Beautiful IROC! How easy was the T56 swap? (thousandth time im sure you have been asked that) but I have a 85 Lb9 Z28 that needs some mods. I have looked at the posts on TGO and other places and it seems pretty easy... How much did it cost you? Thanks.

Why would you want to swap in a 305? You can make more with a 350.

My friend bought one today with alot of mileage too. It's not very fast, but it's nice anyways. Is yours manual ? if so how did you swap it ? Would a t56 from a 94 + swap on ?

It was a 5 speed then I swaped it tp a t56. Yes a 93-02 t56 will work its just the 93-97 lt1 trans are a little different to swap then the 98-02 ls1 trans.

Thanks. My friend has an 89 Iroc Z with the 350. The engine is old and i think he should just swap out for a 305 with a t5, but if he keeps the 350 or swaps another in, what manual transmission would you recommend he swaps in ? he's looking for something that'll be easy to swap in. Is the t-5 good enough?

I would recommend the LT1 style t56. Its not hard to swap and is easier then the ls1 style t56. If you do get a lt1 style get it from a 94-97 the 93 is weaker and has a tighter gear ratio which is bad for a close to stock car. That Iroc in the vid has been through 3 different t-5's in its life.

torque is really usuable with a manual tho if you got a good clutch. i bet this thing is fast for 200 hp.

YA I actually hopefully will have another video of this car but with a 350 holley stealth ram set up with shortie headers and a cat less y pipe. Should put down a little more power.

They come up with little horsepower but they are 15 sec cars.

Ya They are suppose to be good for mid 14's if you can drive at all.

They are 17's 9.5 inch's wide rim. I think they are 54mm offset. Cant remember but I had to get 4 2inch spacers for them to fit. The spacers work just fine. No problems at all.

It says at the end of the video. 203 hp and 264 tq. Thats with a 305. I just recently blew out my rear main on it. So in goes a much more respectable 350, can't wait.

The wheels I got off ebay. The 6 speed swap is from Ebay as well.

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but I'm assuming that you are talking about the t56? Yes it bolts right up if you get a complete swap. The only thing is is you need to cut the hole where the shifter goes back a inch and you need a custom cross member.
