Hey, that`s good man. I have a question, you can use a midi controller like that one in a live situation? I hear of some midi modules, and you can play whit them but i was wondering if there is something like a midi module where you can storage your patches and then use them live, or you need a computer? Thanks.
To a fim de comprar um desse, mas to com receio quanto a delay e outros problemas com a conexao com o laptop. Tenho um laptop com X-P con Intel Duo e 100 GB HD. Pode dar algumas dicas pra nao ter dor-de-cabeca ?
Like the B-3 synth stuff...now, if I could just find a good Fender Rhodes Piano Bass synth...I'd be golden. Maybe Ray Manzarek will sell me his old one? LOL
Hi - this video makes me laugh everytime I watch it! I am trying to find backing tracks minus the keyboard component (ie Hammond organ), Is this what you use? If so, can you let me know where you downloaded the backing track from. Thanks very much!
The song is currently played by Don Airey, but Jon Lord was who recorded this song in 1995/1996 along with Ian Gillan, Steve Morse, Roger Glover and Ian Paice.
@ceccere I have ASIO using B4. But using my keyboard from PC i gets delay, and I can't play something fast that it cuts the notes.. Is it my soundcard that is shitty?
Wow, just as I refreshed the page, you replied.. But yeah, Thanks for responding.. I'm thinking about buying one of these.. you seem to like it a fair deal, and it seems pretty powerful+cheap.. So, would you reccomend this, or is there something else in it's pricerange that's better?
Before I got my Axiom, I used to play a Kurzweil SP88X. I like the piano weighted keys, but when I came to England I couldn't bring it with me. This is what I miss most.
On the other hand, the Axiom is compact and has excellent keys for playing synth, organ, etc. It has 8 pads for drums, aftertouch, 9 sliders for the B4's drawbars, etc.
In fact, it's worth. The only bad thing is that its keys make some loud noise, depending on how hard you play.
Yeah, you helped me out a bunch. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get one now.. I the only drawback is that it doesn't have hammer-action keys, but I can live with semiweighted. and if the keys are loud, that's not a big deal anyways, once again totally liveable. If you haven't had any problems with it aside from loud keys, I'd consider it being pretty sweet. (if you check around for axiom vids on youtube, you'll find people with some kinda scary problems)
There's no velocity, aftertouch or any other bullshit like that in a real Hammond, therefore they're useless for playing on B4. You need an expression pedal for sophisticated playing.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I think velocity and aftertouch allow way more expressive playing than a simple pedal. Is it so bad that this rig does things a real Hammond doesn't? You can turn those features off if you don't want them.
Velocity and aftertouch are totally opposite to the sound character of a Hammond and I doubt that the B4 software has any of those features. Of course, for other tones they are essential. If you're into Hammond organ playing, why on Earth would you want such features which the real thing doesn't have? There are million ways to be expressive on the Hammond: playing on both manuals, on bass pedal, expression pedal, using the drawbars, vibrato, percussion, switching Leslie speed, overdrive etc.
You can control any of those aspects with a controller like the Axiom. You can press harder for swell, or assign swell to a slider instead of the pedal. You can make the sliders into drawbars. You can switch Leslie speed with pushbuttons. Why on earth would you want to be limited by the physical construction of the Hammond?
hey i hav an axiom 25 and for some reason it has a lag time for example when i hit a key it takes a second for sound to come out from the speakers...and im using it on live lite 6..is there some settings on live to get rid of the lag time?
This is called latency. U can adjust some settings on Live, but u have to be using a sound card which supports low latency. If u r using PC, sound cards compatible with ASIO do a great job!
Hi, I bought Axiom61 last month and after few days,I did hit one of the drawbars near display with my elbow by mistake and he flied off the keyboard,broken...be careful, these controls are not fully solid..:)!
Oh, I know that - that was just a side comment regarding your playing :) Just as far as the Axiom 61 itself in terms of value, durability, usefulness, etc. though, what do you think?
I like to play the Axiom 61, it's got nice keys' renponse to play synths and organs and it still good after one year and a half of use. I think it's a great cost/benefit keyboard.
No one better to ask than you... Do you find that the keys are stiff when you first start to play, like you need to mash them down first so that they actually move? I may be the only one having this problem...
It is totally normal at cheaper keys - they are not hammer-weighted, so they have different types of mechanisms that assure moving keys back. And of course every such mechanism when not moved for a time stucks a little bit (i.e. springs take a temperature of the room). I always press all the octaves gently before playing in order to prepare my precioussss to work ;]
I just got an axiom 61 and i use fruity loops. I really don't know how to use the enigma editor or set it up to control the devices on fruity loops, if you could help I would really appreciate it
