We have amber alert systems that at least where I used to be subscribed saved hundreds of missing kids every year--whether they knew who took them or not, systems are in place to let communities help (amber was a child that went missing, hence the name; we have silver alerts, too, for elders who disappear; some get lost, others sick w/o meds or ID.
This is sad, I always wanted to adopt a child from China when I got older but know I am kind of afraid to... what if the child I wanted to adopt was stolen from their parents and sold to me and I maybe wasn't paying adopting fees but the criminals directly?? NinjaMike...There is no such thing as half capitalist and half communist. The two ideologies are mutually exclusive. While the communist government and China's Han elite run the economy, industry and foreign trade in a capitalist fashon, the vast majority of the people are excluded from opportunity and forced to live work and die under a communist, and somewhat fasciest, regime. China's elite class is corrupt to the core and on a mission to wage & win an economic war at any cost.

ummm ok finally a couple thousand were rescued out of what " tens of thousands" abducted every year? Those aren't good numbers to brag about. The authorities are turning their heads and lining their pockets don't try to say differently because it's BS! Wouldn't it be easier for the authorities to focus their energies into solving these crimes rather than worry about how they are going to look in the eyes of the world?
These people would not have to plead their case like this if the authorities would honestly help them.
Then they would be singing their praises rather than meekly protesitng and having to worry about their own lives.
