family about his experience they immediately believed him because of his character. Even the locals knew his family had integrity and tried to get the plates.
